Solaris is the only passable answer, won't save you from being called a massive gay.
I could've seen it as a normal list, but looking up half the movies so he could copy and paste the titles in the original language outed him as a pseud.
It's insane that he put 3 movies by the same director and still has one of the best lists. It's too bad Cary didn't go for quads and list Rumble Fish instead of Papillon. It would've been hilarious.
Was about to say Johansson's picks were the worst, but holy shit. A stoner comedy in your top four?? Not to mention Kimo no na wa; Shinkai is a fricking hack.
Pleb tier opinion. Your personal top 4 should never be about style or coming off as intellectual. Always pick the movies that you enjoy watching the most and for everyone it will always be different.
What a disappointment. Why do Hollywood celebrities have such basic b***h taste? For someone with a profession like ACTING, you’d think these fricking morons would have better taste than the general public, right?
A lot of actors proudly proclaim that they don't watch their own movies. I feel like they don't watch movies in general. Don't forget that most of these idiots are theater kids. And theater kids are goofy, moronic and weird.
it's a dilettante film whose era of "memed into every top 10" has past due to the audience that watched it in theaters getting older
same with pulp fiction
>It's a great film but the plot is moronic.
How is the plot moronic ?
A prosecutor claiming s knife was “rare” and then a jury member brings one in?
Possibly a violation of court rules, but prosecutors routinely lie or present misleading evidence, and courts are hardly free from bias.
Subverts expectations. You're expecting a horror movie, or alien encounter movie- and it turns into a fricking interdimensional Kaiju movie, about not trusting animalistic people.
It was quite literally a monster movie with a black - anti-Black person message. Fricking KINO as frick, frick you.
good try bro but trolling isn't your thing
Not trolling, Alien is an absolute master piece in environment and horror.
Tank Girl perfectly captures the essential goofy action 90s movie when the US was the only world power for a solid decade.
I've never seen babadook, but it made money, capitalism isn't wrong.
You are absolutely correct, which is why I explained what it subverted your expectations to. It went from basic spooky movie b/s to something that had deeper meaning, writing, and action. Very entertaining, fun, and lulz no one safe.
That's a little bit better but you're still not getting your troll on yet, missing a key piece I'd say
Nope is the best movie made in the last 10 years.
- You know I was gonna say that as a troll post, but I'm thinking right now. With all the Marvel movies and shit, how many original movies have come out in the last 10 years.
Nope is definitely up there.

I liked Alien too. It terrified me as a little kid, and as I've aged it's always held up. Modern Problems is another one like that.
Celebrities didn't use to age this poorly.
Look at Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver, hell even Harold Ramos looked professional and snappy. Half these b***hes should be in the autograph pit themselves, ScarJo is horrendous, like her head has turned into an internal bee hive, rosily inflated by stingers
Everything after the speederbike chase is a slog for a bit until Luke turns himself over and then it becomes kino again. It would be the best one if the down time was handled better.
Nerds over reacted. The real flaws are that George wrote them backwards and had an ending and about 1 film's worth of plot and made 2 filler films. That's why the films are filled with side-quest nonsense, entire planets that don't matter, fetch quests, characters talking while sitting down, talking in hallways, etc. Very little of the story matters (naboo, the clone wars, etc are irrelevant). Anakin doesn't DO anything until he saves Palps and kills Mace Windex which is like halfway through the third film.
If George had made a "trilogy" that was: >1 Anakin flashback film (Revenge of the Sith) >1 Luke Skywalker sequel about Jedi temple, and the new republic >1 old film about the old Republic and the original Jedi like 1000 years ago (before everyone had blasters)
I don't have any respect for anyone who likes any of the star wars movies. if you like them, I'm going to assume you're a moronic homosexual and a redditor. all of those movies are equally capeshit garbage. borderline unwatchable trash of the same quality. peak cringe.

