Burning witches is a personal choice.

Burning witches is a personal choice. I don’t burn witches, but who am I to stop others that enjoy their culture of witch burning?

Reminder that Owlhouse was a classic good-vs-evil tale told from the POV of a witch
Whereas most classic media is wish fulfilment for the human, the brave, the righteous...
This was what it would be like to read wish fulfilment made for the witches

      Sounds lame and gay.
      >le heckin SUBVERSION OF EXPECTATIONS
It wasn't cool or groundbreaking when Rian Johnson did it and it isn't cool or groundbreaking when some talentless dyke Alex Hirsch was fricking does it.

Why not just do something original instead of "le flipping le script xD" just for the sake of being quirky and different?

        No, anon, here's the thing
It wasn't the intent, or rather it wasn't intended to be subversive

Classic tales tell of the heroic acts of honorable and just men with brave hearts who seek out and destroy witches, the systems they uphold and the wickedness they create
Dana made a story writing out what she wishes she could do as a witch, uphold those systems of power, slay the righteous and brave and instill wickedness

In a way, Dana is a witch
Not the modern Harry Potter style wacky-fricky "flick a wand and make shit float" kind, but the very much old kind. Witches often used real world phenomena, ranging from psychology to botany to chemistry to shape the world around them to their favor. A lot of this was shrouded in mythical hooha because they simply didn't understand it at the time, but they called themselves witches and named their work 'witchcraft'. That's what Dana is, using real methods of manipulating people with a side of unclean worship to get her work done.

Ok I read it and it only further proves how fricking asinine the entire premise of the show and Dana's mindset is with that framework in mind.

TL;DR Dana is an edgelord making the cartoon equivalent of a chad meme.

Most of the threads posted about it are just waifu and shipping garbage. Owlgays defend it because if people realize how shit it is then they’ll all be outed as tumblr coomers.

It was unironically just the story told from the villain's point of view. Belos was a righteous christian hero from 1600's America defeated by the forces of post-modern pozzed 2020 demonic America bolstered by the realm of demons and their great demon god (the titan).
