I'm trying to enjoy the brutality of the fights, but every fricking time Ringo opens his goddamn fat mouth he ruins the whole show by himself.
A little lazy writing in itself I could tolerate, that and the villains being hilariously inhuman is a staple of the genre, but it does get pretty egregious at one point
>"Honor is for LOSERS, you should NEVER rest until your enemy is dead!" >Gets invited to a tea ceremony by a huge guy with a tetsubo >Refuses to explain >Leaves for tea
What the frick you literally went against your own advice so that the meetup could happen
The series does try way, way too hard to make the idea that a princess trying to strike out as a strong independent woman in feudal Japan is somehow a valid life path.
I strongly disagree. The fact that she sells herself and somehow doesn't end up even more brutalised than when she got jumped by bandits, even conveniently bumping into Mizu, alone is terrible writing. You can't just introduced the premise of the setting's brutality and then waive it because the same "teehee, I'm so clever!" attitude that has gotten a character in over her head is allowed to blunder until someone else bails her dumb ass out.
>nobody likes a snitch and a sellout.
he a b***h and a entire coward ass homie.
Taigen showed more dignity than him and his whole motivation was to abandon any chances for his marriage and kill someone for giving him a literal close shave. And to be fair, judging from how quickly Akemi's dad switched suitors he kind of had a point. In feudal Japanese society he pretty much had to get his face back to reclaim his social standing.
Yeah. Extremely obnoxious, especially with how the show sets up her getting kicked down by the real world and then luckshits her way into crossing paths with the MC by finding the stupidest pimp in town. Also, feudal samurai man allowing a woman on top? Seriously?
You know, the strange thing is I'm fine with Mizu herself. She's just a vengeful ronin. But damn, the princess is almost as annoying as Ringo. Both of them are just, horribly tone-deaf with regards to the rest of the setting. Shit Ringo even rubs off on Taigen a little and makes him act like more of a generic dudebro.
Honestly I don't mind it because women back then were ACTUALLY oppressed, my core problem is how they made the dad go full moron to make it work, he was actually fair to her and respected her wishes and tried his best to do right by her
While the racism angle was handled with a lot more nuanced and 10 steps above the "WHITE MAN BAD, POO HOO THE POOR BLACKOS" shit we get 24/7
Weird, I have the exact opposite problem with everything about Akemi. I don't mind the dad going full moron, that's actually on par with how brides were treated in those days and even when he was being reasonable he saw the marriage as a commercial venture first and foremost. I'm more annoyed by the fact that the princess gets so much plot armour to continue being a shitty brat that never has to listen to anyone overturn her worldview because after a sharp learning experience, she gets to femdom her way through life like she's actually posting on Cinemaphile.
Also her mannerisms aren't like those of a japanese girl at all, she acts like a valley girl stuck in a japanese body.

Nah, she's straight. By gay shit he means LITERAL gay shit, as in a geisha helping two hairy dudes get off and frick each other in the geisha brothel. Extras fricking.
Tbqh while big parts of the story come across like some angry feminist's power fantasy, Mizu is by far the least insufferable character. She's just a revenge-crazed blood-soaked demon and the story never pretends otherwise. The princess has far more plot armour and gets to cheat her own lesson. The secret villain set up is just an attempt to pretend that feudal Japan had chinese Empress shit going on, to make the feared noblemen actually pussywhipped by their own motehr. The brothel keeper somehow is presented as noble despite asking for the girl she wanted to "protect" killed instead of rescued, even though subsequently it's shown Mizu can handle everyone the local legbreaker sends to enforce his rule. And fatfrick Ringo ruins every scene he's in so much and has so little character development, I cannot take the show's attempt to make HIM be the thing that makes Mizu reconsider her path seriously.
>girl swordsman
She trained herself. So she's the strongest ever. And she's a pro blacksmith too. And she made a sword from a meteorite metal, that even her master couldn't. But somehow couldn't reforge it?
Okay fine, but when she beat 20 men twice her size BAREHANDED, then beat zombie pack, then beat an OGRE, then she climbs a wall while carrying a man roughly 1.5 time heavier then her, my suspense of disbelieve walks out the window.
This thing jumped the shark too many times.
Her husband had to flip his charter because men are scum.
Dicks everywhere.
Main badguy is a christian who likes to take it up his ass and an absolute fricking scum pig etc
And ther's probably other mild woke shit I forgot about
It's written by some half-jap b***h who desperately wanted to self-insert, and tell everyone how badass she is
This show had potential but wasted it on telling everyone that GIRLS CAN BE STRONG TOO YOU SEXISTS CHUDS, BETCHA SCARED OF HER(ME), YOU SHOULD, KNOW YOUR PLACE CIS SCUM.
>And she's a pro blacksmith too. And she made a sword from a meteorite metal, that even her master couldn't.
It fricking broke because she is bad at it and made it "too pure". Watch the show.
And yes the samuari kills 30v1 fights it's a samuari movie cope harder.
Main bad guy explicitly doesn't worship God at all.
>Girl power
The whole show is her being ashamed of being a girl and hiding that from everyone whenever she can.
The MC is also completely unlikeable and a despicable person. Why the frick should I care about whether or not she succeeds in her quest? Her motivations are flimsy and shit, she's no better than characters she kills while also not being interesting enough to justify following her. After season 1 I am entirely sick of her and won't be watching any more.
I'd reply to this, but the lengths you go to blatantly misrepresent the show give me the impression that I'll waste my time on a person who'll argue in bad faith
I was.
it*
i think there was some lazy writing at points and the art was really wonky at times but i really enjoyed it.

What the frick you literally went against your own advice so that the meetup could happen
The problem with this style of 3D is that all of its "cheats" aren't really discovered
Good visuals, frick awful narrative.
I suppose anything looks good compared to capeshit, if your standards have been lowered by decades and decades of Comics & Cartoons.
The biggest moron to ever exist.
>sold her out because she was better then him at swordsmanship
Understatement of the year.
I love how everyone agrees that dude is a b***h ass homie.
He had a baddie and then sold her out. He deserved what he got.
I rag on this show's flaws because they are egregious and numerous, but nobody likes a snitch and a sellout.
>nobody likes a snitch and a sellout.
he a b***h and a entire coward ass homie.
It was her mom. Where did the drug money come from?
Looks woke and anti-white.
The series does try way, way too hard to make the idea that a princess trying to strike out as a strong independent woman in feudal Japan is somehow a valid life path.
I mean it doesn't, not really, her power still comes from her husband

It has its obnoxious feminist angle with the princess but the show is actually ANTI anti white

Sexo
Funny how nude images of this show are allowed here
>e
How does Mizu know there were only four white men in Japan when she was born?
>all of the white devils are British
Lame, I was hoping for a smorgasbord of evil Euros
>white man bad
>unnecessary nudity
>gay shit because that's the admission fee into the industry now
Yeah no, I'm not watching this slop
so she was a dyke, a bunch of homosexuals were on here trying to claim that this b***h was straight lmao
She is Bi. She fricked me both and enjoyed it.
so she cucked the bully character

Protagonist being a self-hater took me out of the show.
