Episode plot was that Morty got turned into a Total Recall psychic chest baby on Summer's torso. She went to a club for people with psychic chest babies and was human trafficked. Summer broke out to go save Morty, which semi-saved that girl in the process. That's the psychic-chest-baby-ectomy scar and Summer has one, too.
The psychic chest baby Morty and the hot girl psychic chest baby on the hot guy baiting Summer were making bedroom eyes at each other the whole time so I was expecting an incest 4-way.
So was this one of those "you know to know the reference to get it" type of episode?
I don't and for the vast majority of its lenght it was just dull. Rick had a couple funny jokes but that was it for me. Post credits gag sucked ass too.
No, they literally beat you over the head with it, making the reference very obvious, or at the very least if you're under 18 years old you can just look it up >OH SHIT, ITS A-*burp* MORTY, ITS A KUATO, FROM TOTAL RECALL. TOTAL RECALL, SUMMER, MORTY, ITS TOTAL RECALL. THIS IS JUST LIKE THAT TIME MORTY TURNED INTO AN AKIRA, FROM AKIRA, FROM THE ANIME AKIRA
like good god at least when they did the cronenberg joke in season 1 they didnt have to constantly reference the fact that david cronenberg is a famous director
>The issue with summer is she feels like a completely different character every episode
Janeway syndrome. They want her to be a Strong Female Character but also interesting and it ends up incoherent. Of course it’s not as bad with Summer since she’s not the lead.
I agree about the janeway syndrome. But at least for beth and summer, you get the vague impression that they're only "normal people" because of the sociocultural indoctrination of human society, and as soon as you put them in a different scenario, like Space Beth or when Summer is having her rewards from Rick, you see the shark rising out of the water and realize that they're definitely related to him and could be fricking terrifying, which is what I'm glad they pursued with Space Beth. If Summer ever got blipped to a distant point in space and had to survive in some alien society, she'd probably end up just as badass as Space Beth because the incredibly capable John Wick-esque monster that lies within her gets a chance to shine. Something that is smothered by the warm, wet narcissistic banality of the safety of human society.
>"We learn at the end that Rick actually respects her. She reminds him of Diane and that is probably the biggest compliment she'll ever get from him."
Literal Diane metaphor in the car for seven whole seasons and Summer is the Diane draw for Rick now? They're nothing alike until proven otherwise. The writing is just fricking awful.
The car didn't have a voice until season 2, and even then, its not like the Diane connection was cemented by anything beyond being voiced by Kari Wahlgren, who presumably was given the role as Jessica took more of a back seat.
This, a much better show would just have an episode where morty walks up to Rick and just asks him and because we are 7 seasons in, he tells him something now that he has no reason to be secretive anymore since Morty knows everything that happened
Summer is a teen and we've only seen Diane as a adult. It's possible Diane used to act similar to Summer when she was younger if Rick happened to know her that long.
Just happy we got more Trisha and the other high school characters. With Trisha somehow being Summer's best friend now, good chance we'll see more in the future.
True but if their friendship can endure Trisha wanting to frick Jerry, it can survive anything.
Idk why they're suddenly pretending it's spelled "Trisha" now. Even the captions this episode still read "Tricia." We're seven seasons in. Don't frick up the Paheal tags out of nowhere.
Maybe the real Tricia Lange didn't like her name being associated with Rick and Morty after the Justin stuff. Maybe the writers are dogshit. We may never know.
Maybe the real Tricia Lange didn't like her name being associated with Rick and Morty after the Justin stuff. Maybe the writers are dogshit. We may never know.
I like to imagine in-universe Tricia is how she spelled her name in the Mr. Frundles universe and Trisha is how its spelled in the Patmesean universe.
They've been friends but she seemed to be a more Jessica centric character before the sleepover and Ethan stuff. Can't help but feel her being Summer's "best friend" came out of left field. Then again more Tricia is only a good thing.
>kuatos weren't given meaningful roles
Idk if that fits the reference but it would have been funny to see the kuatos have their own conversations with one another, yknow psychically or whatever.