I'm going to preemptively guess she says a Bill Murray film, probably Ghostbusters, Sky High, some really old French film, and a fantasy film, maybe LotR but probably something more obscure like Excalibur or Ladyhawke.
This. It's like they looked up "what should I say are my favorite movies?"
I want someone to be like "Half Baked, Jaws 3, Hot Fuzz, and Phantom Menace."
Thanks for the clarification. Otherwise people might have thought it was Howl's Moving Castle by studio Gaybaby and Hayao Miyazaki or a different movie called Howl's Moving Castle by studio ghibli and Adam Sandler.
Nothing pretentious about acknowledging that you made a great movie and think it's great and place it in your top 4. Picking godfather is way more pretentious.
Everyone picks The Godfather as a favorite, it's the most esteemed film ever made. What's pretentious about it? It's like being surprised that readers enjoy Anna Karenina or Brothers Karamazov. Well no shit they do
A lot of these people are giving very pleb choices, and I feel like others are being kind of mercenary in that they're simply naming the kind of movies they'd like to star in.
If you are not literally an Italian mobster, and you name any of the Godfather movies as one of your favorites, get the frick out of my face.
>A lot of these people are giving very pleb choices,
They're mainstream hollywood and they star in mainstream hollywood films. Does any of them star in films that emulate Goddard or 20's German expressionist films? No and for good reason. These are the kind of films mainstream Hollywood likes.
it's just a safe answer for boomers and midwits
Legit good film about family that's done relaly well. I keep coming back to it.
Did something happen in the last few years to make celebs get uglier? This isnt even just a zoomer thing as boomer actors seemed to have aged rapidly in the last 3 or 4 years.
He made a lot of good movies even after the '70s
Many directors would kill to have films like Rumble Fish, The Outsiders, Tucker, Cotton Club or Peggy Sue Got Married in their filmography.
>absolutely shocked to see hardcore mentioned by a woman
If there is one rule about films, it’s that most of the films with sexual scenes that degrade women the most are usually shot by women, at least for non porn films.
romeo + juliet is an extremely based pick, godfather is a little uninspired but I think people rating these forget how good and just enjoyable it is to watch
>I made an stop motion film >I know let's say only stop motion films of my list so it all goes back to my last stop motion film i made!
fricking soldout piece of shit, each year i hate him more
And
Scarface
Training Day
Total Recall
Jarhead
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
Apocalypse Now
Spiderman 2
These are just some movies I like. I don't watch movies just because ni/tv/ggers say they're amazing.
>That's just being contrarian for the sake of it
No.
Kevin Costner was the better Wyatt.
‘Wyatt Earp’ was also better as far as cinematography and individual scenes.
Both films had excellent Doc Holidays.
‘Tombstone’ looked more like a TV film.
‘Wyatt Earp’ looked more like something shot for Imax.
‘Wyatt Earp’ was also better at showing Wyatt Earp’s flaws.
There is no such thing as objectively perfect taste. Movie tastes are a completely subjective opinion and anyone ITT shaming others for enjoying certain movies are midwits who just want to come off as intellectually superior patricians.

You're a massive pussy and will never post it lmao
>You know all of these are bait lists when none of them have The Matrix, Transformers, Armageddon, or Jurassic Park. Fricking midtwit actors
The problem with really popular movies, is that they have routinely rin on TV, and it becomes hard to tell if you actually like the movie, or whether you watched it so many times because it was the better option that was available.
Most people have probably seen the Matrix, and the Indiana Jones films, and Die Hard repeatedly.
I like The Matrix because it’s pure entertainment and there are no wasted scenes. Every single scene teaches you about the interesting concept or thrills with great action sequences, sometimes at the same time
>I like The Matrix because it’s pure entertainment and there are no wasted scenes. Every single scene teaches you about the interesting concept or thrills with great action sequences, sometimes at the same time
This is good reasoning.
Why is everyone ITT so pretentious? My top 4 is The Matrix, Truman Show, Fellowship of the Ring and Ninth Gate. I’ve watched and enjoyed hundreds of classics and thought provoking films but they would never get near my top 4 because so many of them are great just once
Who the frick hasn't heard of Fellowship of the Ring and the Matrix?

What else would you call films that provoke thoughts? I watched Dogtooth and I thought about it a lot afterwards. How else would I word the thinking that took place after watching?
Film taste is subjective, and by that I mean objective if you really wanna be reductionist about it but there’s no way of telling who likes what so the best you have to deal with is that some people like different things.

