I would've liked Maximus's character a lot more if they leaned into him being willing to betray his own fellow BOS for career advancement. It's what made him most compelling at first especially after he lets the Knight die to take his armor.
There are a ton of foot injuries in this show and I noticed that one of the producers is named "Jill Footlicker" in the title credits. I think this show is taking shots at tarantino and nickeloldeon for their evil ways
there were only two i noticed unless you count lucy losing a boot
>razor boot >foot of glasses guy shot off by ghoul >followed by mechanical leg replacement gorging on his leg >mustache bully squire’s foot getting destroyed, and all the complications from that >various feet shot and cut off during quick action
So i watched up to episode 3 last night. I think im done with the show.
But is this ever resolved? The convo between the two after the incident seemed to imply something but it was nonsensical. Was this just some shitty writing to get Max as a squire?
Everything maximus "earns" feels completely undeserved. >suck at everything >fail to get promoted >despite being the prime suspect in maiming your fellow brother, get promoted afterwards >fail to act (at first) when your lord is attacked >purposefully let your lord die >steal his identity and his armor
At this point was I supposed to cheer or something?
I watched all 3 episodes last night and dont even know the name of the female protag, who would have died 10 times over by the end of ep 2.
I think the only piece of good writing in the show was when max's bully admitted max was a good guy and only bullied him because he was tired of getting bullied himself.
I feel like weve finally reached the point where media has become so bad that if something isnt downright terrible its lauded as 10/10. Theres a bunch of other shit to complain about but whatever. It wasnt awful but i feel no need to continue, even fans of the show say the 2nd half of the season isnt as good as the first.
Max is the worst part of the show but I believe it's still worth watching. Max is an idiotic walking hypocrite and everything Titus said about him was true, even if the writers went overboard to justify letting him die.
>Max is the worst part of the show >Max is an idiotic walking hypocrite and everything
Only reason I likes the character was because he wasn't a cutout altruistic magical Black that you assumed the writers would go with. You guys are impossible to please sometimes.
>he wasn't a cutout altruistic magical Black that you assumed the writers would go with
i agree but the way they did it was stupid. Is he likeable in any other way? I kind of expected Titus to die heroically and before death inspire courage in Max to do the right thing, would have shown some development over the quivering puss he was before. Instead Titus was an butthole and a coward who moronically sat there describing how he was going to ensure a slow and painful death for Max while max is sitting 4 feet away holding the thing that would save his life. It was dumb and unsatisfying
Max's redeeming quality is enjoying the chaos and shit he gets himself into with his decision making. If you can appreciate that much of him then it's fairly easy to put up with the rest. He's terrible at making a good decision and fails upward because of circumstances.
>even fans of the show say the 2nd half of the season isnt as good as the first.
First half is by far the worst with dumb Lucy and piece of shit Max. It starts getting good with episode four, slight drop with five, and then good until the end. You can see this on imdb even.
>purposefully let your lord die
That was probably the moment that got me really invested in his character. He spent his life getting shit on by most of his classmates, he watches his best and only friend get picked to leave on a mission as a squire, the one thing he's been suffering all this time for, only for said friend to suffer an injury under suspicious circumstances. He finally gets to be a squire and his knight is a giant bully to him, just like his classmates. After witnessing Titus b***h out to a bear and whine about the sacred mission he's been tasked with, Max just snaps and watches him die so he can take his armor. I like the fact that they actually tried to give Max some nuance and let him be dark.
>Big nosed guy controls the media (the radio tower) >place is littered with corpses of people trying to change the transmission (narrative) >smiles as his golem (black guy) kisses a white girl
What did Nolan mean by this?
I wasn't paying much attention but I didn't even notice it was a troony. When I glanced up I just thought it was a standard spice who didn't take the manlet pill.
>Find out your Squire is gonna be a troony
>Slip a ravor blade in its boot
>"I need a new Squire."
>They give you a Black person
Assigned Sydney Sweeney as your squire.
>Trans character self harms in the first episode.
What did Amazon mean by this?

He might have done it, they could be both lying. Who knows.
i can't really imagine anyone having the resolve to intentionally slice their leg with a razor blade
Trannies "have the resolve" to literally castrate themselves.
accurate depiction of troons.
I'd frick the crazy out of her

>troony foot
>scientist foot
>maximus foot
>squire guy that got turned into a ghoul foot
wait. not max. dont think he hurt his foot
>razor boot
>foot of glasses guy shot off by ghoul
>followed by mechanical leg replacement gorging on his leg
>mustache bully squire’s foot getting destroyed, and all the complications from that
>various feet shot and cut off during quick action
I noticed Jill Footlick too. What is the etymology of the Footlick family name?

I would give episode four a try before dropping
>character has to be likable to be engaging
A woman's hands typed this post
>purposefully let your lord die

>FtM
somehow surprised by mental illness? I thought that was well done
>is really skinny
>has a very weird voice
How am I expected to take this seriously?
>self-harms as a bonus
She wanted to be treated like a man until it was time to act like a man. Many such cases.
I’m looking at you feminists.
How was she supposed to carry the fricking bag anyway?!
She looks too physically weak to be a squire
Pretty sure it was a lie to save Maximus
this was just a twink right?
It's a mentally ill woman.
i watched it in german and its impossible to make this pronoun thing in german so i wasnt aware of that lol
Its like they found Boyega's uglier, less talented brother to star in their show. Bravo Bezos
Jarringly shit actress
yup. the fake deep voice was annoying af
