I can give you everything except attempts at humour. It's subtle and relies on delivery and facial expressions rather than vulgarity and punchlines. The rest of the your "criticism" is actually positive aspects of the show. Sorry, maybe it's not for you, but Justified is a 10/10 Would Watch Again Multiple Times Cinemaphile certified show.
that would have been good he was definitely better than most of the villains they had in the later seasons and mcdonough is based. they could have completely redone 4 replacing the other detroit guys with quarles and it would have been fine
I agree with you. The plot characters and dialogue are so fricking stupid that when I first watched it I thought is was an absurd comedy. Big tough lawman with a cowboy and conman hillbilly that pretends to be a Nazi share a bond because they grew up in the same town and used to burn coal together lol what the frick.
I just started Banshee the other day after reading a thread on here. Surprisingly not bad cheesecake action. Definite vibes of this show, halfway through S1 my take is Banshee is to Justified what Spartacus is to HBO Rome.
>Jesus Christ, Raylan, you just shot him in the groin. He was surrendering to us. He's now bleeding out and will probably die before he can get medical attention. What the frick is wrong with you?! >It was... justified.
There's a character in the show that thinks like you, he gets pretty much instantly murked because he rejects practicality in favor of LARPing as a cowboy.
I hope you aren't talking about the rapey cowboy kid in the final season because then you'd be a blithering homosexual moron since that guy killed multiple people easily all season and came within half an inch of blowing Raylan's brains out.
I hope you aren't talking about the rapey cowboy kid in the final season because then you'd be a blithering homosexual moron since that guy killed multiple people easily all season and came within half an inch of blowing Raylan's brains out.
Boon was the guy who fancied himself a modern day cowboy, Raylan was just being himself. The fact Raylan beats the cowboy LARPer and his SAA fancy speed-shooter revolver using just his glock makes him that much cooler in my eyes.
As has already been pointed out in this thread, Boon lost because he was arrogant and tried to headshot Raylan, his pretensions to being a cowboy had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Way to miss the point completely lmao. Boon lost because Raylan is just that good he can beat a guy who has kitted himself out for quick-draw shooting while using a regular glock, and drawing second. I don't see how him dressing as a cowboy and having cowboy-like speech patterns affects his gun dueling abilities.
>Boon lost because Raylan is just that good
More like he's smarter.
They're both equally fast, but Raybun knows it's better to aim for the center of mass while Boon goes for headshots
>I don't see how him dressing as a cowboy and having cowboy-like speech patterns affects his gun dueling abilities.
Holy frick you are stupid, this is literally the point I made in my post.
>finish rewatching The Shield >Justified starts playing >leave it on in the background >it actually does get better in the second season
There's still a lot of inconsequential "criminal of the week" Cowboy Bond episodes but the show gets better at maintaining villain-of-the-season storylines as it goes along. I'm halfway done with season 5 and it's still a good background show, not sure if I understand the overwhelming acclaim aside from the two lead performances.
Yeah I could've worded it a bit better but I meant to compare it to NCISVUFBICSI crime procedural shows that old people fall asleep watching reruns of.
I was hoping he would be the sort of big bad that forces hero (Raylan) to team up with his more personal past villain (Boyd) so they take him down together
funnily enough thats my favorite season, it was weird we never found out if he died or what
I was hoping he would be the sort of big bad that forces hero (Raylan) to team up with his more personal past villain (Boyd) so they take him down together
>antagonist unlike anything seen before, playing by his own set of rules >undone by last minute uncharacteristic freaky sex pervert arc
Reminds me of Donal Logue's turn on Sons of Anarchy. That show is actual dogshit and I hate comparing it to Justified though.
It's basically everything that could go wrong when you give an "idea guy" full control over a project. Kurt Sutter's writing worked on The Shield because the showrunner never lost sight of the characters and the writers room checked some of his worst tendencies but there's none of that in SOA. Basically all of the main cast are unlikable dipshits except for the one who gets unceremoniously killed off.
listen bro banshee is stellar kino for seasons 1-3 but 4 is unwatchable garbage. justified is kino all the way through, even the throw away episodes are full of great lines and moments, and most importantly it gets better over time and has a kino ending.
banshee is well worth a watch for 1-3, but production and behind the scenes issues killed the show and season 4 is a dumpster fire.
>justified is kino all the way through
Season 5 is pretty bad with moments of good. Season 6 was a step-up though, thankfully.

Timothy Olyphant has played a United States Marshall in three separate television shows: Deadwood, Justified, and Fargo. Probably the most specific case of typecasting I can think of
Olyphant's a likeable Chad and probably a reliable professional - he's not zero frick ups related to booze or drugs as far as I know. So it's a good choice for the lawman you want to make the audience root for
his character in Deadwood is a far cry from Raylan Givens, but people can certainly watch him play Raylan for days, he's like an Indiana Jones of modernity.
I hope you aren't talking about the rapey cowboy kid in the final season because then you'd be a blithering homosexual moron since that guy killed multiple people easily all season and came within half an inch of blowing Raylan's brains out.
And he would have killed him if he aimed for center mass instead, I think that's part of anon's point maybe.
>And he would have killed him if he aimed for center mass instead
You'll get no argument from me but that isn't really related to the original moronic Anon's point that he should have used a semi-auto over his revolver now is it?
Not a Marshal there, obviously, but he might as well have been. And he plays an actor playing an old West gunslinger in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, too. He's the go-to cowboy in a time when cowboy stuff doesn't get made all that often
Tim's prolly just living his dream... a kid who wanted to be that steely-eyed cowboy staring down dusty goons and making stand for What's Right. It's only right he gets paid to do what he does so well.

the first season is the weakest, the rest of the show is kino aside from a few boring plotlines here and there
