As 90% of comic writers and 80% novel, writers. You are in good company.
The bigger problem is finding an artist tho!

Shared universes suck colossal dick. Make one good character/story and focus on that.

No. Just dividing it between opposing writers!

wasn't that one of Tom King's first books?

I don't think Tom King was involved with Big Bang Comics.

is any of this readable or is the writing going to be as disappointing as Worlds Funnest?

It's VERY "retro". If you're the kind of Cinemaphile homosexual who needs everything to be Alan Moore style postmodern homosexualry then it's probably not for you.

It wasn't made "better" because of the shared universe, it was made because a team of good writers were given a clusterfrick of a shared universe and asked to adapt it into another medium. They took a lot the stupid shit the DC universe didn't need and left it out. The only thing that makes it work is good writers.

there are plenty. DC and Marvel just not interested in exploring them.

Like here is a really simple idea: Give the classic DC characters to a handful of good writers and great manga/comic artists and let them do a run from start to finish with their life, with a start and an end. Like with batman, have definitive ends for each villain. He either helps them, puts them behind bars, or they die. No getting out of arkham. No infinite wheel spinning. No resetting.

People want that. Its why the two burtan movies are so popular and btas and even the adam west batman. Start, middle, ending, done.

Dc should hire Jeff Weigel to draw some Superman issues . He does a pretty good Curt Swan impression

        Yes.

Tom Strong was okay as a mini-series, more than that was pointless. The rest of it felt as equally useless.

Nope, I need shit to be well written and readable. Retro can be entertaining and readable, but not when it tries too hard to be "too precious."

Tom Strong, Promethea, Top Ten, and Greyshirt and Jack B. Quick were great. So was League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but that was separate.

It seems to me like you have questionable standards as to what that constitutes.
