Nawww that's a totally normal non-manipulative thing to say. Also a totally understandable thing to say when you've been ghosting your boyfriend for months. Veronica should have just left it up to our imagination what Sandy told Mike to keep him around because not even the biggest wimp on the planet would take her back after this.
>cat characters are emotional and manipulative >dog characters are loyal and willing to put their feelings aside for the good of their friends
what did taeshi mean by this
Exactly. My guess of what will happen regarding Mike: He'll join the track race team, and will find a new joy in his life. It'll be the first of many things he'll come into contact, that will make him able to focus on other stuff to focus on, instead of only thinking about lucy and sandy. In time, he'll notice how sandy adds nothing positive to his life, and will dump her. Lucy probably goes through a similar route of her own. Some time passes, and they both make peace with each other again. Series ends, credits roll.
>ghosted him >treated his friends like shit >treated him like shit >fricked hairdresser >lied to him about it
That's five mistakes
100% she'd say stuff like 'b-but i didn't ghost you! I was just busy with work! I told you so, you just don't understand my side of things!'
Don’t think I really truly hated Sandy til now holy shit frick this b***h
The flas were all there man. Let me tell ya, ever since the ghosting and the way she behaved around mike when she came to visit him in person i came to despise her. I really don't get why mike is so cucked to go after something that clearly will bear no fruit. They have nothing in common.
I took this scene in "Model Girlfriend", especially combined with how she intitally loved video games but became neurotic about losing, to be more complex than just "Sandy bad" but I guess I was wrong.
Even disregarding this scene in particular, the way she interacted with mike through this and other chapter from then on is just awkward in general, both of them have very different interests, ideas and focus. I mean sure, you don't have to be into everything your loved one is, but there's barely anything connecting the two i feel like.
Besides, i know taeshi made sandy terrible on purpose so that people would wish mike and lucy to become a reality, so i knew there's no point in defending her or expecting too much of her character. The entire point of her character is to elevate lucy, even though this didn't happen yet.
Imagine if he just walked away in the opposite direction without saying a word, instead of going towards her and apologizing. She'd have a mental breakdown
To be honest, i agree. It's like they were made to be strawmen, textbook unlikeable characters; Sandy's a manipulative hoe, and Mike's a worm, but they weren't always like this.
It applies to other characters, too. Paulo, Daisy, and Lucy were three-dimensional and interesting, Abbey, Augustus, and Sue were better rounded.
Since Lucy returned most characters have been flattened out into being one-note. Paulo and Lucy's development makes some sense, even though I don't like what they've turned into. But Mike, Sandy, and Augustus turned into completely different characters.
>Since Lucy returned most characters have been flattened out into being one-note. Paulo and Lucy's development makes some sense, even though I don't like what they've turned into.
I really hope the narrative we're expected to swallow isn't "Mike ruined Lucy," because A) that destroys her personal agency/accountability and B) Lucy's been a horrid preachy c**t since coming back. But given how Mike's so enamored over her awful behavior earlier that night, coupled with that "back to square one" load of horseshit Augustus peddles the following morning, I fear that's exactly what Taeshi means.
Taeshi was right the first time in hindsight, this is too much of a fricking slog. Two talking heads just talking talking talking for weeks. The format of the comic doesn't lead itself to this kind of writing. She better at least be taking this vacation to build the buffer back up.
I agree. It's even more of a slog now that we know for sure how it's going to end. There's a place for tragic stories where you get told the ending before it happens, but Mike being a doormat had gone stale long before Eternal Flame even started. I can't imagine what Taeshi thinks is engaging about any of this at this point.
Because Mike going back to Sandy was so fricking moronic even her own readers wouldn't shut up about it. This is the closest she can come to fixing her own shit.
Maybe she's trying to buy some time, too. These pages are simpler and the script was already written, so maybe it's just being done so that she can have some more time to work on other chapters or something.
The weird thing is, this chapter is better put together than most others since Lucy's return. For all the b***hing about how this drags and is unnecessary, I'd wager most anons only feel that way because we know where this is all going and that this explanation still clashes with the aftermath. So even though Taeshi has managed to make something decent in isolation, it's fallen victim to her overarching incompetence.
Knowing where it goes is definitely part of the problem, but there's also the "one (partial) sentence per panel" problem in pages with very uninteresting panels. Shots of Sandy's face and Mike lying on bed just aren't very interesting. The pages are also notably more low effort. Even just the minimal coloring the anon in these threads does helps the entire thing feel more alive. Finally, there's the fact that this entire chapter exists solely to reverse the interesting developments that happened in the chapter before it. Even without knowing the end result, you can see Mike warming up to Sandy's manipulation from halfway though and you can work out the end result already.
So, is it the intention to portray mike as a total beta cuck who basically deserved to get cheated on or is Taeshi so out of touch with reality to realize what is and what isnt acceptable in a relationship?
>For the first time I genuinely feel bad for Lucy.
Don't. Part of what had Mike go for Sandy in the first place was Lucy's bullshit. She could have easily been with Mike at this point if she remembered why he chewed her out in december and didn't come back acting like a "Gaslight Gringo Girlboss" type character towards him. I'd still say she's worse despite both of these girls being horrible in general.
Isn't Sandy too stupid to manipulate people?
Flows back and forth depending on how badly she wants sandy to look. Either she sucks because she's an airhead or she sucks because she's actually a manipulator.
She has the mental and emotional capacity of a small child, so she probably assumes that the readers do as well.
Certainly applies to the people who enjoy it because they think the writing is good.
It's funny how Madison is the authors new mary-sue self-insert.
Especially because she's a always bootyblasted buttfrustrated Lebanese.
Which sums up said author perfectly, albeit with the lesbian part being so closeted it's current address is in the post code of Narnia.
Naw, Madison got ejected from the comic in spirit and only shows up in group scenes because she hasn't literally been ejected. She didn't do anything in her own birthday chapter. Taeshi actually listened when the readers hated the character.
Believe it or not, there are Madison simps in the fandom. I do not see the appeal. Regardless she has been reduced to yet another Lucy simp, which is hilarious given her prior insecurity-fueled hatred toward her fellow thunderc**t.
This chapter is dragging on so muuuuuch. I feel like it would have been quite a plot-twist if Mike had lied to his friends at school and told them that he broke up with Sandy. Everyone is happy for him but then we get this chapter revealing that Mike is cheating on Sandy now behind everyone's back.
>I feel like it would have been quite a plot-twist if Mike had lied to his friends at school and told them that he broke up with Sandy.
That requires competent writing, and an investment in characters beyond using them as dolls for your own personal hate-fantasies against your real life SO.
Mike is in the wrong, he's crushed on Lucy long before Sandy ever crushed on Francis. Mike deserves to be heartbroken and if Sandy knows what's good for her she'd go back to Francis and stay away from the scumbag cheater Mike.
Low quality bait, but to be honest, it'd be best for both of them if they just ended this pretend-close-relationship they have, and each of them seeked people who are closer to their own ideals and reality.
OldPaulo definitely. NuPaulo is trying very hard to be the most sensitive cupcake (to women) as he possibly could be, to the point of considering dumping his best friend to appease the whims of the white temptress.
I mean Paulo was drunk so he couldn't have been on his A game.

