    Eddard wins in the long-term.

Leto doesn’t die because of honour.

Both formal and negative ethical honorgays are always in danger of dying. People inherently lack honor and only malice can triumph in this world.

The only reason you are comfortably sitting on your fatass typing away edgy shit on your first world computer is because of the honor of generations of men much greater than you. It’s honor and sacrifice that created the abundance only seen in the west. It’s honor and sacrifice that gave you all your comforts. And now here you stand mocking the very ancestors that gave you this abundance. A truly shameful display, homosexual.

you can die being an honorable fool, like Robert says in the series.
Its power and fear what builts a legacy, not honor.

Humans are irredeemable moral errors. Extinction is the only way forward for them. You are the b***h, for glorifying the israeli crimes of our ancestors.

    >find out the queen's secret
    >tell her what you know before you tell the king
    >give her ample time to prepare
    >only contingency plan is a guy you defeated in a duel for the only woman he ever loved
This isn't honourable, it's moronic. He'd might as well have thrown himself off a cliff.

I haven't watched a single second of that dumb show once Sean Bean was killed off. I knew I was watching Reddit and opted out.

Being honorable pays off all the time. The trick is to be smart while you're being honorable. Stark stupidly told Cersei his plans before he enacted them. In Letos case there really wasn't a right move, he had to accept Arrakis and the trap that was laid there for him. He prepared as best he could though, especially concerning the nukes

That's because they didn't pay attention to Eddard's story and cut a ton of shit from the books. For one, Eddard wasn't actually meant to be killed, that was something the psychopath Joffrey did unexpectedly and everyone tried to stop him. For two, the whole of the North loved Eddard for his honorable ways and treatment. And despised the new rulers for their dishonor, lies, and vile behavior. So while the Northern lords had to submit for the time being, they remembered. The North rembered, oh yes. And soon enough, they would enact their revenge bringing down the Freys, Boltons, and every one else responsible for the Red Wedding. That's what honor created.

The Duke was similar. His honorable reputation is why the Fremen were more likely to trust his son and wife and eventually become devoted to them.

Those elements are clearly in the show, too

No, they're not. The entire North sided with the Boltons and Freys and none of the Northern lords were still for Stark until pulled out of their ass at the 11th hour because D&D forgot about that they needed someone to be Queen Sansa's subjects

It’s true the northern plot is butchered in the show, the part about eddard’s execution is the same thoughever

Wanna know what's weird? Teachers will flunk then expel you for "cheating" on an essay, yet they use various apps online that grade your essays so they can get back to tiktok complaining that they should make more money.

Did he really say that? It would be an odd statement from the guy who invented the rule of two. He personally ensured that every Sith will die honourably at the hand of their own apprentice when they have been surpassed.

They never died honorably. Most succession was granted the second their master showed an ounce of weakness for one second.
They'd assume their rank, so like Malgus who literally killed his master the second he got wounded by a Jedi Master.

          Anonymous

By the Sith code that is an honourable death though - you train an apprentice knowing they will eventually kill you. If they were purely about self preservation they would have bodyguards or other measures to stop it happening, but instead they accept they will die a violent death.
Also IIRC Bane allowed Zannah to duel him several times on fair terms and was disappointed that she couldn't defeat him. Clearly he didn't want to die comfortably from old age.

Ned is a complete moron, Leto was sabotaged by a spy, the shields, and if that had not occurred he would not have been killed. Leto's loss was not due to being honorable.

The honor of Ned was a joke. If he was honorable he would have imprisoned and killed the queen and her incest bastards and all accomplishes instantly.

His deah came because it does not pay off to be a homosexual.

It can lead to you dying, which is terrifying to atheists like Gurrm but not so much to people like the ones Ned is based on, who genuinely believe that acting dishonourably to get ahead in this world will have consequences in the next when you inevitably get there and all the power and wealth you amassed on earth means nothing.

The Atreides were no more honorable than the Harkonnens. They merely have better PR and use cunning and subterfuge whereas the Harkonnens would use brute force. Duke Leto knew he was being pushed into a trap and he can't run away (actually he can, but it will mean all his men will die and his House erased), so he conspires to judo flip the Harkonnens and Emperor at the Landsraad. The Atreides are as vicious. The Duke sent the severed hand of the Harkonnen assassin to the Baron as a gift after all.
