It has excellent photography, but Lazenby sucks, the entire undercover genealogist stretch is pretty dumb (Lazenby getting awkwardly dubbed over makes it even worse), the sped-up action is goofy looking more than intense. It has its moments but the flaws are glaring. Great cinematography though. Other than Skyfall I can't think of another Bond movie that looks as good.
I don't think Lazenby sucked, he kind of downplayed it also because it's a more romantic kinda Bond. The vilains themselves though were pretty bad and yeah wrong dated effects.
You believe though in that love story, more so than in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig and Eva Green.
They had balls to end that Lazenby film the way they did. Now, no one would do it that way to be honest.
it's objectively the best. Goldfinger is the more popular or most iconic, but FRWL is a better overall film and representation for the golden era of the franchise. Thunderball is my favorite from that time period.

I burst into tears when I noticed and pointed out the strings on the Gemini capsule, my wife defending the movie "hey! but they tried!". inb4 blog post. It also gave us one of the best scenes in Team America
