didn't watch, never will, want to cum on those glasses
Its so funny to see Asians never establish a proper american-side culture except for obnoxious California mall try hard asian
Yes. I expected to hate it, but it turned out to be one of the best shows I've ever seen.
About halfway through the first episode, I thought it was gonna be a typical millennial dramedy full of irony and brattiness, but I'm glad I didn't give up on it. It has more soul than any show I've seen in recent years.
It's a typical modern show where everyone is a cynical nihilistic butthole eager to cheat, lie, and backstab and audience is supposed to find that "relatable", but the audience is also expected to preciously clutch their pearls about petty woke "microaggresions" about race and gender type shit.
Other than that it's pretty great though. The writers poured their hearts and souls into it. It's not perfect, but it's "real". It's intelligent and unpredictable. It's not just paint-by-numbers formulaic crap, there is genuine artistic expression in it.
But it was literally just the two protagonists/antagonists that were buttholes, even the scumbag cousin of the korean guy wasn't as bad as he was
You don't understand, this needs to be a pol thread about the fall of the west
> I'm autistic and nitpick pointless things to make myself feel smart
BTW, "The Brother's Sun" just came out, it's pretty good too. It has more fun martial arts gangster shit and less soap opera chick "muh trauma" shit.
Besides the rich lady who fetishizes asian stuff I felt like there was very little about racism. It was more about inherited trauma, the sins of our fathers, and redemption, albeit in an asian american context. It definitely is more universal than everyone in this thread is making it out to be
>inherited trauma
gay
i.e., the sins of our fathers. Atheist seethe
> i know nothing about the show and just watched half of the first episode while binging Family Guy funny videos on my phone because I was getting bored after a while
KONICHIWA!
YEE
HAW
this has to be bait, sure, the europeans divide asians, not the fact they speak different languages
is there anything more worthless than the "asian-american perspective"?
Wait this dude is a Chinese shill? I thought he was Philippines, don't they hate the chinese
How many Americans would look at this and feel anything other than confusion?
The chad KNEE-HOW vs the virgin KONNICHIWA DUDE
No, it's what's for dinner.
>was the slop of the week actually good?
Never was.
I think people just weren't expecting something on Netflix to be funny
is it just asian-americans pretending to be oppressed, or feeling disconnected from their ethnic culture?
Dunno, never watched it. And I never will.
I haven’t seen it, I refuse to see it but to answer your question no it isn’t.
i just refuse to watch anything made by or about asian americans
do you apply that principle for israeli-americans
no
well, I've pretty much stopped watching hollywood movies, does that count?
yes. it is worth watching
it was nice
you should
i liked it. i watched david chos autistic podcast back in the day because im a dork so maybe i enjoyed it a little extra because of that. it was still good though
it was nice to see some minorities put on a play where it wasn't all oh boohoo im a minority but instead was like boohoo im a human
it was that good. especially the scene where they are tripping
