(Top L-R) Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne. Kieran Culkin, (Bottom L-R) Keke Palmer, Greta Lee and Sam Smith Amazon; Deadline
Amazon Studios has handed a two-season order to The Hospital, an adult animated sci-fi comedy from Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne‘s Animal Pictures. Rudolph and Lyonne also are set to star in the series, created by Cirocco Dunlap (Russian Doll), along with Kieran Culkin (Succession), Keke Palmer (Alice), Greta Lee (Russian Doll) and singer-songwriter Sam Smith (Spectre). Additional voice cast TBA. Produced by Amazon Studios, The Hospital, which has been in development at Amazon since 2020, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Rings of Power got a lot of people in the door off hype, but they got real quiet when talking about how many people stayed till the end. Westworld season 3, The Last Jedi for a movie version, all of them coasting off someone else’s prebuilt hype and crashing and burning shortly into their run. You can fool people in the door, but will they stick around?
If people stuck around 4-5 years after the pilot for Hazbin to premiere I don't see why they wouldn't return for the next seasons, the hyperfixation in the fanbase is real. Plus this is way less expensive than the shows you mentioned so that probably helps.
Ring of Power was notoriously hated and mocked universally throughout its run. And while people hated it, the hate watch also did give it lots of views, enough to keep going forward with it. Despite what twitter would like you to believe, the hate for Hazbin hasn't even been a quarter as much as Rings of Power, it's been mostly positive. And in terms of animated series, it's only competition is Invincible, which it has beaten in terms of debut. So it's safe for a while.
It's alright, I guess? Amazon only has two animated series that people know exist, this and Invincible. Maybe if there were more this would be impressive
Oh no, indie animation with indie writing should never get this big, this is going to be the new steven universe but worse, inspiring new people into really bad writing, but at least SU had some good writing from time to time
This is like bragging about being the smartest kid in your special ed class
Check out this ant
I mean its kinda cool
>not riding a red ball
almost perfect
cool
KIMCARTOON
Amazon hasn't had many other animated series they've prostituted out before. This is a low bar.
>What do you think about it Cinemaphile?
Still not watching it.
>on Amazon
that's not a high bar
What other original animated series does Amazon even have to compare to?
Invincible
They have Invincible and The Legend of Vox Machina
And this is coming out in late february - The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy
Be honest, nobody's watching this
The frickers at Amazon greenlit 2 seasons so it's ogre.
is it really two seasons
or is it just one seasons split into two?
Does it matter? It will probably be 16 episodes in total either way.
you're the one who said its been greenlit for two seasons
and i just wanted to know which one was the case
don't know why youre getting so hostile
I'm not hostile. But if you want I can be daddy.

>Natasha Lyonne, Kieran Culkin, Keke Palmer
huh im interested
I watch every animated tv show that targeted at adults so I'll watch it.
Well I at least admit that beating those two out is an accomplishment I did not expect.
Viz BTFO Cinemaphile!
There's a built in fanbase so that's not a surprise.
Big debut, but retention will always be the crux.

To end up in hell that kid must've done some fricked up shit. Lute was right for punishing Vaggie for not killing that monster.
Is it possible exterminator helmets change how the wearer perceives their victims? She had no issue chasing that kid until her helmet was off
>Biggest debut for an animated show on Amazon ever
so what are the other animated shows that were in the competition?
Uhhj. Invincible?
Definitely not pic related, no one knows it's there.
The definition of too late for it's time. That 15 years ago would rock
It's alright, I guess? Amazon only has two animated series that people know exist, this and Invincible. Maybe if there were more this would be impressive
>on Amazon
I laugh

anyone got the Mega for the new episodes?
I didn't know Amazon had other animated originals.
Invincible?
Thought that was on Cartoon Network then streamed somewhere else after this entire time.
Wrong Cartoon Network show with Invincible in the title
Wow, a cartoon network show that doesn't look like trash. I'm shocked.
Thats an anime stupid
>Biggest debut for an animated show on Amazon ever
Name one other cartoon from Amazon.
the pacing is abhorrent
I'm not great with numbers. How does it stack up to Netflix's One Piece?