It's still fricked up to me how Jessica took Paulo's virginity mainly to hurt Tess. Are women really that cruel to eachother?

>Are women really that cruel to eachother?
Absolutely.
While male on male bullying is mostly physical, female on female bullying is almost 100% psychological and emotional abuse. Traits we've carried over from the paleolithic days when using your strengths to attract the most suitable mate and to ward off rivals was necessary for continuation of your bloodline.
She never actually wanted to frick him and only did it so she could gloat to Tess over it. She mocked Paulo to distract from feeling like a prostitute.
I'm telling you, Sandy and Lucy are Psychics. Lucy's got way higher raw power, so she's spec'ed into minor reality warping as well, but Sandy's got more precision and control.
Mike is dormant and only channels his powers unconsciously, resulting in rare amazing physical feats, inadvertently charming Paulo and the track team, and briefly dominating daisy before wiping her memory of the event.
women deserve a bullet to the head
>you made me do it, i did it cause i miss you
Nawww that's a totally normal non-manipulative thing to say. Also a totally understandable thing to say when you've been ghosting your boyfriend for months. Veronica should have just left it up to our imagination what Sandy told Mike to keep him around because not even the biggest wimp on the planet would take her back after this.
Unfortunately, playing on Mike's guilt is a great way to get your way with him, historically speaking.
>cat characters are emotional and manipulative
>dog characters are loyal and willing to put their feelings aside for the good of their friends
what did taeshi mean by this
Remember, dogs are black people. They're physically incapable of interbreeding with cats which represent every other race. Make of that what you will.
Rachel is black?
Duh, she's the 3rd biggest prostitute in this comic.
It is an old belief by some readers that all dogs in the comic, or perhaps more specifically David, are black, for some reason.
"Rachel" and "Aaron" vaugely suggests israeli.
It is well known that cats are the women of the pet kingdom.
>Is one mistake all it takes for you to not love me anymore?
"One mistake" you have been making for months b***h.
Mike needs to wise up that she is a manipulative b***h. Hopefully the lads can set him straight but I doubt it
Exactly. My guess of what will happen regarding Mike: He'll join the track race team, and will find a new joy in his life. I can't hate Sandy for the same reason I can't hate Mike: it's blatant character assassination, inconsistent with what's been established.
To be honest, i agree. It's like they were made to be strawmen, textbook unlikeable characters; Sandy's a manipulative hoe, and Mike's a worm, but they weren't always like this.

