More horror movies come out nowadays that are """deconstructions""" of 30+ year old movies than earnest horror movies.
When the first cabin came out, it was a good time for it.
Post-Post Modernism is either going to be a realization that genre landmarks are there for a reason, or an even harsher rejection of them in the name of “””originality”””
Well, if it's horrormovieworld, then can't it "reboot"?
Actually, a movie premise of a reboot where the characters remember the original movie might be kind of kino if written correctly...
I think it'd be cool if they implied that it became more and more corporate/white collar as time went on. Maybe go back about 100 years so you can see a better balance between rationalization and ancient rituals.
The corporate mindset. What if the people running the thing, the actual blue & white collar workers on it were actually told it was big Gods forcing them to do this, so they had to do it, but it was really a large sick black market snuff live action snuff film. But the only way to get people to work for them is to have it be the highest clearance & some stupid story so they would do the horrible things they were paid to do.
That was actually a movie, I think it was B-tier movie. Basically a tree that killed people and stuck its wood in someone. I forget what it was called.
>Cabin in the woods in space >Set 9000 years after gods destroyed earth in the year 2010, sending all men back into apedom >Humanity, now rebuilt, has learned from past mistakes and was able to appease the gods for everlasting peace >until now...
Richard Jenkins was the only good part of this shitty movie. I hate these “deconstructions” where the screenwriters act like geniuses for pointing out obvious genre tropes
It was soft disclosure for when the truth comes out about all the regular people who are watched & controlled/manipulated for entertainment purposes. It started out as a experiment, but went bad & off the tracks. People selling footage on the black market, murders off people who try to talk, etc.
They want people to blame it on Murdering Gods & not the actual greedy power hungry pigs who are actually running it
>scarecrow folk
>Ronald the intern
Frick that.
Freddy got fingered 2 when?

I can't wait for us to get to the point where young people don't even know what the deconstructions are deconstructing.

Did you watch the first one? The world ended.

Could be a prequel
Oh yeah. That would be interesting too. To see how they got away with it for so long & the choices they had to make.

Starting in the 1930s…
What could part 2 be about? The giants stomping the world?
>molesting tree
They had to move it to the right so no one reads it as "raping tree".

there was also the tree rape in Evil Dead
it's this obscure lost media movie called The Evil Dead
>Metashit
Hard pass

Not having any more movies is also part of the deconstruction.
i thought this was a good "twist" when i saw it
but i dont remember it. wonder how it holds up

Uh huh. Fascinating. Thanks for the insight.
Totally unrelated, but have you taken your meds yet lately? As in, medication.
Why doesn't Goddard make any more movies? What he made was pretty good.
Make it a take on found footage films and I'll watch it.
So vhs only from the corp perspective making it a night/day of riffing on "movies" and that b***h from accounting?
>Mormans
>No Votes
It do be like that. Also, why are goblins only allowed for dismemberment?
the office meets monster of the week