>In Time
I love it when they throw these pretty bad movies in there.
Life (the Eddie and Arsenio movie) is a really good and depressing movie if you all have never seen it. Highly recommend.
>makes 4 absolute 10/10 all-time kinos
>make nothing but mediocrity for the next 50 years
He's a strange man
He made a lot of good movies even after the '70s
Many directors would kill to have films like Rumble Fish, The Outsiders, Tucker, Cotton Club or Peggy Sue Got Married in their filmography.
Dracula and Rumble Fish are good, just not on the level of his masterpieces but definitely not mediocre.
My list would be:
>LOTR 3
>Buck Breaking
>The Mummy
>Bloodsport
How would you rate this movie selection?
>Stalker
>Waterboy
>North by Northwest
>Stalingrad (1993)
do documentaries count?
then also
>mein liebster feind/my best fiend (that klaus kinski doc by werner herzog, luv me a kinski freakout compilation)
not in that order I guess
I think this is the transformers mc idk
Not a bad selection actually
>But if you ask me tomorrow, I'll give you a different four
Then they're not your "favorite movies" they're just some movies you've seen
pretty good besides waterboy
for me its Stalker, Aguirre, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Eraserhead
meant to reply to
Waterboy is my fun choice if I just want some goofy shit.
Doesn't always haver to be serious.
>Dune (1984)
>Big Trouble in Little China
>Men in Tights
>Running Man
Fight me.
>>Men in Tights
Runs too long.
Dune '84 was my favorite sci-fi movie as a kid.
You have really bad taste in movies and I’m only saying that to pick on you. It’s undeniable.
Idk who Weyes Blood is I think she's some kind of musician
absolutely shocked to see hardcore mentioned by a woman
>absolutely shocked to see hardcore mentioned by a woman
If there is one rule about films, it’s that most of the films with sexual scenes that degrade women the most are usually shot by women, at least for non porn films.
Good to know she's an absolute freak
basic filmtwitter "altgirl" taste
For me it's
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Drive
Watchmen
Dredd
Did you go into a coma in 2012 and just wake up?
I wish
Minus the waking up part.
Oh hey the kingsman guy, forgot about him
Shaun of the Dead is a good pick. Imo the best zombie movie ever made
I'm surprised it took this long for Shawshank to pop up
it's already popped up like 3 times
Damn this man be looking like he needs a BasedBot to open his Onions Drinks.
i dont trust men who sit cross legged, how are you not crushing your dick and balls?
Someone should make a letterbox account, add all these films and give them 5/5 ratings.
Howard red flags do you see?
*how many
She posts here I mean it's clear like a summer's sunny sky
>excalibur
>one of kurosawa's, probably ran because of visuals
>a man for all seasons
>amadeus
what do i win?
people that rate ugly snoozefest movies with no visual artistry should be shot, if a visual medium doesn't use its visuals it's not worth shit

WHY DO THEY KEEP PICKING MOVIES FROM THE PAST 5 YEARS
Maybe they likes the movie
You gotta go 2 classics, one random you really enjoy, and one recent you really enjoy to showcase your taste.
romeo + juliet is an extremely based pick, godfather is a little uninspired but I think people rating these forget how good and just enjoyable it is to watch
other ones are slop idk what 3 even is
>homeward bound
>slop
You can really tell who's trying hard to seem sophisticated lol
the most basic b***h taste in the thread probably
Yeah sure, but they're all great movies so what's the problem? Don't like it because the good movie is popular?
Oh I forgot to say, probably Mad God off the top of my head
Black person 😉
Peyton Reed, antman director
Doctor Zhivago
A Brief Encounter
Bridge on the River Kwai
Gladiator jr.
Is that Paul Mescal from Aftersun?
Ye
Those are his favorites and he only just recently did a stop motion movie? That's surprising.
Those aren't his real favorites, those are just 5 animated movies he picked because he just made an animated movie.
They specifically asked for stop motion movies for him
pedophile choice.
>I made an stop motion film
>I know let's say only stop motion films of my list so it all goes back to my last stop motion film i made!
fricking soldout piece of shit, each year i hate him more
That one girl from the fabelmans
>cinema paradiso
>its a wonderful life

