the show was obviously setting tyrell up to be another one of elliots personalities but they dropped it because too many people figured it out. they were teasing it the whole time throughout season 2. thats why this scene is so strange.
also at about 20 seconds you probably never noticed this but the guy who runs into elliot didn't trip on elliot, elliot threw him to the ground, he was trying to push elliot out of the way but elliot throws him. it happens off screen
>elliot threw him to the ground, he was trying to push elliot out of the way but elliot throws him. it happens off screen
You see Elliot stumble away from the force of the push then immediately see the guy falling down. Makes most sense to me that the guy tripped on Elliot.
Personally I wasn't even totally sure Mr. Robot was an alternate personality until the graveyard. I mean it was ambiguous but there's a scene where Elliot's in a stairwell and another major character seemingly lets Robot in from downstairs and I thought that had showed he was real.
That all to say, I definitely wasn't thinking Tyrell was an alt personality. How would you square it all? Tyrell has a wife and gets visited by the police and already holds a more significant job at the firm Elliot's job consults for. The two are in the room as opposing when the two companies are reviewing the hack evidence.
the first season is kind of like a hacker version of fight club. elliot and mr robot is kind of an obvious twist, i think they originally intended to one-up fight club and add another personality twist on top of it. its literally teases throughout season 2, they just decided to not do it because everyone figured it out. the show even has where is my mind playing multiple times
Okay. I haven't seen Fight Club (though I know the twist) so maybe that's why I wasn't as sure. I'm just saying that Edward Alderson had a bunch of rules for how he is depicted in season 1 so that, for example, only he or Elliot has the true physical presence in any scene while people are around. Justification for Tyrell being a personality just seems to be that he's a big weirdo and is also a Linux autist.
Tyrell's whereabouts is maybe *the* big mystery of season 2 but by that point him being a personality would pretty much be a cop out.
In fact the season is structured so that, Elliot knowing way fewer of Tyrell's personal details than the audience does, Elliot himself actually comes to believe that Tyrell is not entirely real.
Same. Maybe I'm moronic but I never considered Tyrell being another personality. It makes no sense with him being married and having a kid.

Elliot thinking Tyrell is one of his personalities just shows that Elliot is schizo, it doesn't mean they intended for it to be the case. Because it would make no sense with tyrell having a wife and expensive house etc.

the same complaints can be said about elliot and mr robot being the same person. theyre both shown many times in the same room interacting with people

Elliot and Edward only double-team people in season 2 onward (mostly 3/4) and at that point you understand that only one of them has a physical presence at any single moment. For example when Vera is making the therapist tell the truth, nobody hears Edward's objections when Elliot is asking for the truth because Elliot is in physical presence.
Season 1 is filmed pretty meticulously so that in scenes where the gang is around Elliot and Edward, they're only really paying attention to one, for example one character won't speak the whole scene or everyone's eyes will only be on the one person.
This kind of careful filmmaking is never attempted for Elliot and Tyrell. Instead the decisions made make it basically impossible for them to be one and the same. The scene at the cybersecurity company where Elliot is trying to conceal the correct disk and Tyrell is onto him is pretty telling, for example. You can't logically explain the reactions of the other characters in a situation where one personality works at Ecorp and one works at the cybersecurity firm.
the whole show completely fell apart after season one when Esmail got the memo that le evil corporations are in fact not evil but the evil people are the chinese. S2 was trash, S3 complete shit. They should have ended after seasons one
Esmail needed an antagonist to be a 'dark' therapist who would drag out the truth about Mr Robot by force from Elliot. Making it Vera let him use it a season ending sting, no need to introduce any new major character. And will create extra tension because Vera killed Elliot's girlfriend.
I wished I saved all the moronic Cinemaphile memes of this show
like the one where that guy is walking by Elliotts desk and sees the Asuka wallpaper and starts talking about how Rei is better and how Asuka is a bawd and bawds are for cucks
they were setting tyrell up to be one of his personalities in s1 too. this is s1e2 and its the same room where all elliots other personalities congregate
So what about the other dozen businessmen there?
The personalities occupy that room because of what it represents to Mastermind: a sort of grand conspiracy of his own mind he antagonizes and desires to uncover.
Are all swedish people like him and his wife ?
pretty sure he's danish
The Green Butchers created my perception of danish people
Yes, all Swedish people are like him, his wife, and his wife's boyfriend.
god i wish i was a secretary rn... i need him so bad, Cinemaphile sisters... i need him.
thirsty women aren't allowed in my thread go away
Too bad you'll never be a woman
>say i wanna be a secretary
>the secretary tyrrell fricks is a guy
>im a guy
what? i'm so confused. like no shit, homosexual.
Terrible show
Sam Esmail had NO IDEA what to do with this character *OR* his wife, it's pretty irritating in retrospect.

You haven't seen Fight Clu? What. Stop what you're doing, right now, and watch that shit.
Same. Maybe I'm moronic but I never considered Tyrell being another personality. It makes no sense with him being married and having a kid.
If it was teased I didn't see it at all.
I figured Elliot just killed him for some reason.
watch the show again and youll see them teasing it. elliot even freaks out in the s2 finale because he thinks tyrell is one of his personalities
Elliot thinking Tyrell is one of his personalities just shows that Elliot is schizo, it doesn't mean they intended for it to be the case. Because it would make no sense with tyrell having a wife and expensive house etc.

>but the evil people are the chinese
cao ni ma
Season 2 is the best season and I won't apologize for believing that.

This. S1 is kino. Everything after it was shit to the point I stopped watching.
What was the point of Vera? WHy have him return?
Esmail needed an antagonist to be a 'dark' therapist who would drag out the truth about Mr Robot by force from Elliot. Making it Vera let him use it a season ending sting, no need to introduce any new major character. And will create extra tension because Vera killed Elliot's girlfriend.
Is that Shawn from Boy Meets World?
what ever happened to the vigilante bullshit where elliot doxxed pedos?
He didn't make a thing of regularly doxxing pedos, he did it because he just stumbled across one.
Instead of taking down random people he decided to then try to take down the evil mega corporation
No puppet, no puppet, you're the puppet
I wished I saved all the moronic Cinemaphile memes of this show
like the one where that guy is walking by Elliotts desk and sees the Asuka wallpaper and starts talking about how Rei is better and how Asuka is a bawd and bawds are for cucks
Imagine if Elliot's third personality was Tyrell's hot-ass wife
and he's been getting railed pregnant and tied up to his bed in between tearing down corporate civilisation?
they were setting tyrell up to be one of his personalities in s1 too. this is s1e2 and its the same room where all elliots other personalities congregate
