Tony beats Steve within an inch of his life for trying to save the life of a friend, and yet Steve gets back up in the face of certain death, then Tony's suit is broken and he's left crying on the floor because he doesn't have the conviction to try to fight without an overwhelming advantage.

But that's exactly my point. They have completely different definitions of what heroism is. To Steve, it's intent, to Tony, it's results.

In Civil War they gave this speech to Peggy, and it was delivered at her funeral by her niece. Cap never said it.
