> be Charlotte Webber
> created by some crippled fan as a shitty spider sona
> have gay as frick tumblr tier design that looks like a cross between a butch lesbian and a prepubescent fat boy
> get adapted into comics
> immediately get turned into beautiful, skinny redhead
Wtf has there even something so based?
Just for reference, this is how she was drawn in the comics
And this was the original design lmao
How is she sitting like that if she's paralyzed below the waist? That's the posture of a fully-able person who has adjusted their seat for comfort.
she's not paralyzed below the waist, she can move her legs they just cant support her weight without dislocating her hips cuz she's got some weird disease
Seems like a terrible affliction to be swinging from building to building with
yeah but so is being blind and swinging from building to building but Daredevil does that
True, and a spider sense probably goes off whenever she’s about to hurt herself
So the spider-bite mutation give her, like it did with Spidey, the enhancements to the body (such as arms, core, and back strength) needed to swing around like that, but doesn't fix her hips or at least strengthen the muscles around them at all? That seems like an awfully selective set of mutations that just so happen not to touch the thing she has a misplaced identitarian pride on, her disability.
Oh my fricking God it's comics. What are you DOING? It's a "has powers but also a big weakness" character, like Daredevil. That's not something to shake your first at.
It's not like Daredevil at all
The same thing that blinded him enhanced his other senses
Her disability had nothing to do with her powers, and the spider-bite enhanced her whole body, except that one thing. Why? because treating her disability as a point of pride and identity is more important than things making sense.
Which is fine for a self-insert fancharacter in a twitter post, but that shit should have never made it into the comics.
You don’t seem to get how the disability works. EDS makes the muscles, blood vessels, and skin elastic which causes dislocation, easy bleeding, and exhaustion.
Spider powers grant durability which fixes the easy bleeding and half of the exhaustion, but the muscles and blood vessels are still elastic
It made her stronger in many ways without wiping out her disease entirely, leaving her with a weakness. You are getting lost in the bushes, anon. It's bullshit science. For pity's sake man, it goes back to Stan Lee going "yeah, sure, an spider gets zapped with radioactivity then bites a kid so now he has psychic danger-sense and can stick to walls. Very scientific."
It's all just nonsense to pad out the idea of a hero that has a glaring weakness. She can do bursts of superhero activity but she tires out quickly and can't do all the things other Spider-folk can, due to having a great big massive disability that the Spiderystuff didn't completely negate.
This is why I like the idea of her with a spider tank. She has a few bursts of activity and then retreats to the robot when tired
>"yeah, sure, an spider gets zapped with radioactivity then bites a kid so now he has psychic danger-sense and can stick to walls. Very scientific."
I hate the fact that he's tied into spiders now, with magic bullshit. He clearly just got random powers from radioactive blood and CHOSE to make his outfit spider-themed because the animal happened to be a spider. He could just as well be Ant-Man or Gecko-Man, since those are the animals who better display his two main powers. But noooo he has to be connected to some fricking web of life bullshit where spiders are magic and it chose him and all that shit.
>she can move her legs they just cant support her weight without dislocating her hips cuz she's got some weird disease
It's called being fat.
Imagine the problems of fat, while being physically skinny
- not every wheelchair user is paralyzed
- you know people with leg paralysis can manually move their legs, right?
>you are now moving your legs manually
Wheelchair spiderman would have been a cool concept if she rode an elaborate roboticized spider mount as her chair and fought crime with it. i don't really understand how this shit even works or if the disableds like this pandering
Actually she does that in Spiderverse
This, disabled characters can be awesome, like Toph from Avatar. But there's a point where it feels pander-y. Someone can probably put it into words better than I can.
Their thought process probably goes like this
>want to portray handicaped character
>brainstorm ways to work the disability into a power/ability
>afraid that might distract readers from the disability itself
>default to safe unmistakeable imagery, ie crutches instead of mecha spider legs
With Toph, without the occasional reminder, you might forget that she's blind because she works around it so well with her seismic sense. This would trivialize her disability most of the time, which the writers of characters like Sun Spider probably don't want.
