Am I the only one who actually kinda likes The Big Bang Theory? I've known far too many arrogant nerds who actually act like Sheldon Cooper, and I feel like the show is pretty self-aware. People seem to call it a "redditor show" but redditors seem to hate it because it makes fun of their precious nerd "culture".

>Am I the only one
8 billion people live on Earth
the answer to this is always "no"
i didn't read the rest of your post
>umm... actually
Everyone here only hates it because we were all nicknamed Sheldon in school. I know I wasn’t the only one.
I used to act that way, but I'd like to think I've grown out of it. It's completely normal for a 13 year old smart kid to act like Sheldon, I think a lot of people haven't grown up though. It's fun to make fun of your past self.
>because we were all nicknamed Sheldon in school
Shut up zoomer moron
Cope.
I didn't actually watch Big Bang Theory because shows with laughtracks are made for the mentally-challenged.
But I marathoned Young Sheldon and thought it extremely well-written, so maybe I give it a chance?
I just watch in the background because my parents have it on but it's a decent enough sitcom. Never saw the spinoff
Your parents sound like goobers.
Because they consoom a different product than you?
No.
BBT was always playing in the break room when I worked at the grocery store. Whenever I sat down to watch I was always surprised by how good it was. Not amazing by any means but certainly funnier than your average laughtrack sitcom
Anyone else wanna frick the small blonde girl in this show?
I remember hating it when I was younger, now I like it because Sheldon constantly belittles Penny for being a prostitute and Leonard for being a lil b***h. Howard is a uberisraelite and Raj is a loser.
She's 4'11...
>the episode where the girls dress up as disney princesses
Is this actress in anything else? She's so attractive to me
>Is this actress in anything else? She's so attractive to me
She's the main character of the Night Court remake.
It was ok but no 30Rock or even Community.
Man Community is so cringe, it's peak millennial nerd humor. 30 Rock is fine.
Didn't redditors write the last season of Community?
i watched it a couple years ago after seeing a few episodes of it + young sheldon in a hotel during a vacation and thinking 'huh those weren't that bad'
it's a pretty funny show, gives an interesting look into how hollywood viewed nerds "pre-marvel" and then you can see it change as the seasons go on, it's very cool
The only real negative in my mind is the laugh track, which i don't even really recognize after watching a few episodes
the girls are very cute
to expand a bit, sheldon's autism is quite often made fun of, as well as howards israeliness, penny's prostituteishness, bernadette's b***hiness, etc. It's not some show that is praising nerds and showing them as cool etc, I know one thing that gets brought up a lot is the "haha im playing mario on a poorly coded n64 controller" and thinking the joke is that sheldon is doing nerd shit, but the actual punchline of that joke is how everyone calls him an autistic moron
people who used the internet to post 10 years ago simply were mad that there was a show actively making fun of autists and getting away with it
>The only real negative in my mind is the laugh track, which i don't even really recognize after watching a few episodes
>the girls are very cute
Another negative are the episodes where the episode's main focus is pop culture/celebrities (Wil Wheaton and that science cripple). When it focuses on the main cast, they're actually pretty good.
Really liked the first season, in the following seasons it turned into a standard relationships sitcoms with "haha look how autistic sheldon is" addon. Really no match for It's Always Sunny.
Always Sunny is just vulgar from what I've seen. It seems "safe edgy", which I absolutely despise
>It seems "safe edgy", which I absolutely despise
It lost a bit of steam the last few seasons but its decline has been nowhere near as bad as tbbt's. Might want to give the episodes that the born again woke creators have had removed from streaming services a shot.
I really have no interest in that
>Bernadette will never let you stick in her butt because it would probably kill her
It’s not accurate enough, not even Silicon Valley fully articulated the necessity of Total Nerd Death to a satisfactory degree.
Please find some white friends, move to a white area, and actually do some political organization. you're just spinning your wheels in hate
About 2 years ago I binged TBBT as a stupid show to fall asleep to instead of re-watching other sitcoms for the 12th time. The characters are well-defined and performed. The cast has chemistry. The tropes are no worse than other sitcoms. But it does insult viewer intelligence much more than a show like Friends or How I Met Your Mother. The laugh track is the go-to criticism for everybody, but it has merit. It is absolutely the worse laugh track in the history of television. It should be the shining example of what not to do with a laugh track. Sets are much more recycled than things like Seinfeld diner. Every episode it seems takes place in the apartment, lunch room, comic book store. There are many sets from other shows outside the main coffee shops, bars, diners, etc., that become familiar and known. TBBT has basically nothing, turning the show into a monotonous, repetitive chore. I could go on but this is turning into a wall of text.
Favorite episode: The Maternal Capacitance, S2E15. Shelton meets Leonard's mother.
great episode
the bit with the tea is great
>it's cold
>i'll start again
>sheldon, to leonards mother: "i have the same problem with him"
I watch it at the gym so it's all subtitles but that means you focus less on the laugh track and more on the dialogue and its actually pretty good.
You've never been to the gym in your life, playa.
I go every other day. The reason why I even got into TBBT is because all the TVs that play over the treadmills either play CNN or Fox and I don't have time for that so I watch in the hopes it's an episode where Sheldon dabs on Penny.
