As a die-hard fan I can tell you, Borderlands 3 is a beautiful game that is completely unplayable without a dialogue skip patch. Textures and sounds are just fabulous to my autism. Borderlands 2 was already barely playable with dialogues on. Great franchise, scummy management, bottom of the barrel writing/humor/voice acting.
This. Borderlands is about gameplay not story. Any film trying to be faithful to the game story will suck.
I like playing the girl the mech. I got some redux mod that made the ultimate form less shitty. Favorite part of that game has to be when you fire that rail gun or whatever and vaporize the gay asian guy along with his ship.
This, Katagawa section was the best, even though it was just corporate slapfight, that was the only part with a feeling of stakes.

I still find it fascinating that they have mission in B3 about baristabots, burgers, and locally sourced eco friendly coffee cups in the middle of war which is clearly a fricking mockery, but then they go and do the rest of the story exactly in the same tone with no hint of irony, it's incredible.

The Gotham show did both sorta successfully. Anal care with the whole wardrobe and sets, and a good amount of respect for the lore but full wacky and camp.
Gotham also had this good writing where every character's skillset was well defined and used with the power levels staying consistant throughout the show.

I do believe that became a thing because they forgot their own theme - the humor in the earlier games stemmed from your interaction with clearly insane or low IQ people, that is why you could switch between comedy and serious tone, because when you meet a character named Shooty McFace and he demands you shoot him in the face, it can be worthy of a smirk but you can also realize that he is stranded Dahl ex-miner that went insane due to the alien radiation that is slowly poisoning everyone on the planet.
People tend to forget that Tannis went actually insane years and years ago, and only reason she isn't a violent psycho was her high IQ, and now they just think she is haha so quirky when she spent three whole years in the wasteland in isolation while all her friends turned into cannibalistic animals.

B3 was the first game where I felt the group of main Vault Hunters had absolutely no stake in the story and no reason to stick around.
The looting shooting co-op aspect is only redeemable feature. I intro'd my ex to it and jfc I couldn't stop cringing anytime a character said anything, I was genuinely embarrassed.

This is a very bad sign. Mazin's original screenplay was reportedly absolutely fantastic, and the quality of the screenplay is why studios were interested in the film to begin with. It kinda sounds like Eli "gore porn hack" Roth has mutilated the project so badly Mazin doesn't want to be associated anymore.

This should have been a TV series, the games are 20 hours long, no way you can cram everything into a 2 hour movie without significantly altering or cutting out major plot points. Also maybe with a cast that isn't decades older than the characters they're playing.

I think it was borderlands 2 I remember fondly, it was a great moment in gaming. Played the shit out of it and for some reason even tho I live in Idaho I'd always get random Brits when playing online. They were always chill and fun to play with. It was a fun game when gaming wasn't as propagandized like today.
