It's made by a Homestuck fan. And kind of, as Andrew was antisocial and misanthropic and this was reflected in his character writing.

      No, it's pure Zoom media.

Boil you're projecting your projecting and I'm screenshotting your harassment to send to Bigtop Burger people.

I just don't know who Bigtop Burger is for. It's not a clever sitcom centered on competing fastfood crews with eccentric branding, it's not even a comedy of any kind because there are no jokes or gags but it's not a drama either because it's not serious in the slightest. And there's no mystery or intrigue now that we know the one weird character is a billion year old space clown who sucks at musical theater and it doesn't add anything to the initial premise. Why would you make more than one episode if this is the extent of your creativity? Hey kids, remember Cats!? I could've written that.

It resonates with former Homestuck fans and their friends.

By "crimes against nature" they mean gay sex and the only sentence for that at the time was life in prison. So he was sentenced to it for three instances, but the judge immediately suspended it because even back then it was considered excessive. He did have to serve a year in jail but managed to get out early by finding a legal loophole that said the judge had no legal standing to sentence him to that.
Fricked up as it is at the time him being gay was considered a bigger crime than him being with under age teenagers.

      >Covers Steve in magical weights that look like hats and backpacks.
      >"Oh, man! Those were $600 each, Steve!"

It's a dry humor. You probably won't get it, but the show's a lot of nom-sequitor comedy with a lot of dry little witicisms like that. The jokes about Cats isn't about Cats - it's that Steve has a melodramatic backstory that's just as silly as everything that's happened up to this point. The man was ejected from his planet for choking on Old Deut's lines. If you think the point was just to reference Cats by itself, you couldn't have written that.

Considering it's doing well on Youtube, programmatically all you need is 20% below average intelligence to get it. If it were any harder to "get" than that, Youtube wouldn't promote it.

Like frickin' nine year olds probably understand the whole joke is that they're taking Cats seriously but the twist is that it's not serious. If you're sitting there saying "I could reference Cats. I could write this script."

Then congrats, you're dumber than Youtube's general demographic and probably can't write.
