I like the Flashpoint aura, but the Batman suit has to be an expression of Batman at the moment. In the movie, the suit carries the man throughout the battlefield. You have a green bat, you have to dress it in modestly.

Long Halloween and Dark Victory aren't Year Two stories. Year One Batman doesn't get into many gunfights, and even the Silver Age Batman had bulletproof vests. The Batman is stealthy, as noted by the many stealth scenes in the film, and he's a good detective. This Batman goes after corruption in the beginning but on a smaller scale. It's more accurate than any other Batman we've had before.

It's really really good up until the Alfred envelope explosion scene then it literally switches into a worse movie. You can actually feel the switch.
The movie became bad for me when the Riddler kidnaps the DA. That's when the movie starts to get really, REALLY fricking stupid. What with Batman coming close to a guy with a neck-bomb, Batman surviving the close proximity explosion, and so on.

Long Halloween and Dark Victory aren't Year Two stories. Year One Batman doesn't get into many gunfights, and even the Silver Age Batman had bulletproof vests. The Batman is stealthy, as noted by the many stealth scenes in the film, and he's a good detective. This Batman goes after corruption in the beginning but on a smaller scale. It's more accurate than any other Batman we've had before.

It was fine enough in theaters but the movie is too long for it's own good, the decent amount of atmosphere it creates starts to lose it's impact when you're exposed for it for too long, and by the end I was ready for it to finish. If it happened to be on or you were in a strong mood to watch a Batman movie, I'd say give it a shot, but it's not the sort of movie ought to make time to watch ASAP
