doesn't zahn mclarnon (or some other indian actor) explicitly state that they ARE indians but they're so fricking crazy that literally every other tribe of indian thinks they're the greatest evil thing/boogeyman ever.

Kinda but not quite, he says they're not Indians but he is basically trucked out to say "uh it's not Indians" then disappears from the movie. Zahler just wanted to make a pulpy western. It's like how REH's Conan has stories that are basically westerns but instead of Injuns they're "Picts".

Man I forgot how fun the Trogs in that movie were. I'm going to go see if there's any lore video essays on Bone Tomahawk

There’s probably essays on the essays. YouTube is nothing but reaction videos, podcast/twitch drama farming, and video essays.

idk but natives were really fricked up. No survivors mentality and all that shit.

This. They weren’t all sitting around smoking peace pipes.

Nobody believes that, pretending the injuns were peace loving is just a vehicle to condone their cruelty.

It's an amalgamation of different tribes with some stuff like breeding stumps being made up. The western and northern tribes were beyond fricked up, most of them deserved extinction. There's a reason some of the injuns allied with the White man to wipe out the others.

obviously not, but they're not explained either. My head canon is that after black plague decimated the native american nations (before europeans arrived), these people went totally post apocalyptic and stayed that way for generations living in the hills with no contact.

There was a mass dieoff on the east coast just before the English arrived, it may have been indigeneous or it may have come from the Spanish further south. No one knows exactly what disease it was.

Yeah and pox blankets were shown to be impossible in studies despite them constantly being mentioned by white haters.

              >pox blankets
It was proposed as an idea by some general during the indian wars, but yeah it wouldn't have worked and there is no evidence anyone even tried it.

Yeah there's a common 'understanding' amongst morons these days that they actually happened.

It came from the Spanish, there are lots of first hand accounts of very small groups exploring massive (by that time periods standards) Native American settlements and societies. By the time the English arrived many many years later there was zero sign of them, seems pretty obvious to me what happened.

yes, the disease actually occurs naturally in fleas in certain areas of the world. the natives suffered 90% depopulation before europeans came and were reduced to warring tribes before they showed up

this looks horribly fake. he doesn't react, squirm, tense up. the actor in the troglodyte costume is barely hacking and is clearly missing the groin... looks pretty badly done. i don't remember it looking this bad the first time i saw it.
hate to say it, but the similar scene in Terrifier did this kill much, much better.

I fricking hate when movies have a character or characters literally ripping humans apart. Breaks my immersion every time. I don't care. There's literally no way two dudes can rip someone in half like Mortal Kombat Noob Saibot even with a hatchet.

its the same way its done with pigs, though butchering pigs happens much slower
for the sake of expediency in the movie they shortened the time down to get from splitting the groin to turning him into two sides of beef

It's uneven. Starts pretty bland and is mostly travelling but if you like westerns like it, it's a goodn', and it gets real brutal.
