He didn't call her out, he jus said i'll leave, call me when your ready to learn. He's not exposing her of a fundamental flaw in her character that she need to imporve, he's saying, "okay ur busy I'll wait when ur ready" and then ignored her, that's what she liked about him. Liz should've gotten the Gwen Stacy death in Season 2 from Green Goblin instead so Peter didn't look like a man prostitute. After getting over her death, Peter hooks up with Gwen in Season 4 and then the relationship gets destroyed after Gwen's father dies near the end of Season 5. Then Peter hooks up with Mary Jane at the end.
This allows Peter to be blameless from the result of actions committed by his rogues gallery instead of the cuckshit with Harry.
