This show was power rangers but for teens instead of kids. That’s my takeaway at least. My sister would watch this while I’d watch power rangers. She was older but sometimes we’d watch out shows together. Both campy, full of action and live action fight sequences. Idk

Buffy season 1 has the STUPIDEST "twist" or whatever of any show I think I've ever seen, but frick me if it doesn't work anyway because by the time it comes around you're already invested in the characters. Early Whedon really knew a thing or two.

That was literally the trope,of having the usual blonde victim to be the one that kills the vampire then they just kept world building,into all the crazy shit we got. Season 1 was mostly very common legends like Standard vampires,witchew,curses and monster of the week

It works because slayers are supposed to be complete loners who forge no bonds with the world since their time is fleeting. Buffy decided she was going to keep the social part of her life and as a result had people around to save her.

I love Buffy. However, Firefly was true kino. It worked out for the best we only got 14 episodes. The movie that came out a few years later surprisingly wrapped up the story perfectly. I wish people would only create shows with the intention of making 1 or 2 seasons. Not everything has to go on forever or become a huge franchise with multiple spinoffs. True Detective is similar in a sense. The first season is a standalone masterpiece. I hate vidya Black folk, but The Outer Worlds really scratches the Firefly itch. A great game to play once you've finished the series.
