Black Bolt and Reed’s appearances were only added in the reshoots. There was likely no time to do the whole fitting and molding, easier to just CGI his costume.
That fact that bad CGI is more noticeable and that MCU CGI quality fluctuates movie to movie means that there's probably a lot of very good CGI work that just goes unnoticed. Even lots of non-action movies use lots of CGI for backgrounds, crowds, and buildings etc.
On a related note, only Doc Ock's head is non-CGI in the No Way Home bridge fight.
Why bother investing the time to CG a suit into a guy who only shows up for five minutes? Actually, never mind, I guess I just answered my own question.
So are most of the suits in Marvel movies these days. Watch literally any behind the scenes footage, it's not any kind of a secret.
Hell, if you want a good laugh, the suit Mysterio wears in Far From Home after the audience finds out he's the bad guy? The sort of jumpsuit-looking thing? That's almost the exact mocap suit they wear when making these films, just altered to include some details from his Mysterio suit
>one of the few good mcu bad guys >literally stolen from a different movie
It's kinda weird
you got like green goblin, ego, stane and Thanos?

He was still compelling in his scenes, and he spent almost the entirety of TWS as an antagonist.

>Vulture
Literally who cares. >Winter Soldier
Boring >Loki
Whiny homosexual with daddy issues. >Kingpin
Shit like all Netflix villains. >Red Skull
Boring one-dimensional butthole. >Mandarin
Just plain boring.
MCU villains suck.
So, they can do good CG where it's almost indistinguishable from something real, what's their fricking excuse for everything else looking PS3-tier sometimes?
If anything, for all of OP's homosexualry, he just proved that Marvel is capable of pushing out good CG like Black Bolt's costume, they're just fricking stupid when it comes to making sure it's consistent with their hard-on for cutting things out, redoing them, and making the CG teams rush their work, making it look like shit as a consequence.
I guess that's one of the downsides of having so many fricking movies planned out. If one of the movies end up getting delayed, the stuff further down the pipeline like special effects have to be rushed since there's not much wiggle room to push back the release date.
At least no actor is going to end up killing someone with that gun.
Turns out a middle aged woman with no real desire to get buff who probably is just doing this movie because it's a good paycheck can't and won't get really fricking buff overnight.
I thought something was a little off when I saw it in theaters, but I was so impressed by the design and Anson Mount's presence it kind of glossed over.
>At one point during filming of THE HOBBIT, Sir Ian McKellen broke down crying due to the constant greenscreen stating, "This is not why I became an actor."
Huh, I genuinely didn't notice. Can't work out if that's cool or creepy.
both
Me either, I don't mind CGI if it's not egregiously awful or not noticeable.
I did
Best male suit so far
Moon knight's isnt. Why?
No sense in making a practical costume for a short cameo
Black Bolt and Reed’s appearances were only added in the reshoots. There was likely no time to do the whole fitting and molding, easier to just CGI his costume.
You know. When they want to, they can do some amazing cgi work.
Muted colours probably helps. No weird lighting issues where your brain tells you there should be a reflection.
It's only muted in the Illuminati trial scene. The rest of the movie is pretty vibrant for the most part.

Why bother investing the time to CG a suit into a guy who only shows up for five minutes? Actually, never mind, I guess I just answered my own question.
That's why. It's actually cheaper to CG him for a few minutes than build a full suit that will only get used for a few minutes.
So are most of the suits in Marvel movies these days. Watch literally any behind the scenes footage, it's not any kind of a secret.

But Mysterio using a VR suit is actually genius. Look his eyes are even on the suit as a pattern
>Look his eyes are even on the suit as a pattern
>just altered to include some details from his Mysterio suit
Congratulations on repeating what was said in the post you quoted!
shit like this is brilliant but it was so shitty that Mysterio was wasted as an Iron Man villain.
>iron man villian who never meets Iron Man and only fought Spiderman
exactly, motherfricker is fighting Spider-Man and he only cares about Iron Man the whole time.
This is funnily subverted with No Way Home since Green Goblin becomes so obsessed with MCU Peter that he can't care less about Tobey.
>one of the few good mcu bad guys

Not really, he only cares about getting famous so people will actually be invested in the technology he can offer.
This actually makes sense though
I think they do this so the material doesn't look baggy or ill fitting
So, they can do good CG where it's almost indistinguishable from something real, what's their fricking excuse for everything else looking PS3-tier sometimes?
Farmed out to low bidding CGI studios while also being rushed to meet harsh deadlines set by the studio.
I fricking love greenscreen.
Get your fricking hand outta my dogs ass.
Are those guys pulling the cape lmao. I never thought about how his cape billows, I just assume a big fan but this is more funny.
Kind of like Japanese bunraku theater, with the dudes manipulating stuff in the background.
>superman versus the kryptonite putties
why?
because chris sanders
Well, at least it looks good. It's still odd but I wouldn't call it absurd if the effects aren't horrible.
Makes sense, both him and Reed were added later, it was supposed to be Balder
Fricking hell
Why am I supposed to find this funny, OP? Because you're a homosexual?
If anything, for all of OP's homosexualry, he just proved that Marvel is capable of pushing out good CG like Black Bolt's costume, they're just fricking stupid when it comes to making sure it's consistent with their hard-on for cutting things out, redoing them, and making the CG teams rush their work, making it look like shit as a consequence.

I wonder what else is CGI
Oh no no no no no, Marvelbros, what happened?
Turns out a middle aged woman with no real desire to get buff who probably is just doing this movie because it's a good paycheck can't and won't get really fricking buff overnight.
Can anyone tell me why this is a bad thing...? OP clearly wrote the the post as if he had just found out.
Wrong board
Also that's just sad.
>This is Black Bolt. He's got my back.
I thought something was a little off when I saw it in theaters, but I was so impressed by the design and Anson Mount's presence it kind of glossed over.
Looks bad either way.
>At one point during filming of THE HOBBIT, Sir Ian McKellen broke down crying due to the constant greenscreen stating, "This is not why I became an actor."
If you didn't notice until they show the green screen shot then it's working, though, ain't it?
op is a bot, most of deadpool scenes have a cgi costume too
