I don't really see the point. What will the plot be? Presumably, since Jenna Ortega is playing Lydia's daughter, Beetlejuice will try and escape through corrupting her. But why does he want to live again? What can you do in life that can't be done better in death? The afterlife is a huge bureaucracy in this universe, but Beetlejuice doesn't bother abiding in any of their rules. Can't he just do whatever he wants?

It's an interesting piece of theatre. Everything about it is kind of bad, but it's still somehow really good. The new guy is terrible though and it's a shame that's how most people will experience it.

I have a feeling the Maitlands will have a cameo. Even Alec, despite the fact that he is a murderous psychopath. But it will be quick. Like, Jenna Ortega will have somehow found her way to the Netherworld with Beetlejuice and they will be opening doors in a big hallway, and each of them will have something spooky and weird on the other side. Maybe they're being chased by Netherworld authorities and Beetlejuice is looking for a specific door. Maybe they'll turn the tables and for some reason he needs to find a sandworm on Saturn, and he'll open each door, one of which will have the Maitlands who will look at Jenna (who will be dressed in the red wedding dress) and they will mistake her for Lydia and Beetlejuice will quickly slam the door and be like "Oh god, not that one. That door is more boring than Brigadoon...Yeah, I said it. Frick Brigadoon"

Probably not, although I just watched the Deadwood movie recently and he was in it. I didn't watch Deadwood until last year, and the entire time I assumed the series must have been shot just before he got in trouble, but it turns out it was after. And he was a major character in the show. He's also in the movie which came out right before covid happened.

sequels don't exist unless the first movie was meant to be part of a duology or trilogy from the start, what we generally call sequels are 'piggyback trash' that is rarely comparable to the originals.
There are exceptions where up and coming directors are expected to make trash and decide for themselves to pull out all the stops with a fresh story that no one expected but those are rare.
Even in those cases the two movies should still be seen as separate. Nostalgia is a massive evil trap that robs you of enjoyment.
You liked first movie? Well, you're gonna LOVE new movie! But it's a trap, you will definitely get less enjoyment and you'll realize later you did nearly all the work to give yourself what little enjoyment was available through your nostalgia. Don't fall for this.