>beth
fricked herself multiple times >jerry
made out with himself and also the whole sleepy Gary thing and also had a 3 way with me nimbus >Rick
Also canonically had sex with mr nimbus and male unity hosts >summer
Dated a girl in the lovefinderzz episode and now at the end off this episode >morty
The only one that might actually be straight
It would be extremely funny to find out Morty's been in a big "we're not gay because it's us" orgy of Mortys. If The Creepy Morty still existed that would be the perfect location.
I liked the episode where Tricia invites Morty to join her, Jessica, and Reka in the hot tub, but tells him it's skinny dipping and that he should man up.
They already has a lesbian Summer(C-1239) in the comics but nobody reads the comics. It did hint why that Summer became a lesbian was in the C-1239 universe Morty was never born.
That's my main issue with this episode. I love the exploration of Summer's resentment toward Morty being spoiled and babied as the younger sibling, but Rick STILL dismissing him this hard makes it feel like this story would've been more fitting a couple seasons earlier. Morty has proven many times that he can hold his own in high-stakes battles, is just as well-versed with Rick's tech, and has even saved Rick's ass every now and again. The S5 finale outright showed promise of them becoming equals moving forward. I could deal with that new dynamic being held back for another season because Rick still hesitated on opening himself up to the family and involving Morty on his Rick Prime hunt, but now it's just unacceptable.
Sitcom or not, you can't develop Morty this much and still expect to keep the main duo acting exactly the same forever. There are still ways to have them differ from each other: Morty can still be carelessly horny, naive, and frick things up because he questions the morality of their adventures. There's plenty you can work with there. I hate how the writers keep backpedaling on Rick and Morty's present dynamic just to keep the show static and neverending. My other issue was the Kuato shit not being as funny as the writers must've thought
And that would be fine if they did it right. Tons of plot-heavy shows/cartoons have filler, and most of them are good at saying "hey, this is just a fun story that we wanted to tell, and we used these characters instead of making up a new world for one short story"
It's when you do it as a parallel plot line, and theres always multiverse bullshit mixed in with really good stand-alone plots.
Good examples of "the right way" being "Inter-dimensional Cable" "Morty's Mind Melters (or whatever)" and that episode where it started with "real" rick and morty and then transitioned to the multi-verse story, without involving our rick and morty
Good point. Most of my problems with the show comes from how serialized it got. They make this big effort for character arcs, and they joke about how 2D the characters were in early seasons
And then they still slip back into "frick off morty *burp*" "oh geeze okay i dont know nothing i guess, huh rick?"
It reminds me of the day dreams id have as a kid, where i add this super badass plot twist, but then the next day i think "man, i miss when my character was the underdog, let's just forget about that whole "lone-wolf badass" thing
Man I wish a decoy pinnochio/cuckoo-clock Morty still existed because our Morty hiding him from being killed in the decoy purge and keeping him under his bed and using him as a cum dumpster would be pretty hot, a fully sentient Morty being forced to be a sex slave to avoid being killed is a pretty hot prompt.
Did she get stabbed?
Episode plot was that Morty got turned into a Total Recall psychic chest baby on Summer's torso. She went to a club for people with psychic chest babies and was human trafficked. I sense immense fetish potential there but I'm not a high enough level degenerate to conceptualise it.
The psychic chest baby Morty and the hot girl psychic chest baby on the hot guy baiting Summer were making bedroom eyes at each other the whole time so I was expecting an incest 4-way.
Probably part of the seduction since they assume anyone with a quato has a psychic link with their host if your not moronic like Summer.
you just gotta open your mind
Uhhh.... have little morty bend over and eat summer out, he is totally close enough to reach.
What happened to her Kuato?
We don't shown outside of that it was removed. Might have been sold on the black market already.
So was this one of those "you know to know the reference to get it" type of episode?
I don't and for the vast majority of its lenght it was just dull. Rick had a couple funny jokes but that was it for me. Post credits gag sucked ass too.
>Post credits gag sucked ass too.