Good point, she's been hollowed out and turned into a puppet at this point
This scene is so stupid why is she like that?
Their like 16 have fun holy shit.
She has a full time job
>Fricking a guy behind your back
>"One mistake"
Females everybody
>ghosted him
>treated his friends like shit
>treated him like shit
>fricked hairdresser
>lied to him about it
That's five mistakes

Everything about this is just bland.
So, is it the intention to portray mike as a total beta cuck who basically deserved to get cheated on or is Taeshi so out of touch with reality to realize what is and what isnt acceptable in a relationship?
Yes.
>one mistake
That Mike knows of
Finally, the manipulation is happening
Don’t think I really truly hated Sandy til now holy shit frick this b***h
This chapter is making Mike look more like a backwoods moron than ever before. This is supposed to make us sympathize with him?
For the first time I genuinely feel bad for Lucy. Mike is a fricking moron for letting himself get manipulated by this b***h.
Why? Lucy is awful and manipulative in her own ways. Look at how she uses and discards people without a second thought.
I dont feel bad for Lucy. She is still a b***h. All this does is make me feel more frustrated that Mike is buying this and doesnt end this farce
>For the first time I genuinely feel bad for Lucy.
Don't. Part of what had Mike go for Sandy in the first place was Lucy's bullshit. Modern women in a nutshell.
Mike needs a gay friend like Jessica to convince him to switch teams because women are clearly all out to manipulate him
>I cheated because of you !!1!
I know the comic is bad, but we can all agree the representation of womens is top notch
This is pretty blatant. Taeshi appears to be spelling it out for the readers now.
She has the mental and emotional capacity of a small child, so she probably assumes that the readers do as well.
Certainly applies to the people who enjoy it because they think the writing is good.
Telling Madison that you're glad she's outgrowing her lesbian phase and that she'll one day make a man real happy.
Autism
It's funny how Madison is the authors new mary-sue self-insert.
Especially because she's a always bootyblasted buttfrustrated Lebanese.
Which sums up said author perfectly, albeit with the lesbian part being so closeted it's current address is in the post code of Narnia.
Madison is Lucy if she were gay and didn't have everyone kissing her ass. Her attitude would just be seen as annoying in universe.
Naw, Madison got ejected from the comic in spirit and only shows up in group scenes because she hasn't literally been ejected. She didn't do anything in her own birthday chapter. Taeshi actually listened when the readers hated the character.

Isn't Sandy too stupid to manipulate people?
She learned how to do it from all the sleazy businessmen she slept with to get her career going
Women know how to do it instinctively
She is the devil incarnate but also stupid because Taeshi hates her.
reminder taeshi can't have sympathetic sandy because lucy would look bad by comparison
who hurt you guys
Women ruined my life
Sue and Amaya =D
I love
This chapter is dragging on so muuuuuch. I feel like it would have been quite a plot-twist if Mike had lied to his friends at school and told them that he broke up with Sandy. Everyone is happy for him but then we get this chapter revealing that Mike is cheating on Sandy now behind everyone's back.
Why would he do that? It's not a very Mike act.
>I feel like it would have been quite a plot-twist if Mike had lied to his friends at school and told them that he broke up with Sandy.
That requires competent writing, and an investment in characters beyond using them as dolls for your own personal hate-fantasies against your real life SO.
Do not read this comic.
Do not read this post.

Lucy cheated on Mike with Paulo because she was crushing on Mike at the time
Paulo is manipulative and forceful so if anything Lucy was abused by being with him
lolwot
It's bait
OldPaulo definitely. NuPaulo is trying very hard to be the most sensitive cupcake (to women) as he possibly could be, to the point of considering dumping his best friend to appease the whims of the white temptress.
"Not our Lucy!" "Couldn't be precious Lucy!" Cucking him blind! And she gets to be a protagonist? What a sick joke!
Lucy manipulated Paulo into not having sex with her so that later he'd be pent up enough to cum at just a woman's touch
Don't forget Jessica was massively disappointed with Paulo after taking his virginity
I mean Paulo was drunk so he couldn't have been on his A game.
It's still fricked up to me how Jessica took Paulo's virginity mainly to hurt Tess. Are women really that cruel to eachother?

Mike suicide arc when?
Depends, sometimes its just because I feel like it, sometimes its to bump the thread.
another day another page colored
Looks great man, keep up the good work.
you know
all they need to do is make make really horny for sandy
like paulo levels of horny
that way it would make sense him putting up with this shit
Taeshi won't show sandy's eyes so we can't see she's using her geass
She's been using her geASS a lot i reckon
Or lack thereof
Why is she standing next to a pile of wadded up tissues?
She needed to do a lot of cleanup after Francis did her "hair"
Wait a minute, this isn't a haircut.... This is veganal sex!
