Hello Anons; I'm trying to get into Bandes Dessinee. Any recommendations for sites that sell English translations? Also, which stories/comics do you recommend. I myself like comedy, racy/adult, action, etc.

Nice. Any sites/vendors you recommend for European comics in general?
I usually just get my stuff from the Win-O'-Threads these days:
There used to be some Euro comic blogs, but I can't vouch for them. One had a really bad pop-up problem, even with an adblock.
Humanoids publishes/sells European comics.
A book you might like is Muse by Filippi and Dodson. They also sell a lot of Manara titles.

>that sells
they've mostly stopped trying. BDs today are so stupidly insular they only care about their scene. Guess state gibs does that to your industry.
You only means are buying from bedeteque in frog language, or hoping someone fanboys the book enough to do an english scanlation.
In that case 99% of those book are in libgen
/co/'s interest in BDs dried out when frog coomer art when out of vogue.
recommend just about everything here. plus keraskoet, seouls, and les nombrils (rip ;_;).
>les nombrils (rip ;_;)
What happened?
The writer and artist split up because they stopped loving each other.
I wouldn't recommend either of these. Le Grand Jeu was scanlated but there was never a real ending apart from as a text summary of the unpublished volume 7 in a limited collected edition which of course no-one has scanned.
And The Secret History stopped being translated by Archaia quite abruptly, not to mention the actual ending in the French versions is pretty shit.
>not to mention the actual ending in the French versions is pretty shit.
name one longform BD that aced the ending
lanfeust doesn't count
I can't actually think of any other series that are 30+ volumes, finished and not just episodic shit. I guess the back end of Melusine but we both know that was not great. Maybe talk to me in 10 or so years when Seuls is finished. I thought Okko was a good ending but that was only 10 tomes.
uuh sambre? i think it ended
Not yet, there's supposed to be one final bumper-length (~200 pages I think) volume coming to finish it off in 2026, which will make it 40 years since the series started.
Ythaq had decent endings to both arcs, although the arcs themselves have some low points.
main artist made the new Gaston Lagaffe
I enjoyed XIII, You can get English translated version on Amazon.
>Also, which stories/comics do you recommend.
le grand jeu
