Oh damn, I just realized that Taeshi doesn't realize that the audience can't read her mind, so she thinks that figuring things out in her own head is enough. She doesn't understand that the thoughts and ideas she has in her own mind don't act as foreshadowing or conclusions to the comic.
So in the final chapter Lucy will kill Sandy, Daisy will kill Lucy, Augustus will kill Daisy, Abbey will kill Augustus, Alejandro will kill Abbey and Mike and Paulo will become a couple. Truly a Bittersweet Candy Bowl®

I dunno, Paulo and Lucy had better chemistry than Mike and Lucy since the end of volume one. Taeshi says she got turned off by the idea of Lucy "depending" on Paulo so much, but outside of her dependence issues Lucy has very little character so that doesn't seem like a legitimate complaint.
