the TV show takes place in 229x so it's very much within the reach of all the mainline west coast entires. this means you could expect to see marcus or even house or big empty, black mountain or any other geopolitical entity but the issue with that is that it's dangerous territory to tread on, my guess is they will skirt all the new vegas locations to avoid giving a definitive answer to establish canon. eg. if we go to the strip, it will not show a significant presence of any faction, or you see it from the distance.
it's just pretty weird that they chose the year they chose since it places itself firmly within FONV's setting. the main thing out of west coast fallout i am expecting to see is san francisco or some of the enclave bases like navarro which are all mentioned in bethesda's mainline games. NCR is mentioned along with mojave but only in FO76 which todd had very little to do with.

If you argument is you would prefer if they made it more serious for whatever reason, I won't dispute you. I might enjoy that too. Considering we are currently living in an era where shit is moronicly quippy even when it's trying to be serious, I don't think your perspective on defining attributes holds weight. You want a darker show and I respect that. That said, if any era was the most appropriate to do an accurate fallout adaptation, it would be this one. I think the green super mutants, radscorpions, power armor, mr handy and nuka cola accompanied by the 50s music are effective at conveying the campy spirit of Fallout.
Of course, someone familiar with the franchise is used to them as just being a part of the setting, but I believe newcomers will understand that the spirit is a bit tongue in cheek

i did sort of jump to conclusions but i meant LA aka the boneyard, i would expect them to feature scenes set there if they are showing what happened to it during the great war. they showed off that diamond city looking place and the ghoul shooting it up, i'd place my bets on that being boneyard.