But the jokes made are pretty great
Once again, Spiderverse gave her a mecha so whatever the original writers planned, they were overruled
Because that stopped everyone when Katawa Shoujo was being made
>riping off Air Gear
>that pic
you can tell that guy is a hardcore hacker because of his futuristic 1.21 gigawatts power strip and Dell monitor
How did she pose her legs when they can't move?
She can move her legs. Her condition just make it painful to move. Her bones are like glass and her skin is like paper.
And with the proportional powers of a spider, it ensures that she will never break but still feel the pain
Every night she lies awake in agony until her heart attacks put her to sleep.
Yeah that's just capeshit artists being unable to draw anything except two types of body, not a conscious choice to make her look different, anon. If you're not a Hulk you get the generic one that looks like all the rest. They actually worked extra hard by giving her a dress instead of just having her be nude with weird coloured skin that we're supposed to pretend is a suit.
They make suits frequently. Sometimes with too many pouches
99% of the time those "suits" are just naked bodies painted in different colours. Even fricking Iron Man is a muscly body with a metallic sheen like 25% of the time.
True, and it’s disappointing because I love how cool armor can look
I didn't like the look of the ultimate armour at first, due to the head mostly, but I ended up really loving how it actually made Stark bigger when he went into the suit, instead of having Iron Man be the same size as Cap and Spider-Man etc. It actually set him apart as the "regular human" for once, especially with how he couldn't just get it out of a briefcase and had to rely on ammunition and couldn't fly indefinitely. He had to actually plan for things while everyone else were ready to go at any time.
If I'd been in charge of the Iron Man movies that's the route I would have taken. Make his suit bulky and weighty, and focus on how Stark is way shorter than Iron Man etc. I definitely wouldn't have gone the moronic nanobot CGI infinite ammo route.
Agreed, that’s in part why I loved the suits used by the early films and original Avengers. I liked the idea of it having actual plates and looking like a futuristic knight suit with someone inside

Kek based, Tumblrinas eternally BTFO
Since Sun Spider has barely any villains of her own, who do you think could make good bad guys for her to fight? I think some good ones would be
>The Grandparents from The Visit
>Alistair Smythe
>Professor X without his psychic powers
>That one fish from Spongebob who was born with glass bones and paper skin
>Mr. Glass
>Glass Joe
>Brendan Fraiser's character in The Whale
no just have it be stairs, while all her friends are with her so she can't change into her costume
Stairs are her archnemesis. Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse is her least favorite video game because of this.
Condimate King is her archnemesis because he can spray the ground with ketchup and mustard and cause her wheelchair to slip and fall to the ground, thus rendering her powerless.
Here are some ideas I’ve heard previously
>a Gold Goblin who stands at the pinnacle of humanity who mocks her for her weakness
>a centaur scorpion
>Black Cat who likes to manipulate her with romance
>a Kraven the Hunter who is impressed with her spirit and wants to train her to overcome her disability
Mr. Plinkett would be the perfect villain for her. He throws pizza rolls at her and they're the only projectile that her spider sense can't detect.
>Charlotte Webber, because it's not 100% an indication she's going to have spider powers
>keeps her crime-fighting cripple sticks with her at all times and in plain view because it's hard to conceal things on a wheelchair
>even with her powers, she can quickly tire out due to her medical condition
Jesus frick.
Crippled girls are for cherishing and using as cum dumps.
Since you guys weren’t there, here’s the alternative origin one Anon came up with for Charlotte Webber last thread
>Charlotte Webber was born with EDS, and despite preserving through it was generally just trudging through life, not truly living
>then one day, she is caught up in a villain attack and saved by New York’s one and only Spider-Man
>this reignites her inner spark and from then on Charlotte begins to truly live, befriending some classmate’s including the shy Peter Parker, and even reconsidering her possibilities for romance.
>she also develops an admiration towards the Spider-Man and becomes a fan. she even makes her own spidersona
>unfortunately, accidents happen, and one day a radioactive spider Peter swiped from the Kingpin is let loose in his school where it bites Charlotte Webber, painting a target on her back.
