probably the most idiosyncratic film of the genre without trying to be over-the-top wacky (like all the rudy ray moore films)
as an aside, the theme from "Shaft" came on the radio at work yesterday. Brightened my day considerably for 4 minutes, those string stabs and wah wah guitar just hit different
Theme from Shaft was a running joke in my first year of university, not even sure how we got turned onto it but we played it all the time.
There were like 16 of us in a flat and we left it playing full blast in the corridor for like 8 hours while we were out drinking and just one antisocial guy stayed behind in his room - came back and it was still playing. Must have driven him insane.

It always felt like it ended very abruptly to me and I don't know if I like it or not, but can't think of a better way to end it after the final battle tbf.
I think the only bad scene in the movie is the animated sex scene, just feels out of place.
I love the ending but I wish they didn’t kill off his whole crew, would have been funny if they made a sequel and they were all just inexplicably alive though.
The ending fight scene with Richard Nixon is great and the actor playing him is unironically the best Nixon impersonator I’ve ever seen. I fast forward through the sex scene it’s the only fault in the film at all for me
