personally, this is exactly what i want. after she abandoned the taller proportions, the comic was stuck for a while in this weird in-between where it wasn't quite cartoony and wasn't quite realistic. they had these big cute bobbleheads on small, spindly realistic bodies with upsettingly humanlike hands and muscles and stuff. i LOVE the way paulo looks on this page, so sonic-like! if they're not gonna go full furry, then at least make them cartoony like this. it's perfect!
I partly agree, but the heads are still gigantic and the limbs need to be proportionately thicker to offset that. What we are seeing now is probably an artifact of Taeshi's angular incompetence.

MikexLucy is probably the most toxic relationship in the comic, and any sane person could see that Lucy's dependency issues (which she never gets over, just transfers onto someone else) and Mike obsession shows that they should never even be in the sane room, let alone together.
PauloxDaisy is shit because they both prop up the worst traits about each other. Paulo excuses Daisy's constant need for attention and affirmation due to inadequacies as everyone else's problem (best expl. see Abbey), and Daisy is so thirsty she either ignores how Paulo can be or excuses it. Neither of them genuinely try to make the other better because they stupid believe (or like) the other for how they are for the most part.
PauloxLucy is the one I hate the most. Lucy is the biggest c**t in the world to him, uses him when convenient, and has only ever wanted him around when she wants to feel good about herself. MikexDaisy isn't as bad as the others but isn't that great either. Up until eternal flame i accepted Mike and Lucy as plausible. They are young, still figuring stuff out, they could've fixed things with time. Still hate how fricking glacial every single thing in this comic is and how every single fricking chapter does nothing of significance to advance plot or character.
It's just like, hey sit through 30-40 pages of people running around in circles, saying the same shit they've said the past 10 years. With the occasional queer-baiting or crack-ship being thrown in there to try to deflect the fact everything will stay exactly the same.
It's SO fricking boring holy frick, Taeshi must've given herself a lobotomy me or something to even repeatedly throw out the same ass garbage for the past nearly 2 decades.
Lucy's whole problem is that she fricks around, but never finds out. Acapulco through to December was the one time she found out, but it meandered into just being misery porn, so she didn't actually find out anything.
Then Taeshi backpedaled that era; reset all the characters and brought Lucy back so she could call do-over.
Lucy did find out and actually improved a smidgen, but apparently that was so traumatic that she is now in fake it till you make it mode, with cheat days aplenty.

Food for Thought: How interested would you be in reading a chapter/BCI that fully if not exclusively on the adult characters (parents, Roseville High staff, etc) instead? Could an effective story be told through that perspective?
That depends on what adults you're thinking of. The parents barely have a personality so you'd need several chapters to make them interesting.
There are ways to make them useful, though. Put Lani and several parents together, all waiting their turns at school during a parent-teacher conferences. Lucy's mom and Mike's mom can be all childhood friends and discuss their own lives, then Paulo's dad comes in and introduces himself, then David's mom walks in and they chat about being single parents to hormonal idiots. Abbey's foster parents talk to Daisy's parents about the breakup. You can even play with Jasmine's parents showing up and ranting about their daughter only dating older men like Paulo and possibly Abbey, only to realise their parents are right next to them.
Basically, tell a story about the normal cast through the parents' perspective.
All I want is go see is at least one of these two work his shit out and get better. I get taeshi is incentivized to drag this out forever but sometimes it feels like the entire comic is driven purely by spite for her own readers, ie she intentionally tries for the absolute worst possible direction she could take
I'm no stranger to how fricked BCBs writing is but I've always wanted to believe there's some method to the madness and no one would dedicate so much time to something like this without an actual story they want to tell, but especially after last chapter I need to see taeshi actually fricking do something for once because this is getting insane

personally, this is exactly what i want. after she abandoned the taller proportions, the comic was stuck for a while in this weird in-between where it wasn't quite cartoony and wasn't quite realistic. they had these big cute bobbleheads on small, spindly realistic bodies with upsettingly humanlike hands and muscles and stuff. i LOVE the way paulo looks on this page, so sonic-like! if they're not gonna go full furry, then at least make them cartoony like this. it's perfect!

