Why didn't the eagles have a handbrake?
>jeep grand cherokee
i dont wanna say he deserved it, but...
He pulled a Heath Ledger, died in the zenith of his career just when he was starting to go bald and roles were drying up. Now he's remembered with warmth and respect.
I’m not a car guy: is keeping your car parked on a steep incline (like his driveway) bad for your handbrake? I assume it must be on tons of stress all the time.
(I know it was because of faulty firmware in his case, I’m just wondering about general situations)
No. If the handbrake is strong enough to hold it there there will be no movement and nothing to wear the brake surface out.
All automatics have a pin that inserts itself into the drivetrain when the vehicle is shifted into park, preventing it from moving. So even if the parking break fails, it won't actually move
Those pins can break because:
morons slamming it into park while the car is still moving.
and
Normal people putting them into park on a hill, then letting go of the brakes and letting the car "lurch".
Both of which cause stress to the pin, and can cause it to fail over time (or immediately).
So generally its a good idea to use park, the emergency brake, and turning your wheels when parking on a hill.
>Normal people putting them into park on a hill, then letting go of the brakes and letting the car "lurch".
i do this, i didn't know you weren't supposed to.
i do turn the wheels tho
The only think park does it put a pin stop the rotation, its not very strong
I know my father told me if you're really paranoid about this, for manuals you can just put it in first gear and it won't move either
I assume it works the same as
but different
My friend does this because his handbrake doesnt work on his shitbox
On a manual car thats left in gear you are pushing against the engines compression if you try to move it. It would take a huge amount of force to make the engine turn over and since the key isn’t turned it just won’t happen because the compressed air has nowhere to go. It is still best to put the parking brake on when parking in steep slopes tho just in case
I was under the impression that this was common knowledge and used by everyone?
It is but I only ever do it when parking on a slope tbh
>died because Jeeps are dogshit cars
Ask any mechanic which car they'll never buy
Mekkkanikkks are untrustworthy swine, no one asks them anything.
Sarah Gadon acted with Anton Yelchin once in the 2007 film Charlie Bartlett. They ran into each years later shortly before his passing, and after his death Sarah Gadon posted this:
>In my brief but recent encounter with Anton he spoke articulately and passionately about directing his first feature film. What stands out in my mind is the way he spoke about humility as it pertains to the artist. The tragedy and randomness of his accident evokes that same notion of humility and how precious this life is. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. RIP
Are you mentally ill? Asking for the board. Also stop crossposting your moronic ramblings
who the frick cares?
Thank you.
Sarah Gadon is such a thoughtful and caring person. Anton was lucky to have met her in his life.
Make it a buff doge and the moronic one, and the buff one is James Dean dying in a race car while going fast and the car becoming cursed as a result
James dean was going 40 miles an hour when he crashed. Porsches have a notoriously erratic track record when it comes to cornering due to engine placement (according to some car guy I talked to once for five minutes ten years ago at least but I believe him).
>dummy gets squished by a car he forgot to put the brakes on
98% of drivers don't belong on the road for pure stupidity or ignorance
He wasn’t a magician after all
>imagine driving a car that has an electronic handbrake
I really like them in odd Thomas good movie
if he was still alive he'd be making slava ukrani videos non-stop.
it's good he died before he got mindfricked by that shit
>What the frick! You guys are fricking kids in here? I’m telling everyone tomorrow as soon I get my newspaper
ahhhh help I'm stuck and can't get out ahhhhh!!
Was he one of those morons that leaves his car in neutral with the p brake on?
It actually was a firmware update
>Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the manufacturer of the Grand Cherokee, was aware of 2014 and 2015 models having a high rate of rollaway incidents due to a gearshift design that could make it difficult for the driver to determine whether the vehicle was in park or still in gear. FCA had already recalled all 2014–15 Grand Cherokees for this concern in April 2016, but the software patch to repair the vehicles did not reach dealers until the week of Yelchin's death.
>cars have a day 1 patch now
No
He peaked as the natural magician on Curb, he wasn't really in anything great past that and certainly wasn't an amazing talent. Like, yeah, Green Room was okay, sure. But anyone could have played his role.
He was the weakest part of terminator salvation too tbhon
He had cystic fibrosis and would have quite probably be dead by now anyway.
Wait seriously, he had that? Isn't life expectancy for that around 35-40?
Yes, he had it and yes life expectancy is generally not long.
They ever release photos of his crushed corpse?
