Yep! but it's a slightly offbeat kind of humor. If you hated Home Movies, Science Court, etc, you won't like this
Also only watch the first 12 seasons unless you don't care about people getting fired or recast for shitty reasons
>Yep! but it's a slightly offbeat kind of humor. If you hated Home Movies, Science Court, etc, you won't like this
This. I personally enjoy it since I'm fine with this type humor.
Used to be pretty funny, now it's just meh, like familiar junk food you eat to pass the time. It's also been infatilized to hell, doesn't feel like an adult show anymore. It realies so heavily on the kids having silly little kids adventures with the same old cast of silly little kids and whatever adult joke they have going nowadays would be tame in comparison to an adult "hidden" joke in an actual children's show from 20 years ago. Most "crude" thing you'll see is something like their recurrent trans sex worker appear, say two lines and inmediately disappear. The movie was shit, too, almost regret watching it.

I liked it. It was pretty good.
When Molyneux and Bouchard said that I immediately started wondering who is the actual talent and drive behind Bob's Burgers, because it can't be these two pretentious douchebags.
>Also only watch the first 12 seasons unless you don't care about people getting fired or recast for shitty reasons >shitty e-tier actor gets fired for getting caught committing treason >barely even a presence or memorable voice in the show >election tourist needs to immediately bring it up every chance they get
It had a chance to be.
The pilot episode is the show at its peak potential. Human Flesh was A fun quirky kinda dark show.
After Tony becomes tina its all downhill. It becomes this gross mix between >Friday night kids cartoon >Seattle trannies on rollerblades progressive value preaching
And it just gets less funny over time.
If you like the pacific northwest vibes in an eastern town you might find it cozy. Thats as good as it gets.
>The pilot episode is the show at its peak potential
This, after getting up to date on the show the pilot feels so bizarre and dark, but is still one of the funniest episodes. >"You're the worst kind of autistic!" >"You can't even count..."
Or >Bob: "He looks like a child molestor... Louise don't bring him the burger, let Gene do it." >Gene: "Why do I have to get molested? >B: "No he won't molest you because you're... heavy." >G: "Heavy kids can get molested!" >Louise, pinching his cheeks: "Yeah who wouldn't wanna molest this face?"
You would never get an exchange like that in the show now, nothing even close to that dark. The longer it goes on, the more it wants to be a wholesome family show which is a total waste.
I liked when Bob smoked crack with the unpassing troons. What's funny is that the show literally started at the beginning of the culture war, and it had to neuter itself fairly quickly with each season.
Also, OG Louise was fun.
you are the kind of guy who says that simpsons peaked at season 1 ep 2 then either regrets or denies watching season 4 to 8 (the actual peak of the series) and that it should have ended at S1.
that's largely the reason it airs before the watershed and after KOTH on [adult swim]: the show isn't as crude as American Dad or Rick & Morty, so it's safe enough to put on while children may still be awake
That show and Bob's Burgers have the unique distinction of never needing to be censored. No bleeped swear words, pixelated nudity, or on-screen middle fingers. I like this approach since it allowed each show to feel more "real," but I feel like after a while Bob's took these restraints too far and is now basically just a kids' cartoon.
Loren Bouchard formed the wrong idea about what it is that most fans fell in love with in the first place: https://www.twitter.com/dreadful4tymes/status/1739671512926310709
for "adults", 20-late 30's millenials that think they are too smart for family guy and will get a heart attack from southpark, it's basically a happy family simulator kinda like bluey
Not anymore, not even close. Honestly, a few episodes this season made me genuinely think why was I watching a show for children, why was it even sandwiched in the animation domination block.
It's fricking weird that such a tame show shared room with Family Guy. You'd be hard-pressed to find an episode from the last five years with a TV-14 rating. Even Simpsons never softened up despite Bartmania attracting a lot of kids during the '90s.

The movie was shit, too, almost regret watching it.
I liked it. It was pretty good.
The movie didn't show Louise without the hat and therefore is a failure to me.
The plot and character arcs are just completely disconnected from themselves. For example, the restaurant facing a broken water main and sinkhole that could shut them down permanently has the most convoluted and asinine approach by the kids to save the restuarant by proving Mr.Fischoeder isn't a murderer. I find that to be a nonsensical solution where no clear guarantee of working.
You then got the only character arc of the movie with Louise trying to prove she's brave, an inherently out of character trait that Louise never shown to have a problem and in fact has already been established as having the exact opposite problem where scaring her is difficult and that's why she takes such ridiculous risks.
Bravery in the face of danger is not the theme the movie should've focused on because that's not what Louise was actually singing about in the hallway and how Chloe teased her about on the playground. This movie set up this conflict about growing up that it cowardly abandons for a more cheaper and digestible reaffirmation that Louise is brave.
It's like they had to stop when they realize they couldn't do the arc without having to actually show the ears coming off but still kept the entire framework of Louise's arc anout growing up, hence this last scene to prove Louise right and Chloe wrong.

Tl;dr >Louise's conflict in the movie should by all account about growing up and leaving childish things like her ears behind. >that's too drastic of a change tho so they chickened out by making it about bravery.

I would love to see an artbook or some kind of BTS to see what the movie originally set out to be.

