I'd feel limited if it was by Purple Man rules because he cant erase memories, has a time limit and they remember everything they did. I would need to at least erase memories. It would be better if you could apply permanent changes, like when no one could figure out Peter Parker is Spider-man and any evidence that they see gets ignored.

Shapeshifter, with telepathy you'd know it was mind control and all fake. With shapeshifting it's more "real" plus you can do everything you can imagine instead of being stuck with only the capabilities of your body.
