            just boring.

emphasizes a love story like NO Bond ever did and the leads have no chemistry

the Venice house collapse sequence was interminable and stupid

            Bond simping is not Bond

the card game - which originated in the poker craze of its time - also goes on forever

the parkour was good conceptually but i didn't know anything about the villain so I didn't care

the ball smashing is implausible and homoerotic so completely wrong for Bond

            etc.

i think i agree for the most part. the card game was relatively enjoyable but it wasnt as good as everything that came before it. when vesper is introduced the quality severely goes down and then everything after the poker game ranged from okay to shitty. the venice stuff was especially corny.

The lyrics are so shit, though. Half of it is Bono talking about watching James Bond movies in his childhood, only sung by a woman who literally was a grown ass superstar when said movies came out, and the other half a sort of attempt at explaining the little they toldd him about the movie, apparently only knowing there's a turncoat at some point.

Who do you think would be a good choice to do the next one Cinemaphile?

For me it's Dual EPA. She's popular enough to get normalgay buzz but is still a very capable, respectable singer who can pull off a sensual, breezy songstress persona and after the back to back funeral dirges they've had for Craig's movies the franchise could use some energy again.

Also I would throw my frick into her.

live and let die is a bad Bond movie
if you approached it as a standalone campy 70s action flick it would be fine, but it's just too bad for Bond
FYEO probably should be in "meh" but it has some redeeming features if you entirely ignore the Bibi plot, like how Bond approaches "le impregnable mountain fortress" like a fricking SPY unlike Connery who would have trained as a ninja for 2 seconds before leading a frontal assault on a fortified position like ludendorf or some shit.

i feel like bond deserves a permanent general at this point. i love debating this shit with you morons, it never gets old, and there are enough films and eras to warrant constant shitposting.

God no. Generals always, inevitably, turn to utter shit. You'll always get autists who want to make internet personalities for themselves or, worse, trolls/shitposters who decide to make it their life's mission to ruin every single thread.
Generals are not worth it in the slightest.

The one and only correct answer is Spectre by Radiohead, although they didnt even use it for the movie

OHMSS's title sequence (and soundtrack generally) is TOP KINO. Shame the movie isn't that good though.

The movie was fantastic. Which is amazing because yes, Lazenby was a terrible Bond.

They knew they'd cast a shitty non-actor in the lead, so they went hard and raised their game on *everything else* in the movie. Diana Rigg was both a smokeshow and a legitimately great actress; Telly Savalas was the best Blofeld by far; strong script that sticks closely to the book; outstanding music; great direction and editing; incredible stunt work (and while Lazenby couldn't act, he had legit martial arts skill and looked realistic in a fight). It's such a damned good film.

For as much shit as Lazenby gets for OHMSS, I think his performance in the final scene with Tracy in the car is perfect. I don't think Connery could have pulled it off.

This song by Björk and David Arnold would have been great for either Dalton's third Bond film or during Brosnan's tenure.

Sam Smith is awful but Radiohead's is even worse.