It suffers from the being lively and energetic and colorful and musical means I'm funny phallusy
The best episodes aren't funny and aren't trying to be funny
Because Bob's austistic devotion to his ideal version of a burger place means he'll never succeed and his family will always be poor. Every opportunity is squandered, every victory is temporary, and breaking even is sometimes all he can hope for. More than once Bob has been pressured into some dehumanizing situation by his landlord for the pathetic prize of "a few months off his rent", or had to give up on something that can actually bring him financial success out of stubborness, the antics of his children, or some other contrived reason.
It's a standard sitcom "everything went back to normal" structure, but after so many seasons it has started to feel like torture. Bob will never win.
what about its rich best friend that actually and unironically wanted to invest on him, but with the condition that he had to make some changes, yeah the hawaian stuff was dumb, but it was something dumb that actually got clients into the restaurant, but Bob ditched it because he hates hawaii stuff.
There are some parts that are funny, but it is a comfy show because there are some wholesome family themes in there.
Though, the show does have it's autistic fanbase because all characters are primarily unattractive, socially inept, low income, unsuccessful, long-term failures, etc. These themes resonate with fans as relatable. Not to mention everyone is an attention-prostitute of some sort, like Linda, who gets annoying fast.
Louise needs her little girl interaction with actual female actors playing them quota up.
And that's not just me saying that but Kristen Schaal herself.
>Maya Eskrine >Stephanie Beatriz >Kristen Bell >Kathryn Hahn >Amber Heard
Hell Katie Crown is a writer for the show so they always have talent on hand to do little girl voices.
Ten year old Tom is so much better it isn't even comparable, let alone something like Tarantula
mature a little anon. you might actually find good content, then lmao 'adult', fricking Spongebob is more adult than this shit

Also, OG Louise was fun.
It felt like they were trying to get banned. Even Bob and Linda are named after characters from horror movies, not to mention Louise's inspiration.
The OG show would have had an episode about Tina losing her virginity.
OG Louise would have tried to seduce Mr. Fischoeder.
you are the kind of guy who says that simpsons peaked at season 1 ep 2 then either regrets or denies watching season 4 to 8 (the actual peak of the series) and that it should have ended at S1.
No. It's loud and obnoxious with moronic "ironic" butt jokes. It feels like if Tumblr made a cartoon but actuall wanted it to be profitable
It's alright.
Why do they sing all the time?
Because a semi-musical two parter did well once.
Is everyone autistic? Why is does everyone seem so... off?
It used to be. Now it simply "has its moments" and is only mildly amusing.
Can't fap to any of the characters
That's literally not true
I can't fap to that
that sounds like a skill issue, eunuch
My penis works fine. The girl just needs to be attractive.
But she is.
Too overbearing.
Maybe back then. But now she’s not overbearing enough.
From what I've seen, yeah, it's decently funny.
pretty good! Gene sucks tho
Hey, why all the Gene hate? What'd he ever do to you??
Frick that play episode
In the family friendly com sense
Isn’t it a show for adults? I always see it compared to Family guy
It's very tame and well behaved. It barely has any provocative or particularly risque jokes.
It's a family show in the way KOH was like it's adult cartoon but most parents will have no issues with it.

for "adults", 20-late 30's millenials that think they are too smart for family guy and will get a heart attack from southpark, it's basically a happy family simulator kinda like bluey
Funny thing is that the show has been so dedicated to being a happy family simulator that they stop being a happy family.
Not anymore, not even close. Honestly, a few episodes this season made me genuinely think why was I watching a show for children, why was it even sandwiched in the animation domination block.

For the first few seasons
>cutting off Tina's feet
No. They think a dude voicing a female character is the non plus ultra of funny.
>a dude voicing a female character
No wonder she's extra unfappable

Don't be silly anon. Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and the Simpsons are just noise in the background, while we await our inevitable end.
It was
It's one of the only shows where the son is the worst character
I occasionally get a chuckle but nothing beyond that. It's just The Simpsons for the STOMP CLAP HEY crowd.
>the STOMP CLAP HEY crowd
There are people like this?
unfortunately yes
Louise show how she feels about wearing socks.
Louise's lovely legs.
Not anymore
The first two seasons were garbage then I think it had 4-5 good ones
Season 3 is the gold standard.

Oddly comfy and depressing at the same time.
Depressing how? You mean because Bob is such a pushover now?
Because Bob's austistic devotion to his ideal version of a burger place means he'll never succeed and his family will always be poor. Every opportunity is squandered, every victory is temporary, and breaking even is sometimes all he can hope for. I've grown tired of
>Bob: I want something that will bring mild joy into my life.
>The whole world (Including Bob): NO!!!
>Bob: Oh ok. -sighs-
what about its rich best friend that actually and unironically wanted to invest on him, but with the condition that he had to make some changes, yeah the hawaian stuff was dumb, but it was something dumb that actually got clients into the restaurant, but Bob ditched it because he hates hawaii stuff.
Don't know about you, but if I ran a restaurant it's gonna be set up in a way I enjoy seeing every day.
it’s a cartoon
It's the choice of the writers.

I like teddy, he’s funny. Something about a pathetic muppet man is pure comedy to me
WHERE IS HARRY TRUMAN
He's dead in the ground/ dead in the ground/ dead dead dead dead dead...
>that episode where Bob shaves off his mustache and Louise says something about gluing them to Gene's balls
Louise needs her little girl interaction with actual female actors playing them quota up.
And that's not just me saying that but Kristen Schaal herself.