>so, feeling guilty, and knowing she’s likely to Perdue heroism on her own, Peter offers Charlotte access to his web fluid and some of his tech.
>together with her own determination and Peter’s technical help, Charlotte turns a fantasy into reality, becoming her own character… Sun Spider
> big booba
> kino spider legs
Based
There were more pics from the last thread too
Do you have a link to the thread?
Nope, just more pics
But it was like yesterday so should be easy to find in the archive
look this art is good for a cheap nut but it's almost too horny. I'm no prude but this artist seems coomfried.
Eh, I don’t see it.
Then again I personally have a fascination with monsters and high technology so it’s possible my brain phased out everything except for the “cool spider mech”
I am sorry, but I must confess that I am indeed horny all the time and moat of my drawings are pretty much my barely disguised fetishes one way or another.
Is that why Ock is kissing her even though she’s gay?
Good art btw
yandex isn't giving me anything - you got the sauce?
like the other anon said, just the other thread. Artist is magi who's been drawing on Cinemaphile since the beginning.
I’ve encountered him a bunch
Yeah, the oversized knockers scream fetish art.
All that art was great, I didn’t have this one thanks a lot. hope you keep making art for her
I wasn’t the artist, I just saved it
I write sometimes though
That's magi aka ac120
>Peter again
I rather have her get her mechanical spider legs from Doctor Octopus, either him as an adult or a teen.
He could be either a friend or a schizo scooping Sun Spider as his researcher.
Ock did seem pretty obsessed with her
Best design because she has huge breasts
>spider bites her
>doesn’t heal her illness
>increases boob size making using crutches even harder
Movie Sun Spider had the wheelchair that turned into spider legs. Just saying
yeah I like the spider-chair better, full spider legs looks really clunky
With legs hanging
Dump ended
here’s Spooder-boi as a comedic caboose
Someone should make a Soon-Spooder who praises the sun
>Charlotte Webber
Groan... At least say her gay best friend is named Templeton.
>> created by some crippled fan as a shitty spider sona
Didn't it turn out her creator isn't disabled?
so the character was just made by a white women to win a contest?
If she really isn't disabled and just threw that in so she could threaten the judges with accusations of ableism, yeah.
>tumblr steals attractive characters and makes them ugly
>actual artists return the favor and steal ugly character and make them attractive
kek based
I think it works better to think of it as artists just enjoying characters
Good God that's a lot of seething. I'm sorry someone else succeeded, anon.
A fan got her OC that you hate into comics and you're trying to spin it as a victory for you and a loss for her.
kek. Classic Cinemaphile moment.
It just doesn't make sense, the nature of the spider bite would heal whatever ailment prevented her from walking with the of the new neurological tissue is generates + the accelerated healing
Nope, this is a stretch causing disease, spider bite wouldn’t do a thing
peter regrew an eyeball
>> immediately get turned into beautiful, skinny redhead
She looks like a chubby 12 year old boy. Nothing about that is beautiful unless you're some kind of gay child molester.
>crippled
>lesbo
>literally wears LGBT flag
Now make her black and you will hit 3/3 bingo. Won't be so hard with her already being redhair
They only made her a redhead so they can make her black in a future movie
That’s not the only trope related to redheads
I actually wish Sun Spider was more prominent so that all her defenders would have to confront the fact that she's an awful character and being disabled doesn't excuse that.
>her parents deliberately chose to name her Charlotte so her full name would be a reference to a children's book
What’s gonna happen when she meets Spider-Ham?
Then she will die after hyping him up
when was the last time dc or marvel intrecued a new straight white male who was not evil or purposeful written as weak, stupid and immature to that women/blacks can make fun of him and be depicted as stronger and better then him?
so when was the last time marvel or dc intreduced a new straight white male hero that was treated with the same level of respect and had the same level of competency then any black or female character?
Spider Boy?
Sounds like you're salty over an artstyle and hoping the creator was upset over adaptation, while the creator was likely just thrilled to see her creation in a book.
Kinda sad, dude.
Does she leave mocking messages all over New York?
