BRUCE WILLIS RECOVERING

>Rumer, 35, thanked her father's fans for their support as well. "Through this experience, what's been so incredible is my dad is so beloved, and that's been so evident in the transparency with which we've been sharing," she said. "And I think if there's any way sharing our experience brings hope — whatever comes forward as a family — that can have an effect and bring any sort of hope, comfort to someone else experiencing that, knowing that one day he could star in a [television show] or movie again, then to me, that's… everything."

hes getting better and he might be in a new movie soon!!

Let It Snow reverberated his entire wearable sandwich board, making it pulsate even as the $9 eggnog circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of East Germans after dark. "With a helicopter, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.

        >"act their way out" of dementia
Never heard that. and I worked with dementia patients for years. Probably what they're doing is learning ways to help Bruce communicate, he's not actually getting better.
For example if you ask someone with Alzheimer's to sing "Old McDonald' they probably just can't. But, if you start singing they might join in very naturally. They didn't get better, you just gave them an alternate way of expressing themselves.

I've seen it. It's not like any other illness. Parts of you die slowly until there's nothing left. It's just as devastating as a fatal heart attack but painfully spread out over years.

      Anonymous

I've read a bit and it seems that Alzheimer is actually your brain slowly dissolving into water.
You first forget recent stuff then you keep forgetting pretty much everything until you were like 10 yo. You don't get the personality of a 10yo though.
You are conscious of what's happening, you want to remember and you see pictures that now mean nothing to you.
Eventually you'll need people to help you eat and bathing. And while your brain is suffering retrogenesis the rest of your body will look ok as a constant reminder to everyone that you could be there but instead you're a walking corpse, every day a little more zombie and less human than before.
You are not sick but you are no longer you.

Very often, old people who are about to die will suddenly "get better" for a short while. It might be their body knows it is the end and is giving it one last shot by using up the energy reserves. If you see this happens with your loved ones, use that opportunity to properly say goodbye. You can't recover from dementia, unfortunately. My dad is currently on palliative care at the hospital after almost dying from pneumonia. He was diagnosed with CJD last year and dementia has eaten his soul away to the core. It's a very cruel death for someone who has always been a good father and husband. But it is what is is. May God bless Willis and his family.

Very weird seeing a smart person unable to form a coherent sentence, except on rare occasion when a piece of their old self will come out in a look or even them randomly saying something completely normal before returning to gibberish. Makes you wonder about the reality of the soul though when you see someone turning into a blank slate before your eyes.

I guess all those years of doing stunts on movie sets and getting banged around finally caught up to him. His brain is probably rivaling Joe Biden's in the mush department.
