Every character being “ambiguously bi” with little to no evidence. I browse the site a lot and it’s ridiculous how gay some of the people who post on it are.
It was over when the Brian Blessed article - which was a gag article where the font got progressively larger, because of how he's known for shouting his lines - got destroyed by 1 pussy in the talk section ranting about how it wasn't "accessible."
That, and the anime nerds insisting that literally all of their favorite japanese cartoons had to be an example in literally every single trope.
It’s better than it used to be because they cracked down on articles being pseudo-forums. No I do not care about your headcanon of Anakin Skywalker on a trope page about “Magic realism”
It used to be decent, now it's ruined because of massive autists that insert their own baseless interpretations of characters and genres. If you only want to read about a definition of a trope then it should suffice.
and even from the very beginning, the entire thing was a race for autists to include their favorite show/webcomic/cartoon/video game/anime into as many examples as possible as if it was a contest to validate their media of choice. absolutely insane phenomenon
I find it is like wikipedia, good to give a very basic example and run down of a concept rather than having to type it all out. Also great for looking up something you like (especially books) and finding related media. The huge downside is it is like wikipedia/MiniTruth and the constant Redditors adding fanfic eg I don't give a frick about your Red Dawn spin off story that has the 1984 NY Yankees forming a resistance cell.
to me it used to be something interesting to binge for a few hours. at some point I did notice the occasional entry going out of its way to blow a lib flavored fart in my face though
I tried fixing the “Batman” character main page saying he was ambiguously israeli by pointing out he’s a canonical christian who celebrates Christmas and it got deleted by the homosexual mods
Cringe, the site got hijacked by leftists and trannies years ago
It's a good time waster
how so? Can you provide examples?
No.
every entry has to have a harsher in hindsight listing because of metoo or cops beating blacks or Trump or some dumb shit.
They do strain themselves on those.
>Spider Man saying its Pizza Time takes on a much harsher light when his love of ovens is revealed
The 'purge of pure pornography' or whatever they called it was the exact moment the site died.

Once, it was the based kind of cringe. Now, it's the cringe kind of normie (also known as Reddit).
It got super neutered and clogged with ads. It used to be a fun place to get a bunch of way less formal discussion of media. Now its all pussified
Cringe
>thread.
Neither, it simply is. It's a dictionary for shit that happens in media.
High-info + no scrolling = based. Basically cliff notes so you can skip reading/watching.
Endless scrolling + try-hard points/examples = cringe. Useless waffling of liberal degrees in action that contributes nothing tangible to society.

They just became no fun allowed

All The Tropes is better
It used to be decent, now it's ruined because of massive autists that insert their own baseless interpretations of characters and genres. If you only want to read about a definition of a trope then it should suffice.
how much different is it now compared to literally 10 years ago?
based because of the cringe
and even from the very beginning, the entire thing was a race for autists to include their favorite show/webcomic/cartoon/video game/anime into as many examples as possible as if it was a contest to validate their media of choice. absolutely insane phenomenon
It's a website for bonafide autists, like Deviantart.

Is that real?
Cringe when they purged most of the israeli tropes because too many people were noticing.
The only use I have for it is finding semi-obscure sources of media that contain my particular fetishes.
It's still pretty useful but it's no longer fun to idly browse
Formerly based, now cringe as hell ran by SCP-tier gays. Just use allthetropes instead.
their Trivia pages are copied from IMDb

never been good for anything besides finding obscure media with X thing you like
