I'm completely unbiased having just watched the original for the first time on Friday then watching this new one on Saturday. Can say the original was unironically extremely comfy and enjoyable. New one was really bad in comparison, Conor was so bad that he actually turned it into a "so bad it's good situation" but the movie itself was pretty mid. It was watchable and fun but when comparing to the original it's pretty bad and missed a ton of opportunities in terms of capitalizing on what made the original good.

The reviews are right, but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy it.
The plot has too many loose ends and nonsense decisions. The character arcs are nonexistent. The main character has lost his mystique and "i'm badass only when it's proper" position.
The double love interest is a weird bait and switch.
Much as I like Connor being Connor to add chaos and drama, his appearance makes ZERO sense. >son is fricking up criminal takeover of property >son is causing too much chaos, fricking it up >father then decides to hire someone who from the very first moment on screen is a walking tornado that fricks things up just to frick them up >loose cannon proceeds to frick everything up, get MORE police involvement, and eventually kill the father's son
