The downside is he's harder to take seriously in non-comedy roles. I watched Forbidden Planet recently and it took me a while to not expect a gag when he was on screen.
His ability to play comedy completely straight instead of half straight looking at the camera when the punchline hits is why he's so much funnier than any other comedy actor in history.
he lost that ability the further he went. he was incredibly dry and straight in the police squad tv show, slightly goofier and broader in naked gun, and progressively went full clown mode later on.
Seth's movies arent bad, definitely the better comedy movies made in the 2010s
I think the time has passed for those kind of comedies unfortunately. That behind said the UK show A Touch of Cloth was inspired by Naked Gun and works well
>touch of cloth
i caught this show during the lockdown and it's one of the last very few thing 100% about the laughs without anything else going on that i've seen or am aware of in the last 10 years.
it's a bit hard to watch as 90 minutes episodes in one go, there's some lame jokes and characters in the bunch and fatigue can set on after a while, but the great bits are really great.
modern 'memes':
thundering base slam
"aww helll nooooo"
flatulance and wet fart sound effect
cartoon tiptoe sound effect
annoying yawn noise
yeah, how the frick can modern minds connect with absurd humor from 40 years ago when they have no grounding in any substatial reality from which to get the jokes?
i thought it was funny
>t. zoomer
OP BTFO again
????kys
You ever been in a Turkish prison?
It's not as funny as I remember it being, nowhere near as good as naked gun
This I will agree with. If you've seen it once, you've seen it enough times. But Leslie Nielsen had this comical aura that no one else did.

hope you like the classic, imagine stuffy plebs in the 1950's seeing that.
fricking landmark in cinema.

Do you like movies about gladiators?
This one (and the sequel) is stupid fun.
>HSIII
>Topper Harley comes out of retirement
>Also nearly 60 like Cruise Missile
damn there's some potential
Funnier than anything past 2012
It's still the funniest movie to this date, it's full of brilliant jokes and perfect comic timing
It was funny - really funny, at the time.
It hasn't aged too poorly, but it certainly has aged.
Daily reminder that Seth McFarlane is making a Naked Gun 4
>Naked Gun 4
>Liam Neeson Set To Star In ‘Naked Gun’ Reboot
Kino
I do like how Liam Neeson sounds like Leslie Neilson and he's playing Frank Drebin's son in this sequel
Seth's movies arent bad, definitely the better comedy movies made in the 2010s
>Neighbors 2
>The Night Before
>That super israelitey anti-Christmas movie
Wrong Seth
wrong seth, this one made robot chicken, austin powers and such
Seth's best jokes were on Johnny Bravo t b h
Seth was by far the worst part of that Daniel Craig southern heist movie
He's really good in this clip. I could see it
He'd play it well I think