I can appreciate the Squid Game reference but the 69 jokes weren't landing
most of the end tags so far this season have been on the weaker side
Yeah. I saw Total Recall when I was 7, I totally forgot about the whole "quatto" thing
No, they literally beat you over the head with it, making the reference very obvious, or at the very least if you're under 18 years old you can just look it up
>OH SHIT, ITS A-*burp* MORTY, ITS A KUATO, FROM TOTAL RECALL.
At least they didn't reference "Crimes Of The Future" in spite of how parody-ripe that film would be.
I really wonder how many people give a frick about summer.
Well some of the writers seem to like her
>some of the writers seem to like the primary female character
wonder why that could be
The issue with summer is she feels like a completely different character every episode
This. She's so inconsistent that it's hard to care.
Precisely, there’s no just fricking consistency with her.
>The issue with summer is she feels like a completely different character every episode
Janeway syndrome. They want her to be a Strong Female Character but also interesting and it ends up incoherent. Of course it’s not as bad with Summer since she’s not the lead.

We need scenes with Diane, but the writers are cowards
This, a much better show would just have an episode where morty walks up to Rick and just asks him and because we are 7 seasons in, he tells him something now that he has no reason to be secretive anymore since Morty knows everything that happened
Summer is a teen and we've only seen Diane as a adult. It's possible Diane used to act similar to Summer when she was younger if Rick happened to know her that long.
Most of the director commentary thing has dan Harmon and som random asss female writer talking
Yep this episodes probably shit
Just happy we got more Trisha and the other high school characters. With Trisha somehow being Summer's best friend now, good chance we'll see more in the future.
Nah, she booed her at the party
True but if their friendship can endure Trisha wanting to frick Jerry, it can survive anything.
boy that after pic does super look like she's tuckered out from fricking her little brother in the ass, there. Maybe I'm just brainrotted.
Definitely the brain rot.
You know what, that's actually fair.
Wait, since when did Trisha want Jerry's D?
The episode where Jerry is in the backyard with his bees.
So she just developed a lust for him? They gonna hump?
God willing
especially after Beth gets executed for trying to kill jerry
Pregnant Summer made my dick immediately rock-hard in that montage.
How did Doug get into the party?
She was the last one to boo and her expression didn't change to look like she enjoyed it, so it looked more like typical peer pressure.
But then how do you explain posting these pics
Social capitalizing. Summer will forgive her anyway.
Very fair and true. Summer understands the game.
Tricia sleeps with her dad while Summer claims Morty and Beth sleeps with Beth.
Idk why they're suddenly pretending it's spelled "Trisha" now. Even the captions this episode still read "Tricia." We're seven seasons in. Don't frick up the Paheal tags out of nowhere.

I like to imagine in-universe Tricia is how she spelled her name in the Mr. Frundles universe and Trisha is how its spelled in the Patmesean universe.
That would actually be funny, but I’m not gonna give the crew that much credit. They’re just careless sometimes
>Summer doing the onions girl face while Trisha looks 10/10
mogged
Summer and Tricia have always been friends, haven't they? She the girl Summer spends the most time with. She was at the slumber party with Nancy.
They've been friends but she seemed to be a more Jessica centric character before the sleepover and Ethan stuff. Can't help but feel her being Summer's "best friend" came out of left field. Then again more Tricia is only a good thing.
But when will Tricia pee on someone?
The inevitable beach episode
Beach
Jellyfish string
???????
Profit
She'll probably pee on Summer (Or Morty).
She drinks pee, she doesn't pee on people.
>kuatos weren't given meaningful roles
Idk if that fits the reference but it would have been funny to see the kuatos have their own conversations with one another, yknow psychically or whatever.
>no breast slider
gay episode
It's funny to me that save for Morty there's evidence that every Smith is bisexual.
Pretty much.
>beth
fricked herself multiple times
>jerry
made out with himself and also the whole sleepy Gary thing and also had a 3 way with me nimbus
>Rick
Also canonically had sex with mr nimbus and male unity hosts
>summer
Dated a girl in the lovefinderzz episode and now at the end off this episode
>morty
The only one that might actually be straight
Give it time and Morty will frick a femboy out of desperation
Can't say that wouldn't be in-character at this rate.
