>Carefully put together music tracks with mario motifs mixed in

>The movie gets worse reviews because of it
I hate corperate meddling so much it's unreal.

it's an illumination movie, it's his fault if he didn't know what he was getting into
Why would they ask him to make the music then?
>Movie gets worse reviews because of it
Nintendo's wallet says otherwise. Keep crying Disney/Sony shill.
You mean illumination's wallet 🙂
Nintendo, because they will take 50% of the movie's profit as per the movie contract.
And you will take 0% despite all the shitposting you do.
He's not talking about the profits. He's saying the movie got shat on because of the soundtrack.
How many clotshots did you take to become unable to read simple sentences, anon? 3?
I wonder if the Zelda movie will have modern pop songs
If they make it like A Knight's Tale, it'll be kino
It better have Zelda farting if they go that far
That, or the songs in Pan.
Imagine the cringekino if they use WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING LIKE IM P DIDDY in the Zelda movie
They should've made a remix of coconut mall during this scene.
I wonder what the motivation was. Everything was already recorded. What audience watching a Mario movie featuring Donkey Kong is appealed to more with Take on Me over a Donkey Kong music medley?
I think Illumination makes movies based around selling Movie Soundtracks, the Super Mario Movie largely being the exception on account of Nintendo telling them to stop most the time.
are people really buying movie soundtracks in this age of music streaming
>What audience watching a Mario movie featuring Donkey Kong is appealed to more with Take on Me over a Donkey Kong music medley?
the audience of illumination movies like dispacable me, sing, and the grinch?
Do you really think that audience cares about a pop song from 40 years ago? I could understand arguing they don't care either way, but do you really think that actually appeals MORE to them than music related to the thing they showed up to watch?
I think those are meant to be arcade jukebox songs, intended to evoke the memories of the older crowd that played classic Jumpman (1981's Mario).
I don't care what anyone says, Take On Me was a great choice for the soundtrack.
>I'LL BE GONE IN A DAY OR TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It made way too much money for them to care, unfortunately.
A lot of people blame Illumination when it was actually Miyamoto's idea.
Miyamoto knows that most of the Movie's audience are 80s kids.
Does this mean a dvd release would have the original soundtrack on it?
And yet, it worked.
Look out for Spiderverse boy
>We almost lost the Starman theme for a Van Halen song
>Get asked by universal to orchestrate music for the upcoming mario movie
Still got paid, who gives a frick
Artists who want their work to be exposed?
Yeah, the pop music was such a mood killer. Imagine if they cut that dog scene and that needless Take On Me scene and replaced it with more interaction between Donkey and Mario and Mario’s family.
I realized Illumination got insane music licenses when they used a Michael Jackson song in fricking Despicable Me 3 out of all movies. They HAVE to use their songs.
