You never read the comics. She's black. It's even a plot point in some arcs of the comics.
It was the 80s, not 2023 when they hammer that shit over your head every second of her appearance on screen/on a panel.
They used Rae Dawn Chong as a template ffs!
I watched it this past weekend and it was surprisingly fun. The only thing I didn't like was how they gimped Splinter. Of course all /tvpol/ cares is the identity politics.
I'm going to watch it soon because some trusted people said it was good. April getting black washed is annoying, but I'll get over it if its a good movie.
It's first and foremost a kid's movie. I took my nephew but overall enjoyed it. It leans heavily on humor and for the most part it works. The action scenes and animation are good. Yeah April kinda sucked regardless of the race swap and she was the least interesting character. If you enjoyed the new spiderman animated movies you'll enjoy this.
Why is it failing, though? And don't give me black April because most people don't care. Even the black mermaid made 560 million.
Animated movies in general haven't been doing great. I guess because it's easier for parents to just put cartoons on the million of streaming services for their kids then spending movie at the theater
The first Spiderman did terrible. The sequel is doing good because people eventually watched the first one. And Mario it's all the 30something yr old nostalgia driven people who watched it.
>Animated movies in general haven't been doing great.
Mario is the highest grossing movie of the year. Spider-Man is the 5th highest. Even Elemental is slowly turning a profit. You'd think a well known franchise like Turtles would do a little better than this.
I actually liked the movie, but it was a weird choice to have them living as normal teenagers outside the sewer with most of their rogues gallery as their allies by the end of the movie. Why destroy all your potential future storylines in the first film of your reboot?
>The film follows the Turtle brothers as they work to earn the love of New York City while…
You hear how fricking boring that premise is? How can they be (somewhat) disciplined ninjas if they are so desperate for the approval of people they’ve never met?
TMNT is being mogged by other offerings at the box-office. Paramount made two big mistakes with Mission impossible and this. Both of them could've had good runs if the studio wasn't nearly as moronic as it is.
>rotten tomatoes score
That's like saying it had a higher ADL rating
What's YOUR ESG score Chudlin?
turtlered.
And the box office?
55 million in a week
>70m budget
So it was a flop.
Throw in an extra 20-30 million on marketing
it didn't release yet oversea give it a 50/50 ratio and it will break even no doubt and even make a profit.
>paid shills and "verified" purchasers gave three thumbs up for swapped april and rodent insect shipping
Getting real sick of them shoving troons into kids cartoons
>Rescuers gays are still upset
kek, your pain and trauma will never NOT be funny
Wonder what the third movie will be for it to officially become a pattern.
i want to FRICK donatella
>IS THAT A HECKIN BODY POSITIVE LESBIAN AFRICAN QUEEN AS APRIL??!! ZOMG TAKE ALL OF MY FRESH TAMATERS!
You do know original April from the comics was back, right?
*black*
but she was hot
We have gone over this many many times. She's not black she's a white woman with a perm.

Based Chong connoisseur
What was her mother’s name again?
looks israeli to me
Looks hispanic.
so?
changing story beats isn't important, except when the changes are strictly worse than the original.
>that
>black
at best Latina, but taking into account every white woman had that hairstyle in the 80s I dunno what to tell you
No. I was a teen in the 80s and that's a black woman haircut. White women had big fluffy hair, but never like that. That's 100% black hair.
>black
>black
girls sported the broccoli haircut like zoomers today in the 80s
JUST LET YOUR SOUL GLOOOOOOOW
>filename
top kek
It takes a certain je ne sais quoi to combine subtle Star Trek The Next Generation and Coming to America references into one upload.
https://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2018/02/was-april-oneil-originally-black-in.html
It's all so tiring.
10 year olds want a shitty comedy movie not a cool movie about ninja mutants.
This WAS a shitty comedy movie
The turtles didn't even fight the other mutants
Nah...
>TMNT average rating: 7.6
>Oppenheimer average rating: 8.6
>TMNT Metacritic: 74

Spiderverse and Mario were two of the biggest movies of the year.

Yeah specially rocksteady and bebop
Because they’ll just reboot this fricking franchise with a different spin in another five years
Im not warching it due to Dark April
Her name is June, June Teenz
Donatello looks like he's wearing makeup from the thumbnail
Why is it failing, though? And don't give me black April because most people don't care. Even the black mermaid made 560 million.
Kids don't give a frick about TMNT anymore and it doesn't have anything to appeal to the nostalgic manchild demographic to make up for that.

A 6/10 is the same as a 10/10 for RT. Stop caring for that stupid shit, call them trannies and homosexuals and move on you morons
>Turn them into obnoxious teenage Black person
>considered the best TMNT movie by fans
>critics don't like it
Not enough black artists in the soundtrack.
Not my Ninja turtles. Some psyops satanic gay shit.
Why are non Disney animated films killing it at box office right now?
Even some of the most optimistic projects have this movie doing <$300 million WW.
Sad sack of talentless shit. He needs to virtue signal to get profits.
It already hit a billy?
homosexual turtles no bueno
Cool. Now show me boxoffice numbers
