between this and the FF news is today some sort of quota to announce projects or get teasers out? I assume this is for the Daniel Kaluuya Barney movie.
They didn't broadcast Barney in my region when I was a kid, so I'm only familiar with his character because of parodies. I kept expecting some kind of a parody twist here. I also wondered if the "special message" was gonna involve politics in some way.
It's weird that it's on Mattel's official channel but the video is unlisted and currently only has 465 views. Why so secretive? And where did OP get the link from anyway?
Same. I loved the Imagination Island movie as a kid and I still get the songs stuck in my head. I don't know why autists hate characters like Barney, the reason characters like that are infamously despised is because parents are forced by their kids to watch them for hours on end. Chronically online autists don't have kids making them watch Barney, so how are they seeing him enough to hate his very existence? Just... don't watch Barney the dinosaur if you're over the age of 8?
>Had several VHS tapes when I was like 3 >Looped them endlessly, probably annoying my family >Watched one tape containing an episode about manners >Got stuck in the VCR TV thing and became the only thing you could watch on it
Had that episode memorized for a while. I remember the kids literally beat Barney at Tug o’ War at some point
So a long time ago, there was a very angry anti-brony who didn't like how grown men were watching MLP:FiM and praising it as a solid cartoon with good animation, plot and characters, especially since it aired alongside Barney, suggesting it's brainless toddler slop just like Barney (which is how he got his name, barneygay) and that the bronies were delusional spammers. He would post that Barney timeslot image, and screenshots of people on other forums agreeing with his point of view, and generally seethed about ponies and people liking them.
But like
Some guy that continues to reply to himself.
says, this is likely not the original barneygay and is just some autist-obsessed weirdo keeping an ancient meme on life support by posting derpibooru images and replying to himself.
It should be noted he had a huge vendetta against Barney because something happened regarding his special ed class.
For reference, shows like Barney and Thomas are frequently shown in special ed classes because when you get to a certain level of autism, you are obligated to keep the tards placated with as many calming things as possible
This is just like that Elmo tweet a few days ago where everyone just kinda vented their feelings.
Why the frick does messages like this impact so many people including me
I'm torn. This is honestly kind of neat and it's extremely funny to see Barney of all fricking characters return, but I'm kind of tired of how it's gotten to the point that literal preschool characters are being used to market to young adults. The moment he said "you are seen, you are loved" I felt a little part of myself cringe. >Unlisted
Oh shit.
The fact that I am able to possibly understand why you posted this image of kitty katswell, in this quality, in this way, in this thread...
I don't even know what to say, spammer-kun. Frick, I'm getting too old for this shit.
Tsmt
Thanks barney
Did parents really hate him?
Parents and edgy 6 year olds wanting to show how "Grown up" they are at school
There were plenty of teens and college students hating on him too

>Mattel confidential.

I love Barney, and I am tired of pretending otherwise

"Isn't it nice that some things are still true, even when you're all grown up"
This is really going to get to some people
he will never be a thread misser
Can someone please give me some context? What is this meme that I keep missing?
Some guy that continues to reply to himself.
Wrong

I see… thank you anon, I appreciate this chunk of Cinemaphile lore.
It's not really Cinemaphile-specific, barneygay spams Cinemaphile and Cinemaphile more often than Cinemaphile
Frick off, Barney, it's ASH WEDNESDAY and I am currently fasting. I don't need your shit today.

Probably the last we’ll ever see of the original barney before they replace him with that cgi monstrosity cocomelon ass reboot version
I was worried Barney was going to start talking about gender identity or something
I never hated him. I understand why people turned against him but I can appreciate even more how sappy he is.

This feels like a soulless version of the message Steve from Blue's Clues did a few years ago.
Why is his voice wrong?
