>israelite goes to jail for being evil >homosexual is gunned down next to his golden idol >christian barry is remembered as a hero and his prayers to God are answered, his son lives a righteous life
Good first season but fell apart because they couldn’t decide for certain what they wanted the show to be and it’s gone varied wildly. It’s exhibit A of why actors shouldn’t be given control over shows or movies they’re in. They just want to do scenes they think will look cool at an Oscar slide show and don’t care about building up or how to get there.
It’s a C- at best and aside from the usual reasons one of the biggest problems was it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a comedy or a drama, but they already gave up on being a drama when the main character is capital-E Evil in episode 1. They tried to do bojack but you can’t do that when it’s an actual serial killer.
>the main character is capital-E Evil in episode 1. They tried to do bojack but you can’t do that when it’s an actual serial killer.
They could have if they leaned more into Fuchs controlling him and manipulating him into doing it when he was mentally at his weakest coming back from the war
>white lead >white love interest >he becomes Christian
So why does Cinemaphile hate this show again? Bill is a great director he should've done every episode
Mad Men is basically the handmaid's tale with binders. The show exists for women to get fingered and fricked by rich men. There's nothing macho about it
Good show. Someone should have stopped Bill Hader with S4.
The stuff in the desert was shit and undermined his show which was solid up until that point
Introducing doubt of what was real and wasn't weakened it.
The only weak point like this before was Hank being held captive and the monster next door, now he made an entire series of it with s4
>that one episode where Fuches and Barry team once more to kill a guy >they chase a feral child around a town with literal home alone type shenanigans >girl gets away and lives >never brought up again
The first season shoot out and badass stuff was a high point. They didn't want to glorify violence so they went backwards with it. In reality it didnt glorify it. It was perfect for offsetting violence with comedy and was fhe first interesting show to do it. Then they made Barry an idiot so it was downhill from there instead of the best action comedy of all time
Barry was always an idiot. Most of the characters were. He was riding around and being the acting partner of the dude he was hired to kill in episode 1
Just finished it a couple weeks ago. Season 1 was solid. Seasons 2 and 3 were great. Season 4 felt meh to me. It stopped being a relatively unique blend of surreal comedy and drama and just became yet another gritty revenge story. The final episode felt phoned in and was played quite safe.
you morons talk about this show so much I tried it but it was boooring as frick. it almost seemed good but theres way too much focus on the non-hitman segments.
I only watched half of Bojack but i found it boring and self indulgent. Barry doesn't say anything deep about mental illness either but at least it had much better acting and several genuinely kino shots
>Bill really knows what he's doing.
I like Bill and think he's very talented but he has a pick of Hollywood celebrities and he's with hideous Ali Wong.

So what was the final verdict
Good show, will be more fondly remembered than Succession because of the finale differential.
Stop watching after season 2 and if you MUST continue stop at the timeskip.
>israelite goes to jail for being evil
>homosexual is gunned down next to his golden idol
>christian barry is remembered as a hero and his prayers to God are answered, his son lives a righteous life
Kino
Stopped watching when it stopped being a comedy.
Watch what would have been a funny reoccurring SNL bit be tortured on the rack to take up 12 hours you’ll never get back.
Great concept, gayly executed.
Shame.

Trash for women
I enjoyed it but they really chose less interesting routes to take the premise. The traction is sorta gone by the timeskip too
A good show but the last season wasn’t very funny
shite
you would be better off watching mr inbetween
>white lead
>white love interest
>he becomes Christian
So why does Cinemaphile hate this show again? Bill is a great director he should've done every episode
>Christian themes
>all the protagonists are evil and it’s a pile of shit loosely arranged in the shape of a show
Checks out
People wanted wacky comedy hitman/actor like season 1 for the whole show
I really enjoyed how each season felt completely different.
Written by woman for women. White men bad the show, porno slop.
Barry is probably the most macho show to come out in the last 10 years. Name one show more macho
Mad men
Mad Men is basically the handmaid's tale with binders. The show exists for women to get fingered and fricked by rich men. There's nothing macho about it

What the frick was all that about
This was the reddit epsiode for reddit men babies

the constant back and forth of fuches hating/loving barry is unironically funny as frick throughout the whole show, especially how he flips on a dime
honestly that got stale for me personally
i've never wanted to hate frick someone as much as sally. fricking stupid b***h. i love her
She is much better as a brunette

mr. inbetween is barry but better
>NOOOOOO WHERE'S MY GUNFIRE AND EXPLOSIONS
>NOT ENOUGH MARVEL ACTION SEQUENCES
>ZOOMIE MUST GO ZOOM
have a nice day as soon as possible for the betterment of all mankind
>NOOOOOO WHERE'S ALL THE BLOOD FOR MY FRIED DOPAMINE RECEPTORS
>MUST CONSOOOOOOOOM
thinking that acting classes and romance are boring is not the same thing as constantly wanting gunfights
yes it is
Say what you may but the acting in this show was top tier
I agree. Bill really knows what he's doing. I can't wait for what ever he does next
Didn't care for season 4 but I cant lie the scene where he's yelling at himself in the mirror was extremely well done
Wow it's just like bojack that other show written by women for women
I only watched half of Bojack but i found it boring and self indulgent. Barry doesn't say anything deep about mental illness either but at least it had much better acting and several genuinely kino shots

Maybe on Cinemaphile, not real life
Bill hader is one of the only actors left that gives a frick about film. Go listen to him talk about movies and you'll know what I mean
It was good. People here got mad barry didn’t get his homosexual cliche Redemption arc
Great start..
Slow Downhill due to lack of planning a solid structure.
