Kinda eh on the shadow fighters shooting pew pew lasers instead of spitting out some energy ball, but I'll chalk this up to that being because of the alternate reality.
A lot of the actors were former druggies which shortened their lifespans. It made them cheap to hire which an impoverished production like this needed. Others were middle aged stage actors or unmarketable foreigners like Mira Furlan.
Any theory on why the shadows would actually wanna conquer Babylon 5 instead of just outright blowing it up with their fusion beams in the Sinclar-remains-commander-timeline?
All in all, rather mediocre.
Still not really a fan of seeing the shadows going in hand to hand combat and them having some liquid in their exoskeleton. And they behave way too fast and like generic swarming screeching bug monsters, instead of the nigh-invisible shadow spider-mantises who whisper and manipulate everything and send minions to do their dirty work like we've seen in the live action tv shows.
Also, the focus on quantum mechanics and observing and being an observer is tedious.
If that's the best that Straczinsky could come up with for OG babylon 5, then I kinda have my doubts about the possible live action-tv reimagining of B5 being good and interesting as well.
Then again, despite all that, I am so addicted to new B5-content that I'd probably still continue watching a cgi-movie series and the reimagining, should it ever be greenlighted.
It was bittersweet seeing some of these characters again, especially considering so many of the actors are dead now. The story was okay, but it felt too silly/too quippy in a lot of places and it was distracting. Some of the upgraded ship designs looked really cool.
Wait what? When did THIS happen!?
It's out today but there has been hardly any advertising about it.
Honestly, I've watched Babylon 5 multiple times and your post is the first time I just found out about this new film. Appreciate it.
Maybe it's not getting promoted because of the writers strike?
I liked it
Love Babylon 5, never heard of this. Thank you for sharing, anon.

Saw it at Comic Con in San Diego. Loved it.
The re-cast voices did a great job IMO.
...to absent friends, in memory still bright.
were the sets built on an ancient indian burial ground?
An abandoned hot tub factory actually.
I'm not kidding.
There are pictures of Andreas in full G'kar makeup out front having a cigarette break.

The animation looked a little wonky but then again, the CGI in the original was pretty wonky at times too.
im excited about this from the trailer. I'll probably hold off until this weekend to watch it.
Babylon 5 ancillary content tends to be meh at best for some reason, like those boring TV movies made around the time of the (also meh) fifth season
I'm baffled they decided to do this random story of time shit again instead of giving a proper conclusion to the Crusade storyline.