Scarface
Training Day
Total Recall
Jarhead
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
Apocalypse Now
Spiderman 2
These are just some movies I like. I don't watch movies just because ni/tv/ggers say they're amazing.
>tfw you will never be able to make passionate love to rebecca ferguson after a nice dinner date at a steakhouse.
>Not one person picking My Blue Heaven
ngmi
Still no Tombstone or Thin Red Line is very disappointing.
>Still no Tombstone or Thin Red Line is very disappointing.
‘Wyatt Earp’ was better than ‘Tombstone’.
That's just being contrarian for the sake of it
>That's just being contrarian for the sake of it
Director of triangle of sadness
What a frickin tryhard
>a swedish love story
was pretty good but that's pretty pedo pick ngl
Pajeet guy from RRR (lmao at this internet connection)
Ofc he likes his movies
most of the women have at least 1 disney movie and romcom
And most of the guys have a movie with over the top violence. Is that surprising?
There is no such thing as objectively perfect taste. Movie tastes are a completely subjective opinion and anyone ITT shaming others for enjoying certain movies are midwits who just want to come off as intellectually superior patricians.
>I realize i have shit taste so i'll do damage control
Don't worry, Anon. (You) are still a gay
Guess I hit home a little too hard. Classic projection.
>I'll do the projection reverse card to save face
Try again.
For (You)
Except in this case you know it's true. You wouldn't have replied if I wasn't spot on.
>I'll try hard so i convince myself i'm not a gay with shit taste
>You wouldn't have replied if I wasn't spot on.
>Doesn't realize this applies to (You)
Try hard. Kek
Captcha: DMGGAS
Alright Mr pseud. Let's hear your top 4 if you are so confident in your superior taste and intellect.
You're a massive pussy and will never post it lmao
If I'm a pussy then come frick me
Them liking Fight Club and Taxi Driver is like a slaver liking Django Unchained
The two in the middle are his picks, the ones at the edges are her picks
What are her favorite movies?
The social network, 12 angry men, Rosemary's baby, the big lebowski
source?
actually not a bad list if true ignoring social network
I just made up a list of what I think fits her vibe
>Into the Wild
>Snow White
>Twilight Breaking Dawn Part II
>The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas
yes, she is that in love with herself
she probably dosen't watch movies
Mine would be in no order
High Noon
Jurrassic Park
An American Werewolf in London
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Never been kissed is her pick, rest are his
I have never seen Temura Morrison in anything other than Star Wars. Is that any good?
he's convincing as a perpetually angry wifebeater.
that movie in particular is very good yes
veganism, not even once
makes you look fricking gaunt holy shit
Where the frick is Tom cruises picks
he didn't want to do it. he said he loves too many movies to pick 4
You know all of these are bait lists when none of them have The Matrix, Transformers, Armageddon, or Jurassic Park. Fricking midtwit actors
Jlaw has Jurassic Park
Literal every basic b***h millennial internet man has Fellowship on their list.
Why would I care about that?
This, don't even bother wasting a spot on it. It's most people's favorite movie.
You are the male version of girls who where uggs, like Starbucks, pumpkin spice, and The Notebook.
Sorry you feel that way, femanon.
With those picks? You need to go outside more often. The male version of the Ugg boots wearer hasn’t even heard of those 4 movies
Who the frick hasn't heard of Fellowship of the Ring and the Matrix?
Normal people don’t generally watch those types of films. Most people you’d stop on the street wouldn’t know or wouldn’t have seen those films.
Hmm yes totally right anon
Do the math of earnings for both films va ticket cost and you’ll realise that while a lot of people watched the films worldwide it’s a drop in a bucket and you’d still struggle to find people who watched them in most towns in the US
If by "normal people" you mean people under the age of 20 I believe you.
Most of the answers are unique but seeing Godfather over and over is annoying.
>and thought provoking
Why do normies love that word so much?
What else would you call films that provoke thoughts? I watched Dogtooth and I thought about it a lot afterwards. How else would I word the thinking that took place after watching?
A true romance enjoyer. About Time is very good.
Film taste is subjective, and by that I mean objective if you really wanna be reductionist about it but there’s no way of telling who likes what so the best you have to deal with is that some people like different things.
How the frick does not a single person have Tree of Life?
I lot of people get filtered by the dinosaurs
yeah, terrible cgi tends to knock movies down a peg for me too.
>More Goslingkino than DiCaprioslop
Apologize
For me it's
>Tree of Life
>Passion of Christ
>Signs
>Prince of Egypt
>
I asked my wife to name mine for me and she says...
Maverick
Master and Commander
Titanic
Empire Strikes Back
If she's wrong then you don't deserve her
Wrong?Hell no. She knows my weak spots. There's a few more I can throw in there.
Very fun thread, anons.
Temple Grandin
Prospero’s Books
Young Sherlock Holmes
Queen Margot
