My only concern was it felt like it was trying too hard to be like Daria and it felt flat after the 1st two episodes, but the show is alright. The crude humor and satire was there. Media outlets and critics weren't even accurate about their hate for the show.

Agreed, it's been a dogpile for views. Some people are still capitalizing on it. I get that a lot of the anger is groups fed up of race swapping whites to browns and yeah, kinda sucks that we're back to that. But the shows fine if you accept a few things:
1. It's not the classic interpretation of the Scooby characters in any shape or form other than their names and clothes
2. Velma is unlikeable even in the show to the point where even though as a brainy teenage girl in a modern tv show she has to have liberal/woke view points, 90% of the time she gets called out by the other characters in the show for having that viewpoint. Even by other women who call her views on women narrow minded. Shes a loser who literally eats french fries from the trash. When you consider it a deliberate choice in order to make her the butt of the joke for comedic purposes, that leads to the next point
3. The show is nothing but an average modern adult cartoon where most of the characters are flawed and buttholey in at least some ways to eachother
It's not even a woke show outside of having gay people and minorities in it. If it was truly woke, Velma would always be considered right and wouldn't be considered a loser by everyone else. The women in the show wouldn't be sexualized. Modern feminism and male feminists wouldn't be mocked. None of the black or brown characters would have flaws etc
All it takes to enjoy it is an open mind and ignoring that the characters are supposed to be the Scooby Doo cast.
In my opinion.
But you actually watched the show. The people complaining about it are just looking for engagement and outrage clicks.