Anyone got that pic from the comics where Jerry walked in on Morty with another Morty? Or maybe it was Rick.
Well comics Smith family are a different version than the tv show ones so I wasn't
gonna count anything they do.
Tick also fricked other ricks
It would be extremely funny to find out Morty's been in a big "we're not gay because it's us" orgy of Mortys. If The Creepy Morty still existed that would be the perfect location.
Fricking garbage episode, of course mindless r*dditors are eating this shit up
I doubt we’ll ever see her again after this episode.
A "hottie" that looks like a man.
Imagine if Morty spends the rest of the season being a Quato
He'd live his best life as a quato
>Summer lezes out
>"wow... I am amazed at your complexity"
Someone post that America Chavez page.
Yurichads keep on winning
oh god its a dobson episode
shit episode.
>Gets confirmed in universe ugly in last weeks episode
>immediately becomes a dyke
What did they mean by this?
Im surprised it didnt happen sooner. I guess dan did prefer the incest angle more
I liked the episode where Tricia invites Morty to join her, Jessica, and Reka in the hot tub, but tells him it's skinny dipping and that he should man up.
>Abandoned game
Yeah, but it got a ton of content and at least will get an ending
this season is frickig boring
it doesn’t have the worst episodes of the series but it’s so pointless
i mean it's just another cartoon for the sake of having more adult cartoons at this point. everything has kind of been resolved now.
Who is she?
Rick was the best part of the episode when he was beating up random people. Best gag in a while.
Stupid episode but they've really made Rick good again, they let him hurt his ankle and it was cute when he got Morty the spider thing at the end
>Justin gets booted when Rick improves as a character.
How could he even hurt his limbs in any way anyways? They're literally all robotics at this point.
he gets fricked up on so many hard drugs that there's no guarantee they're implemented well, or even maintained at all
Right? Surprised they didn't give her some nasty ass fat blue hair.
The jerrick episode and meat is murder episodes were terrible but the others sound so fricking boring I don't even want to watch them
pure coal
>OH BOY, SUMMER EPISODE HOPE WE GET MORE INCES-
lesbians/woman are shitty writers, cant go a second without self insert themself in the story
They already has a lesbian Summer(C-1239) in the comics but nobody reads the comics. It did hint why that Summer became a lesbian was in the C-1239 universe Morty was never born.
Ironic that the incest shitter is mad about actual couples with chemistry
But standing next to another female, makes her face look even more like her father. Summer is not a looker.
It's funny how little Risk expects out of Morty lmao.
It's weird to me that he doesn't considering how much more competent Morty has gotten. Even in this episode he basically frees himself.
That's my main issue with this episode. I love the exploration of Summer's resentment toward Morty being spoiled and babied as the younger sibling, but Rick STILL dismissing him this hard makes it feel like this story would've been more fitting a couple seasons earlier. How do you know this is the C-137 Morty.
Welcome to why multiverse is a shit idea, no consequences no continuity, and it all canon.
And that would be fine if they did it right. Tons of plot-heavy shows/cartoons have filler, and most of them are good at saying "hey, this is just a fun story that we wanted to tell, and we used these characters instead of making up a new world for one short story"

This episode felt like hearing two people talk about a move I haven't watched
Harmon's top grade Harvard writers doing their finest, gentlemen.
Enough to make me wonder if comedy writing is even part of their curriculum.
>Rick Prime dead
>Rick is smiling a lot this episode and having fun
Its the small things.
This show has never made anything attractive or worthwhile and it looks gross
Sex-doll, milking machine....is Morty addicted to "toys"?
Tricia probably uses to "dominate" Morty.
It helps that she's has Jerry's exact face.
That girl is way too hot to be with someone with Jerry’s face.
Means Summer is the top.
>Feminine lesbian attracted to a butch lesbian
It all makes sense
I don't consider Summer "butch". She is still feminine, just butterfaced.
Was the cult leader parodying someone?
I told my buddy last week it was going to be a Summer episode and I was right. Decent episode.
Gay summer? Take THAT, notorious homophobic evangelical Christian Justin Roiland!
