Blood Hunt has me wondering why mutants haven't clashed with vampires more often. Vampires want to rule over humans the same way mutants do, and mutant blood is probably just as nourishing to them as human blood is.

They have a couple of times. That issue with Dracula trying to seduce Storm, all that shit with Jubilee being a vampire, I think there's at least one other time I can't remember.
Also apparently they all were gone from Marvel at some point the 80s until I don't know, Blade being a hit at least would've brought them back I guess
ExTerminators and a chunk of Wolverine's current series are recent examples.
Traditionally vampires were a lot rarer than mutants. Blood Hunt does the usual event thing where suddenly there's a huge army of enemy npcs that didn't exist before (also happened in Fear Itself, War of Realms etc) and who will never exist again.
Because Apocalypse beat the shit out of Dracula so hard that he doesnt want a repeat
Apocalypse got his shit wrecked by Dracula to the point of nearly having his entire powerbase wiped out and needing help from humans.
>All the Vampires, Mutants, Robots, and hyper intelligent Apes are constantly at war to be the future master race.
>They just end up constantly stepping on each other toes and humans remain the dominant species.
Forgot your pic, Kang.
>hyper intelligent Ape
Does Marvel have those?
Yes, but they're communists
Mackay made some sly commentary on how close vampire and mutant dogma is. It was pretty funny
Blade is technically a mutant
And Apocalypse and Dracula came to blows many a time.
Apocy was not having any of Vlads bullshit and just walked into his crib and curb stomped him.
Him and his wierdo apocalypse family supposedly have a long standing blood fued with the vampires.
they're creepy and they're kooky
mutated and spooky
apocalypse family
Writers forget that vampires exist in the universe for large periods of time and underuse them. But if anything they’ve become overused recently. X-Terminators, Wolverine run, the Unforgiven run, now Blood Hunt.
Blood Hunt was an idea Brevoort had to unify all those previous stories. He wanted a big event with all the vampire lore from the last 5+ years in one and got Mackay to write it. So it is the culmination of all the stuff you mention
>Vampires want to rule over humans
Do they, though? I remember when Dracula's shitkid tried to replace him and do that, and Dracula I think sort of tried in MI 13, but did they try so hard back in the day?
>Writers forget that vampires exist in the universe for large periods of time and underuse them
To be fair, they didn't for some periods of time. There was this
and they also were supposedly extinct again for a bit after MI 13, at least. Maybe other times.
Vampires got supposedly exterminated twice, first by the Montesi Formula and then after the MI:13 war. There were a couple more events where their population was drastically reduced. Ironically Blood Hunt seems to imply there were literally millions of vampires just hiding out on earth despite all this which seems highly unlikely. They would have been a much more prominent danger otherwise.
I mean chernobyl was full of them and they are turning people during this event
So why is Blade evil now?
Posessed by Varnae
>Varnae
who?
How is that even possible, he just defeated the Adana or whatever her name is!
>who?
>How is that even possible, he just defeated the Adana or whatever her name is!
Father of vampires. Like four different Blood Hunt issues teased him so far.
SO let me guess, he got into Blade because he was in Dracula's blood, which Blade drank.
The original vampire. From atlantis
And Miles is a vampire now spying for Blade, right?
Yes it's pretty obvious when he reached out to Miles before he revealed that he was masterminding the attack
And yet everything will be okay at the end despite presumably millions dying
Mutants more often than not feel like they're in their own separate universe at times.
>X-Men are shitting themselves over AI while Krakoa is going on but ignore that Ultron is arguably as big a threat as Nimrod is, if not greater
>Mutants and mutant related characters frick with time 24/7 (Bishop, Cable, DoFP Wolverine and Nimrod, Rasputin IV, Orchis' Omega Sentinel, etc) but you never see Immortus or the TVA telling them to stop fricking with time
>>but ignore that Ultron is arguably as big a threat as Nimrod is, if not greater
Because Ultron is always off-board due to him being an Avengers villain which means you'd have to deal with another editiorial office in order to use him
>>but you never see Immortus or the TVA telling them to stop fricking with time
Above also applies to Immortus and you never see the TVA because no one actually ever uses the TVA
How many times has fhe phoenix force remade the world? And yet still Uncle Ben is still uncle dead.
With Bucky resurrected Ben is the only one left in the afterlife.
He got all that space for himself.
Maybe "Mutant blood can be more intense/unknown with the flavor" Junbillie is a vamp though
She hasn't been a vampire for like 5-6 years now
Vampires suck.
