The beauty of Godzilla is that there are so many versions and so many ways to take the character. The flexibility should be celebrated, not used for cheap competitions on who is better. You can celebrate how great the cartoon was (and it was great) without needing to tear anyone down!

Are we in a new golden era? 2014 was fairly mediocre all things considered, but what it launched is fantastic. It feels like one of the few cinematic universes that works outside of the MCU.
Not like there's much competition... but King of the Monsters unfortunately reigns in the west, this show is probably the second best thing, everything else is just varying degrees of bad.

Yep. They had to nerve Godzilla's size while buffing Kong's size to make it so the two could stand shoulder to shoulder. In reality Godzilla should absolutely tower over Kong. The official scale released by Legendary is busted too, implying that somehow Godzilla is tallest in in the latest movie, when he was definitely tallest in 2014 when he himself towered over skyscrapers with ease, now only standing level with them.

Agreed. There's nothing memorable, or striking, or that stands out in the mind with these movies. Compare to Shin Godzilla. The haunting imagery and the sense of pain and fear the movie delivers will stay with audiences for a long time to come.

Unpopular opinion, but now I think Legendary Godzilla is defintiely stronger than Final Wars.
