Unironically yes
why?
Yes
when cylons have the upper hand
>"humanity enslaved us, we're justified in killing all of it even though the majority weren't involved."
when cylons are in a position of weakness
>"if you kill us you're evil, we made a mistake and we're not all responsible! even though unlike humanity for us to commit the genocide required a consensus!"
they seem duplicitous
Brutal mogging by Grace
both of these are correct
tricia helfer is a surprisingly good actress. she kind of looks like shes just on the show to be eye candy but shes actually better than most of the other actors and actresses on the show like grace park lol
She'll always be EDI to me.
holy shit im moronic i never realized that was her. her voice did seem familiar
was thinking about this when i watched it for the first time just recently. also, gaius baltar is one of the most interesting characters in any show.
the show should have pushed james callis into a much larger career than he ended up having. he really hasn't done anything notable since bsg, its very surprising. he's not only the most interesting character, other than his weird mormon shit in the final season, but hes one of the best actors on the show
he had that stint in Eureka. After that, poofed.
he was recently on Picard. sure he's not A-list but he's still getting work across 3 decades. i'm sure his career has been fine.
>Picard Season 2
well, you're not lyin'. He's getting work alright.
I just watched the series for the first time recently as well and I had the same feeling. And the actor did a great job of with the "I can see the evil robot lady in my head anxiety".
they can genocide my dick
Would you betray your species for a loyal Number 8 wife?
no i want a number 3 role playing as xena
god more battlestar girls
Imagine if they invented squats before instagram...
Im midway through season 4 and I will need to rewatch everything atleast 1 more time to develop a proper opinion. Is the ending bad or no? What is the general consensus on the ending of this show? The first 3 seasons were absolute kino.
It's okay. The Final Five reveal was kind of disappointing.
when i watched the show as it was airing i felt like the end of s3 is when it went off the rails, but on rewatching it i feel like everything after s1 was a dropoff. it still had a lot of really good episodes and moments, but they're obviously just trying to string things out with no clear direction.
the end is shit. shows a fun ride for 3 seasons then s4 is bleh
Yeah I think it’s good until the New Caprica aftermath ends, when the resentment from the New Caprica characters is over and the story moves on which I think is midway through s3 maybe a bit less than that
After that the show lost focus
The ending wasn’t bad per se but it could’ve done a lot better in some regards
i have absolutely 0 doubt in my mind that ellen was never supposed to be a cylon when they were filming the new caprica stuff. that was supposed to be the end of the her character. they just randomly decided to make her a cylon while writing season 4 because there weren't any worthy characters left that should have been a cylon lol.
the ship's doctor should have been one
nah that would have been lame. tory being a cylon was already a bottom of the barrel choice, she was a non-character the entire series. i dont even know why the frick they killed billy off, him being a cylon would have been better
>nah that would have been lame
the entire concept was lame, it would have been funny at least
>i dont even know why the frick they killed billy off
the actor tried to negotiate for more money and got written off
>the actor tried to negotiate for more money and got written off
so him being dumb wasn't an act i see
he wasn't committed to the show the way the producers wanted him to be so they agreed to write him off
The show could have been ok until
New Caprica was introduced.
The secondary series got neat near the end.
No it was moronic and didn’t really make sense to most of the models outside of Cavil
Yes. There is literally not one genuinely good human in the show. Even Helo is just a self centered simp who only thinks with his dick and has no loyalty to his species. Humans in the show are nothing but power hungry traitors cowards and short sighted butthole idiots and the fleet is a defacto military dictatorship under the control of Adama with Rosaline being a figurehead that has no real power. The colony humans had zero redeeming traits or values and operated more closely to Communist China than any other contemporary social group. There was not one point where I ever wanted them to survive and I always hoped the show would go full throttle and end with the humans killed off and Hera and some other half cylon starting a new race.
i just finished season 3
I know they never introduced aliens because of budget/thematic reasons but the old show had a sense of mystery that the new show lacked. The world building got more diverse when they split the races up into factions but still.
I think it worked well and it was nice seeing something different from regular scifi
Space in the series is depicted as very barren with only a few worlds depicted as habitat outside of the colonies. It’s its own thing
They could’ve thrown in one weird mystery that didn’t directly related to the plot to imply there may be more out there
I like this series but the more they revealed about the Cylons the harder it became to sympathise with their position. They barely seemed to understand what it meant to be self-aware once they were explored in more depth, their intentions in genociding humanity seemed to be on the intellectual and moral level of a petulant toddler.
I kinda dropped the show partly because I didn't know what the frick the robots wanted and the mystery was extended out so long that most of what they did seemed nonesensical and random rather than interesting.
Maybe I should finish it? Got too bored
why did the papers lack corners?
an in-joke to the production having to cut corners financially when they made the miniseries
seriously?
yes
it looks kind of cool and futuristic i guess. thats about it
Feels weird because I love Adama's character but I sided with Gaeta's mutiny
The weak season 4 writing made what Adam was doing seem crazy
gaeta wasn't really wrong, it was zarek that really fricked the whole thing up because he's a psycho
>the villain makes more sense than the hero
What went wrong with the writing?
Gaeta’s actions made sense, it was Adama who betrayed humanity by allying with the Cylons with nothing to go on that they weren’t planning betrayal.
Remember the last time the Cylons worked their way in and gained the trust of people it killed 50 billion humans.
Gaeta was a hero.
absolutely yes
Number six is justified to commit whatever she wants.
fat lee
Impressive, very nice, now let's see thin Adama
I want (right) to genocide my penis