Neither. None of the ships, but especially between the main characters, are any good at all. The characters are shit, and the relationships that they make are shit.
MikexLucy is probably the most toxic relationship in the comic, and any sane person could see that Lucy's dependency issues (which she never gets over, just transfers onto someone else) and Mike obsession shows that they should never even be in the sane room, let alone together.
PauloxDaisy is shit because they both prop up the worst traits about each other. Paulo excuses Daisy's constant need for attention and affirmation due to inadequacies as everyone else's problem (best expl. see Abbey), and Daisy is so thirsty she either ignores how Paulo can be or excuses it. Neither of them genuinely try to make the other better because they stupid believe (or like) the other for how they are for the most part.
PauloxLucy is the one I hate the most. Lucy is the biggest c**t in the world to him, uses him when convenient, and has only ever wanted him around when she wants to feel good about herself. Paulo is the most pathetic person ever. The more horrible that Lucy is to him the harder thus useless fricker simps for this b***h. Dude deserves to lose his balls.
MikexDaisy isn't as bad as the others but isn't that great either. Mike has never been interested in Daisy like that and, baring brain damage or severe emotional damage, that actually changing seems unlikely. Daisy has always been obsessed with Mike (until recently) to the point that Mike has seemed like more of a novelty object to her than an actual love interest Imo. She likes the idea of being with Mike more than Mike himself.
Of course MikexLucy and PauloxDaisy are endgame, so there's no point in acting like any of thus actually matters in the first place.
Daisy giving up on Mike makes sense these days, but he used to have multiple attractive traits so I can get her obsession. Where the main characters are obviously destined to be endgame, but you introduce side characters and imply attraction or chemistry. Childhood friends, hot and mean types, and former crushes are all popular archetypes. These "side ships" don't need to (and usually don't) develop into actual relationships, since narratively their purpose is just to introduce conflict and stress-test the primary ship.

Does Roseville even have a college? All the college names mentioned in the comic and in non canon taeshi art seem to be located out of town.
Lucy did seem happier when she still had the pets. She was always nice around them. Her surrogate teenage mom behaviour made her a lot more tolerable.

I find it funny that Augustus knows what triggers Lucy, knows she can't really be close to Mike and that she can be a c**t, and yet after the whole "you reset all her progress" bullshit they still let her go around on her own, and the first thing she does is transport in front of Mike constantly like some sort of add-on to show how much she doesn't care, and now she's happy™ because Taeshi says she is?
If she ever does hop down off her high horse to help Mike, he could just tell her to get back to her happy life and forget about him and she would not have much of a counterargument.
If that happened Taeshi would just use her ultimate move, "retroactive retconning", and make Lucy cry about how dare he imply she doesn't suffer, how seeing Mike like that makes her hurt and how she isn't happy herself because she worries about him

I really wish that Mike was allowed to point out the obvious. That he has seen her be plenty happy until he showed up, how angry and hostile she gets around him, and how (thanks to shitty storytelling) his presence has been bad for her. Clearly it is in her best interests to stay away lest she get hurt again. And frankly, given this is pain-averse Lucy we are talking about, she would do just that. In a better more coherent comic anyway.
The moment Lucy accepts reality is the moment her body implodes after realizing there should have been consequences from jumping from the roof and spilling your Heinz, Hokuto no Ken style

Lucy needs consequences so she can grow as a person. It's hinted that she's trying, she just needs the opportunity to reflect every now and then to make it stick.
I see Lucy's attempts as hollow and self-serving. Exploring how deeply she means anything (and forcing her to confront ugly truths) would be an interesting route to take.
Taeshi really needs to humanize Lucy, Pronto. The closest we've gotten was the chapter when she walked home with Paulo, got mad enough to put claw marks in her palms, and was given shit for her obvious high and mighty attitude. Lucy's whole problem is that she fricks around, but never finds out. Acapulco through to December was the one time she found out, but it meandered into just being misery porn, so she didn't actually find out anything.
Then Taeshi backpedaled that era; reset all the characters and brought Lucy back so she could call do-over.
Funnily enough the only time Lucy finds out is in BCIs, like when she died and became a shitty ghost.

Food for Thought: How interested would you be in reading a chapter/BCI that fully if not exclusively on the adult characters (parents, Roseville High staff, etc) instead? Could an effective story be told through that perspective?

That depends on what adults you're thinking of. The parents barely have a personality so you'd need several chapters to make them interesting.
There are ways to make them useful, though. Put Lani and several parents together, all waiting their turns at school during a parent-teacher conferences. Lucy's mom and Mike's mom can be all childhood friends and discuss their own lives, then Paulo's dad comes in and introduces himself, then David's mom walks in and they chat about being single parents to hormonal idiots. Abbey's foster parents talk to Daisy's parents about the breakup. You can even play with Jasmine's parents showing up and ranting about their daughter only dating older men like Paulo and possibly Abbey, only to realise their parents are right next to them.
Basically, tell a story about the normal cast through the parents' perspective.
