Based or gay?

Description cites "diversity" as a central plot line. Is this worth watching for the scifi aspect or is it a pile of woke garbage pushing identity politics agendas?

It has good moments, the constant insertion of The Message™ is tiresome though.

Appreciate the honest feedback. I'm pretty time poor so don't want to piss away my spare moments on yiddish agenda messaging. I just wish they made good stuff like The Expanse more frequently.

It has some serious space kino moments so I would almost say it’s worth it for that, but if you have no free time there’s probably better shit to watch.

If you have an Apple TV subscription, then I would recommend Severence. I don’t recall any overt wokeness in that and the story, the pacing, the characters, the set is all top notch.

I think For All Mankind is better than Expanse. It's made by the same guy that made Battlestar Galactica.

Big call. I wish Expanse had spun off a series set on one of the stations or asteroids, there's so many cool plot lines beyond just the detective Miller one ie smugglers, OPA etc.

Joel KINOman does what he can to salvage this shit heap. Everything in space is usually pretty cool but the nonstop relationship and like this guy said insertion of The Message every chance they get is exhausting on the earthside stuff

I don't understand why you guys insist on watching modern goyslop when there's an immense amount of kino from before the woke era.

Noice. Interesting choice of Seaquest but I remember that was pretty tight back in the dat.

The central focus is on the space race and politufal drama, but almost every season has a b plot relating to gays, if that's a deal breaker then don't watch it. I watch it because of the space stuff that started out based on real life programs and cancelled projects but the current season has really spiralled into all out sci fi shit so it's less interesting to me.

          Great synopsis, appreciate it!

I think its good, yes it has some very liberal plots but for me its more reminiscent of the shows in the 90s, its liberal but bearable(and sadly this means much better then other series currently).

          See above. Thanks!

Kinda goes off the rails after they bring in the aliens but s1 is pretty enjoyable.

Any other decent scifi shows from the last couple of years / currently?

I saw this the other day, just wish they could make feature or episode length content of similar quality:

There is a pretty long plotline involving the black woman. She is still mildly relevant but at one point it was between her and a Ruskie taking the first step on the Mars. She talks shit to the MC because he is a white male and implying he has privilege despite him CLEARLY busting his ass off and making many sacrifices to get where he is.

Why can't they just make unadulterated scifi and not inject israelite propaganda into it

"Soap opera in space" is an apt description.
As near as I can tell, EVERY character who gets screentime inevitably makes bad and selfish decisions that everyone else has to deal with.
It's cool to see the alternate tech though.

    >based or gay
    The year is 1992.
The American people have elected a lesbian president.
And there are gay Black folk on Mars
