IKR, the first anime ended on a pretty great note with emperor dragon’s demise and himika was already defeated earlier, I guess it was a sequel to the lesser known manga which didn’t even end iirc as it advertised the anime
It was Latin America
I feel if the force five were the force seven instead, it would’ve included Jeeg and gakeen
>I guess it was a sequel to the lesser known manga which didn’t even end iirc as it advertised the anime
The thing is, if it's the manga I read, it's fairly different from Kotetsushin too.
WTF people are still saying that Shin Jeeg is a sequel when it's clear that it's not? Honest question, I want to know the deal with this because I have heard it a lot of times.
It's not literally a sequel, but it is set in a future of a world where a version of Jeeg events happened. Which makes it a successor of sorts.
That said, I think it's an alright show for what it is, just like the other Kawagoe/Hayakawa stuff.
It's impossible that events of Jeeg happen like from the first few seconds where Hiroshi's father is alive. What the frick dude. You can tell me that is losely based on the original universe like Armageddon to original anime, but never in any damn situation you can consider it as a sequel.
No, I get what you are saying, but you also can consider it a pedantic autism.
Again, even if not a sequel, you can absolutely consider it a successor.
It's the sequel to an AU version of Jeeg where Hiroshi's dad never died and mid way through the series Jeeg and the island were sealed off fighting Himika and the second arc with the other Empire never happened.
In the orignal Jeeg Hiroshi wins back in the 70s and is free to get together with Micchi instead of being sealed away until the 2020s.
I'm kinda baffled that they made it at all given that the line seems to try to reuse as many runners as possible and then Jeeg comes along and the only thing it has in common with the rest is the universal Bandai-stand.
You'd think that they do Getter 1, SKL, Emperor G, Great Mazinkaiser or some bullshit instead but nope.
Don't worry, now that Zero release confirmed that the line isn't ded, we'll likely see all that shit too, eventually.
What am I really baffled about is that they never released an Ichinana kit or any other actual designs from the movie, really.

Cool lies bro, I can at least ARR's subs, crab sticks are always worse.

You're not supposed to understand crabstick subs, you're supposed to feel them.

Just watch it raw. It's about as understandable as ARR shit.

No it isn't. I've seen anime raw and with ARR subs, the latter was much easier to understand than nothing at all. Admit you have a hateboner for the group or you are actively lying.

No, I just happen to know about a bit more japanese than a regular ARR subber.
Not enough to understand everything (and certainly not the first time when I heard it), but enough to spot the mistranslations.
Frankly speaking, anyone who watched Japanese stuff for at least 5 years should be able to pick up that much, especially with all the tropes and formulaic dialogue.

That’s not even a joke. The Jeeg subs from ARR are so bad that you might as well watch it raw.

ARR can be a few different things
a lot are just rips of crabsticks
a few are heavily polished crabsticks
some are just random subs from a completely unrelated show
On a lot of these toys the magnet gimmick didn't work so well after they toned down the strength so it wouldn't rip out a kid's insides if a part was swallowed.
Good show.
A shame about Kotetsushin though. Not that it's bad on its own, but it's bad as a sequel.

That aside yes, Shin Jeeg is a pretty lame show.
It's not literally a sequel, but it is set in a future of a world where a version of Jeeg events happened. Which makes it a successor of sorts.

Marvel have break your delicate brains too much.

I liked the songs.
Con el moovimieeeeeeento de tus puños, te convieeeeertes eeeeeeeen un gigante, robot.
>with the movement of your fist he turns into a giant robot
what did espana mean by this
It was Latin America

I wish it got proper subs.
Shin Jeeg was great
Best 70s Dynamic show. Period.
That's Dororon Enma-kun.
But Jeeg is very good too.
Well yes you are right, I mean best dynamic /m/ show.
That's Groizer X.
It's also the the best show with Toru Furuya in a leading role from the 70s.
Disgusting!
I wonder if it sold well

Maybe they wanted to do Shin Jeeg at some point?

Green and yellow is really unique for a main mecha color scheme
Also don't forget to take a look to the different mangas. And BTW, is AKA Jeegfried scan?
Are there subs yet?
nope
And don't even fricking bother with replying with your "BUT AKTSHUALEY..." shit, guess-sub homosexual.
Weren't there non-ARR subs at least up to a certain point?
Like 13 episodes or something.
Yes, it's been fully subbed for five years now. Not good since this was the editor's first time subbing, but better than nothing at all.
Well I just did, deal with it. I don't support ARR, but I also don't support obvious lies.
I tried watching those subs, they’re so bad they shouldn’t even count.
If crabsticks then so do those.
Are there even crabsticks for Jeeg?
ARR is the cut above crabsticks
Crabsticks are enjoyable unlike ARR.
Cool lies bro, I can at least ARR's subs, crab sticks are always worse.

Was this a commentary on Japan's westernization?
Spot the imposter.
On a lot of these toys the magnet gimmick didn't work so well after they toned down the strength so it wouldn't rip out a kid's insides if a part was swallowed.
Metal.
The one thing here is that the jeeg palette is horrible.
Shit taste.
Do original Jeeg and shin Jeeg interact in DD?
It's a shitty mobage and they are from different worlds, so I assume not. Would be funny if it had both versions of the original Jeeg though.
Actually, they do. Though, Shin Hiroshi hasn't shown up yet as far as I know.
Of course. Miwa realising she was talking to her 70 years old self was fun .
Kenji became Hiroshi's kohai on the spot.
In general the Double Jama Empire is a plot point
Well, hopefully Hiroshi resolved to not leave Miwa if he's able to, unlike his counterpart.
Honestly disgusting.
What's disgusting about it?
Gacha
Fair enough
