Justified how? He was literally just mad that his brother got magic witch pussy before he could get any, so he started planning mass genocide of all witches
Any cartoon that where an in canon argument for a villains actions is that he’s an incel is shit by default. Not to mention hate sinks are shit.
Did you frickers even watch the show? He didn’t do it because he was pissed about his brother.
Kings dad, the Titan which the whole setting takes place on, someone who has been watching Belos for years, literally spells it out for you.
“That man care for nothing except his need to be the hero of his own delusions, and for that, he fears what he cannot control”
It’s not about Caleb, it’s about the fact that ‘being a witch hunter = good’ where he comes from, so to be a hero he needs to keep doing that.
You're wrong moron. Just because that's what idiot moron reeditors do(or did) doesn't mean that's what reedit spacing means. Kys. It has always meant double spacing here. And double spacing is what they do anyway. They know that it doesn't double space automatically for them. You're not an oldgay, you're a reeditor.
that argument is fricking moronic
imagine seeing someone saving a child from getting raped and say "He only did it because he wanted to be seen as a hero."
He spend literally centuries trying to get rid of the world of evil. And what did he expect to get for his contributation to world peace? A promotion! In other words, he wanted to CONTINUE serving his country.
That is not someone with a hero complex.
He was obviously still wrong in thinking the witches and demons were pure evil, and he was willing to sacrifice misguided humans to do so, but his intentions were for the good of mankind.
>He was obviously still wrong in thinking the witches and demons were pure evil
By Christian standards the witches on the BI are pure evil. Belos did the right thing by trying to exterminate them.
they only share the same name, but both the demons and witches are entirely different creatures than what the christians assumed they were.
But of course as true religious fanatics it wouldn't have mattered even if they had different names, because they worked under different physics and biology than what they knew, and as we all know, the number 1 enemy of religion is "being different"
>the number 1 enemy of religion is "being different"
I think you mean mankind and society as a whole. People have been wiped out for less don’t fool yourself and that’s not a bad thing.
I'm annoyed at how delusional they made him. A supposedly well-intentioned but ultimately self-serving extremist could be interesting. Being so divorced from reality could be neat because that's license for deep insanity. But ultimately he just ended up a boring pseudo strawman that only challenged the protagonist's worldview because she was stupid.
The thing is, his ‘delusions’ are mildly justified.
You never EVER make a deal with the devil. If demons were real, they’d supposedly be the purest embodiment of evil, and they’d use every single type of manipulation and lies to condemn your soul. The inhabitants of the BI are not the same as demons from the Bible, but because of the unfortunate coincidence of sharing the same name, he doesn’t dare to even CONSIDER that they’re decent people. The moment that you do, the real things would have you caught in their clutches.
That’s probably exactly what he thinks happened to Caleb. That Caleb let his guard down for just a single moment, and from then on was mind controlled /under their spell.
It’s extremely telling of his pure (if misguided) intentions that when he’s defeated Luz and about to kill her, he stops and tries to reason with her. He’s already won, and it’s of zero benefit to him, but he tries one last time to save her before “another human life is destroyed by this place”.
Meanwhile Luz just stands there and watched as he melted in the rain and got stomped by the pride parade
>You never EVER make a deal with the devil.
Isn't that literally what happens in the end though? He tries to plead for his life. Would have worked better if he went out spitting and cursing them as demons then.
>I guess cuz she’s human, pleading with Luz doesn’t count in his book?
It's not that either. If it was, killing Caleb wouldn't have been something he'd do. If they just made him a 'salt the earth, no mercy to witches' kind of fella, he'd at least be a decent villain. Instead, they make him act pathetic in the end as some kind of 'own' despite the fact that it makes the entire show worse for it.
See, the refusal to see witches and demons as real people could have worked, and would have made his descent into denial more compelling, but that's not what we got. The show shies away from tying Belos' motivations to a specifically Christian Puritan worldview, watering it down to just "ye olde time witch hunters of no specific religious bent." That's not a great foundation for a supremely rigid outlook on life, so instead they gave him this generic need to be the hero. Which still could have been more interesting had they made him go native, i.e. genuinely trying to bring enlightenment to the BI and then only going genocidal for reasons beyond getting ass pats back home.
While I feel like his depth and motivations could have been explored more, I’m also kind of glad to see a villain who isn’t moved by the hero’s good nature and have a half assed “redemption”
He lived and died fully believing in his convictions, it’s nice to see a villain do that after the years of them giving up cause the hero makes a speech.
The cartoon should have been about him turning into Luz's daddy.
I don't think I'll ever understand Beluz shippers
Villains corrupting the hero is an extremely easy fetish to understand the appeal of.
The evil witch Belos killed the goodly Phillip Wittebane.

I said in canon argument redditard as in something that people say as his reason for doing it.
>Reddit spacing
Holy frick how new are you?

The fact you have this save for just this occasion kind of proves my point.

Do you have the comic where he dies in front of Hunter while wishing to go home?
Wrong

Dude he’s full on, he’s everything Dana hates about he conservative upbringing while Odalia is her mom.

>No one is mentioning it
Why?
Buddy, we've been infested with Cinemaphilemblr for years
>You never EVER make a deal with the devil.

I guess cuz she’s human, pleading with Luz doesn’t count in his book?
I agree he should have gone out with a bang

I haven't watched but I already know two things. 1, you're shitposting and don't mean it. 2, what you said but unironically.

I don't even know what he was doing at the end.
He tried to possess the Titan to use its power to kill all witches. Pretty based plan
Belos is very popular with males who were bullied at school
Why didn't he just bang Kikimora?
closeted homosexual
>morally
Morally, but not ethically
truee
He's a poor mans Lich.
i wish they kept up the dark souls boss vibe he had in Season 1
